Instructions

Granite is mined in several ways. In Russia, the method of exploding earth layers is mainly used. To do this, it is necessary to make a hole in the rock, into which explosives are then placed. Among the rock fragments, the largest pieces are selected, from which granite slabs are made. This method of extracting granite is the cheapest. Unfortunately, some of the material crumbles, thereby becoming unsuitable for processing. About 70% of granite mined in this way is used for production.

There is also a more economical, but also more expensive way to extract stone. It requires the use of an air cushion, with the help of which rocks are broken off. Using this method, it is necessary to precisely control the places where the crack appears, which is not necessary to do in the event of an explosion. Granite paving stones are made from such granite, as well as some other stone processing products. Granite mined in this way has virtually no internal defects that can form from explosives.

Another technique is based on the use of a stone cutter. She is very, but also very for today. With the help of a stone cutter you can extract the highest quality granite. With this method, microcracks are completely absent in the material.

The main advantage of granite is its durability. Evidence of this is the many buildings around the world with facades finished with this stone. This material can last for centuries. In addition, granite is quite beautiful to look at. And it has not only the traditional black and gray color, but also brown with all its shades and so on. Granite will help you make your own home unique. This stone is also widely used for cladding embankments and bridges.

However, it is worth remembering that granite is a fairly heavy stone. Therefore, spend more time on calculations when working with it, so that the wall of your new country house does not suddenly collapse from the weight that has fallen on it.

note

In the north-west of Russia, very decorative rapakivi granite is mined. The deposits of Transbaikalia and the Ilmen Mountains in the Urals are rich in amazonite granite. There are granite deposits that are developed only periodically, and the granite mined there is used mainly for rubble and crushed stone.

Helpful advice

Its quality greatly depends on how granite is mined. There are several ways to mine granite. The largest pieces are selected from the rock fragments and granite slabs are made from them. This is the cheapest way to extract granite, although the quality of the stone deteriorates. Most of the granite crumbles and the material suitable for production is only 70%.

Ore in the world of World of Warcraft is one of the most rare and valuable resources used in various professions. The difficulty of its extraction is due to the fact that the principle of the appearance of silver veins is random, so it will not be possible to create a specific route.

Features of silver deposits

Silver in WOW is needed not only by jewelers, but also by blacksmiths, and even by engineers who make special contacts and weapon parts from silver bars. Unlike most other ores, the deposits of which are located in fixed points of the game world, silver ore is mined from veins that randomly appear in place of other metals: tin and iron.

Obviously, it makes sense to mine silver ore in those locations where the number of tin and iron deposits is maximum, while the location itself should not be overly populated, otherwise you will have to fight for every vein with competitors. Such locations include Stranglethorn Vale, Feralas, Arathi Highlands, Hillsbrad Foothills, Talon Mountains and many others.

You need to focus on the level of the location, since tin and iron veins in the largest quantities are located in places intended for characters of 20-30 levels.

It is believed that the chance of a silver vein appearing in place of a tin vein is higher than in place of an iron one, but there is no official confirmation of this. Perhaps the fact is that iron ore is more in demand, so there are not so many untouched veins in the regions where it prevails.

Production on an industrial scale

Ideally, to quickly and efficiently search for silver ore, you need to acquire the fastest vehicle, that is, a flying dragon or griffin with maximum flight speed. Unfortunately, such a pet will not be cheap, and you will first have to reach the level required to learn the rider skill. Additionally, you will need to pay a certain amount of gold for the opportunity to fly over the territories of Azeroth.

Special modifications or “addons” that remember the coordinates of all previously visited deposits can make a miner’s life easier. After several days of searching, you will have a map on which most of the possible locations of a particular ore will appear.

If you're serious about mining for silver, you shouldn't neglect the tin and iron veins, especially when you're on a circular route. The fact is that a silver vein will appear on the site of another deposit only if this place is free, which means everything needs to be dug up. Please note that if you do not pick up the deposit, the deposit will not disappear, and a new one will not appear in its place, so before departure on the route it is worth unloading your inventory as much as possible of all unnecessary items.

The first profession I started earning gold from in WoW was mining. When I asked older comrades about what kind of craft to do, I, as a beginner, was advised to take mining professions, since others did not bring such income (which was a controversial statement), and for a beginner who is leveling up his first character, they are an excellent help for strengthening his material provisions (which was true).

Important : This guide has been updated for patch 8.0.1 (current version of World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth). But for those who download mining on the official classic WoW servers, it will also be useful. The locations and places where you can find this or that ore have not changed, so you can use the maps without problems.

Yes, indeed, if you are on a quest and spend most of your time in locations, then one way or another you will come across flowers and ore veins, and even more so animals from which you can skin. Now there is another reason why it makes sense for a new character to engage in mining - they give you experience for it, that is, by hammering with a pickaxe you level up.

Miners provide raw materials for many productive professions. The metals that miners smelt are used by engineers and blacksmiths, and the ore is sifted by jewelers. If you choose mining, you will definitely not be left without income; the demand for ore of all levels is constant. The disadvantages of this profession are that it is a farming profession by definition and you will have to spend quite a lot of time to earn money. Therefore, many players, after reaching the level cap, reset mining and change their profession.

Mining is carried out using two methods, which can be used both together and separately - ore mining and metal smelting. Both add points, so, unlike herbalism or skinning, you can upgrade your mining without leaving the city, simply by buying ore and smelting it into metal ingots. True, only up to level 525.

Mining isn't one of the professions that developers have changed frequently, but there are a few things worth noting:

    • in the Cataclysm add-on, they began to give experience for digging ore;
    • In the Mists of Pandaria expansion, the ability to mine any ore was introduced, regardless of skill level. In this case, the amount of ore mined depends on what its level is. Therefore, it is still recommended to upgrade the skill the old fashioned way, so as not to lose in the amount of raw materials produced.
    • The Warlords of Draenor expansion dealt a critical blow to mining (and herbalism too). Each garrison had its own mine, in which a character without mining skills could mine ore for his needs. Additional ore could be obtained by placing orders with followers. In addition, there was no need to melt ingots. Blacksmiths and engineers began to make objects directly from ore. Finally, jewelers stopped sifting ore to obtain rough gemstones. In short, the value of the skill has dropped significantly.
    • in the Legion expansion everything was returned to normal. There were no mines in the strongholds, and jewelers would again need the ore to obtain precious stones.

One of the innovations in the Battle for Azeroth add-on, which seriously affects leveling, is that the skill is now divided into shooting ranges. Each tier corresponds to an add-on. The most important thing is that the shooting ranges are independent of each other. If you want to improve your mining skill in Northrend, then you don’t need to run around the locations of the Old World and Outland, digging for ore. You simply find a teacher in Northrend, learn from him and upgrade your skill. The distribution by range is outlined below. In general, we can say that this did not particularly affect the pumping routes. The total number of skill points is now 950.

  • 1-300 - mining
  • 1-75 - Outland Mining
  • 1-75 - Northrend Mining
  • 1-75 - mining during the Cataclysm
  • 1-75 - Pandarian Mining
  • 1-100 - Draenor Mining
  • 1-100 - Mining Legion
  • 1-150 - Kul Tiran/Zuldazar Mining

For other innovations regarding professions in Battle for Azeroth, watch this video

Thus, now (patch 8.0.1) there are several ways to improve your mining skill:

  • If you are not interested in the amount of ore mined, then you do not need to follow the recommended sequence of locations. In this case, we must remember the following important point. If you have not learned the mining skill for a certain tier, then in some cases it will not be upgraded. Let's say the Legion mining skill unlocks after you hit ore for the first time in the Broken Isles. Whereas for Outland ores such a mechanism does not work. Yes, you will be able to mine ore, but you will not receive any points for it. Perhaps this is a bug that will be fixed, but for now it’s better to first fly to a mining teacher and learn the skill, and then dig ore.
  • if the amount of ore is important to you, then the order of passing the locations must be observed. In other words, pumping is done the old fashioned way.
  • The skill can still be upgraded by smelting ore, although not for all tiers either. Let's say there is no metal smelting in Draenor and Legion mining. You can only smelt into ingots up to Pandarian ores. That is, you can level up your skills for the classic game shooting ranges, Outland, Northrend, Cataclysm and Pandaria without leaving the city. For the Draenor mining ranges and beyond, you need to go out into the field and hit the ore veins.

Yes, now the skill can be upgraded without being tied to specific zones, but you will receive significantly less ore, so in principle it is recommended to adhere to a certain order of zones.

Before moving on to specific routes and the pumping algorithm, information regarding what ore veins and metals are in Azeroth.

Leveling up mining in Battle for Azeroth

In the Battle for Azeroth expansion, three, rather than two, as usual, types of ore were introduced:

  • Monelite Ore;
  • Storm Silver Ore;
  • Platinum Ore;

The first two types are the lowest tier of ores, and platinum, accordingly, is rarer and therefore valuable.

As in the Legion expansion, mining this ore can be done with varying efficiency, depending on what level of mining skill you have for a particular ore. Yes, these same notorious stars. Moreover, you can increase your skill level, just like in Legion, by completing quests. By the way, the developers left quests in Battle for Azeroth only for mining and herbalism.

Mining is one of the main professions in the world of World of Warcraft. Miners can collect different types of ore from the veins they find, as well as smelt this ore into ingots. This guide will show you how to level up Mining in WoW Battle for Azeroth.

Mining in WOW

Useful addons

To upgrade your Mining, you will need the following useful addons:

  • or .

Where to dig ore

Our guide presents Mining upgrade routes only for Cataclysm locations. We believe that there is no need to draw maps for all locations. You just need to know a few provisions about the location of ore deposits in order to successfully navigate and choose the best route in any location.

Basic rule: veins are not located in the field and on the plains. Ore deposits can only appear on and near mountain slopes, as well as near gorges and depressions. You should look at the location map, and based on the terrain you can already figure out an approximate route.

As a rule, locations in WoW are separated from each other by mountain ranges, so often the most practical and simple route is to fly around the boundaries of the location along the mountains.

Remelting

As stated above, miners can not only collect ore, but also smelt it into ingots. Quite importantly, this action also increases the Mining skill. Thus, to level up faster, you should smelt the collected ore into ingots. On our site there is a special way of smelting ore.

Leveling up mining in WOW Battle for Azeroth

We have compiled a short guide on leveling up the new stage of mining in the Battle for Azeroth.

This mining profession allows you to obtain ingredients for the production professions - blacksmithing, engineering and jewelry. Thus, it is recommended to combine mining with these professions (though the choice is, of course, yours).

Mining Study

The skill is upgraded in exactly the same way, only its names differ for different factions - Kul Tiras Mining and Zandalar Mining. You can learn a new level of mining from Master Secott's Goldsmiths at the Dazar'alor Craftsmen's Terrace, or from Mira Cabot at the Market of the Seven Winds in Boralus.

If you can’t find the NPC you need, then ask the guards - they will mark the location of the desired character on your map.

How to speed up mining leveling

Three new items have appeared in Battle for Azeroth that increase the speed of ore production:

  • allow you to collect ore while on a mount.
  • Monelite-reinforced horseshoes increase the mount's speed by 20%.
  • Rough Leather Horse Armor makes you immune to dizziness, so enemies can't knock you off your mount.

Remember that all these items only work for 2 hours. It is advisable to use them at the same time, but if this is not possible, then at least get Stirrups Reinforced with Monelite.

You can also use Enchant Gloves: Zandalari Mining or Enchant Gloves: Kul Tiran Mining, both of which also increase the speed of ore production.

Leveling up mining in Battle for Azeroth

1 – 150

A mount that can move on water, or a spell that allows you to do this personally, will significantly speed up the process of leveling up in this location. If you notice that you are mining ore too quickly and new nodes do not have time to appear on your route, try increasing the route range by adding a red route to the main yellow route.

Drustvar

Just like in the case of Nazmir, you can add the red route to the main one if you collect ore too quickly.

Zuldazar

This route goes around a Horde city, so it is not recommended for Alliance representatives.

Storm Valley

There are several underground nodes in the center of the map - remember that it doesn’t always make sense to waste time on them.

We hope this guide to Mining in WOW Battle for Azeroth will help you level up your profession to the maximum as quickly as possible.

Guides on leveling up professions in WOW Battle for Azeroth can be found on the page dedicated to.

We have prepared a detailed guide on ore farming in Kul Tiras and Zandalar: we found out how to speed up the farming process and which route is best to choose in each location.

Skill Levels

Any ore in Battle for Azeroth can be farmed with skill 1, but to increase the efficiency of mining, it makes sense to study levels 2 (requires 50 skill units and completing the quest) and 3 (145 skill units and completing the quest):

Ore

Exercise

Monelite Ore Who's getting the firewood? (level 2)
Storm Silver Ore Preparing for the ritual (level 2)
Platinum Ore Item An exceptionally large piece of platinum that can be dropped during ore mining. Requires approximately 130 Mining Units (Level 2)

Where to farm ore in Kul Tiras and Zandalar

The first type of ore that you can mine in Battle for Azeroth locations is monelite ore. It is from it that improvements can be made to speed up the farming process.

The next type of deposit is storm silver ore. This is a rare Monelite spawn, i.e. After mining ore from a monelite deposit, a deposit of storm silver ore will appear in the same place with a probability of 35-40%. Thus, it is recommended to mine all Monelite that comes your way.

And finally, platinum ore is the rarest deposit in Battle for Azeroth, used to craft the most valuable items.

Ore mining route in WOW Battle for Azeroth

Nazmir

Here you will need either a mount with the ability to walk on water, or a corresponding ability specifically for the character - otherwise, farming ore will be more difficult.

If you notice that the ore is not having time to spawn, try changing the route by adding a red path to the yellow one.

Drustvar

The principle is the same - if the ore does not have time to spawn, increase the route.

Stormsong Valley

Several deposits are located underground, in caves - remember that it does not always make sense to waste time on them.

Tiragarde Sound

Both routes are good, but it's better to use the first one.
