Fairy tale games. Theatrical play based on the fairy tale “Little Red Riding Hood Eating a Wolf for Lunch”

  • 11.03.2024

Storytellers and fabulists go to great lengths to add poignancy and tragedy to their works. In this case, foreign creators of stories for children will give everyone a head start... What are the famous brothers Grimm worth, whose creations (in the original) can easily replace horror films, cheering up a falling asleep boy and filling his room with nightmares - the evil inhabitants of the forests boiled little travelers in cauldrons, kept them in cages and baked on the grill. Other authors did not lag behind, and also sent their charges to certain self-destruction...

Everyone knows the story about a certain girl who, putting on a red Panama hat, rushed through the forest to her beloved grandmother, carrying a basket of delicious pies in her hands. Her mother was not stopped by the fact that a hungry wolf lives in the thicket, and the child’s chances of survival are close to zero.

The subsequent events would have been the envy of D. Cameron himself with his “Aliens”: the wolf devoured the grandmother and almost ate the girl along with the pies, but the valiant forest landing of hunters entered into battle with the monster, opened his stomach (from where the unharmed pensioner fell out), and then drowned the gray rogue in a well, crushing him with heavy cobblestones. Then everyone sang songs and danced...

In fact, this simple bloodthirsty story is the subject of a board game that occupies a place on the shelf not far from “The Three Little Pigs.” Again, a beautiful box in the form of a book with a folding lid on a magnet, a convenient plastic organizer, excellent quality components, a booklet with a fairy tale.

By the way, the fairy tale has been slightly adjusted to the gameplay and modernized, so it will be interesting for young board gamers to read the story about a gullible and inattentive girl, and then follow the development of events on the playing field.

In front of you is a basket in which Little Red Riding Hood will carry a pie and a jar of sour cream to a hungry granny living in the deepest corner of the darkest forest.

The figures of the main characters are carved from wood, painted and varnished, under which the outlines of translucent stickers are visible. Just in case, there are two more sheets of stickers in the box in case you want to make the images of the characters brighter (although much brighter - red and black colors are difficult to confuse).

Four trees are optionally placed in special locations on the field and are designed to create the atmosphere of a remote thicket.

Continuous numbering of numerical tokens will be useful for very young board gamers to mark the laid out road cards. While traveling along the paths, you can find guiding flowers and useless stones. And, of course, there is no point in just walking through the forest - goal tokens will help you decide on the meaning of life.

The trail cards will show the way and provide Little Red Riding Hood with bouquets of wildflowers. Portraits of characters, as well as harmful animals, are used in the version of the rules with a “traitor” - one of the players controls the wolf, and everyone else plays against him.

In a difficult situation, tips printed on three cards will come to the rescue - compact and useful.

From flower to flower

You can travel through the forest as a team (not so scary), or fight a real wolf, played by the most insidious player. Let's consider the first option, since it involves the participation of all interested children and does not require a leader (who is sometimes difficult to find).

Place the playing field in the center of the table, place the wolf and girl chips in the indicated places. The deck of path cards is shuffled and placed nearby; create a bank of lost and found tokens, place a pot of sour cream and a pie next to the basket; Place goal tokens randomly on the finish line. The bravest one makes the first move, then this right is passed around the circle. As you understand, whether the whole team wins or loses is a cooperative version of the game, so decisions must be made together.

On your turn, you can either remove one card from the deck or activate the movement of the Red Riding Hood chip. After removing the card, look at the index number - if it is greater than or equal to the number of previously laid out cards in the row, then continue the path. Then look around the area and place the required number of discovery tokens based on the number of daisies on the map, face down.

Instead of traveling, you can open the previously laid out tokens and go on a journey, moving the girl’s token a number of locations equal to the number of flowers on the discovery tokens.

The stones are put aside and bring neither positive nor negative effects. The path cards are discarded, the tokens go into the basket, and a new row of cards begins. But that is not all…

The wolf also moves one position forward, towards the target tokens. Please note that the predator's path is significantly shorter than Little Red Riding Hood's, so you need to hurry if you want to see your grandmother alive and well.

There is an opportunity to shorten the road by following the path of a hungry opponent. Please note that if you find yourself in the same location with a wolf, you will be immediately swallowed, and nothing will save grandma.

Among the guide cards, you may encounter a traveler running as fast as she can (turn over all the tokens and walk around unscheduled, without discarding the cards after that); ruffled owl (look at the bottom card in the path stack); and a wolf (discard all previously laid out cards without moving Red Riding Hood).

Remember the jar of sour cream and the pie? For extra speed, you can eat both, winning one move for each token. Grandma will be left without gifts, but at least she will survive...

Having reached the finish line, start turning over the goal tokens - granny’s house is hidden among the “empties”. Run inside, grab the double-barreled shotgun left by your grandfather and open fire on the uninvited guest. You won! Otherwise, run away while the wolf feasts on the old woman - his hat (especially the red one) is closer to the body...

The second version of the rules involves the leader (controlling the wolf), as well as the use of cards of hunters and minions of the gray villain. This is a more complex option that is suitable for experienced table-goers - an adult can take on the function of eating grannies, which will give children real pleasure, turning an ordinary evening into a real adventure. I recommend it - you will get much more emotions than from the cooperative option.

Eating a wolf for lunch

An excellent game for children that can be played by any team, even against parents. There are quite a few cooperative “board games” for young players, so it’s doubly pleasant that “Little Red Riding Hood” is both designed properly and in terms of content it turned out to be excellent.

Particularly pleasing are two variants of rules that allow you to both keep children occupied and spend time with them as a family (dad, for example, will become a wolf, and mother and child will try to save Little Red Riding Hood).

Team decision-making “revolves” around movement cards: it is necessary to obtain the maximum effect, since the wolf’s path is almost half as long as the girl’s path, and the gray predator moves towards the target after each move of Little Red Riding Hood. Again, there is a “zero” card in the deck, which will cancel out all your previously earned tokens. And do not forget that there is a possibility that the number of the removed card will be less than the length of the path.

Playing against a person (second option) is interesting because of the use of special cards and a special atmosphere - you see the emotions of your opponent, preparing tricks for you. As I mentioned earlier - a great option for family time with children...

Char Perrault, artist S. Yarovoy.

A long time ago, there lived in a village a girl so pretty that there was no better person in the world than her. Her mother loved her deeply, and her grandmother loved her even more.

For her granddaughter's birthday, her grandmother gave her a red riding hood. Since then, the girl went everywhere in her new, elegant red cap. The neighbors said this about her:
- Here comes Little Red Riding Hood!
One day my mother baked a pie and said to Little Red Riding Hood:

- Go, daughter, to your grandmother, bring her this pie and a pot of butter and find out if she is healthy.
Little Red Riding Hood got ready and went to her grandmother in another village.
Little Red Riding Hood is walking through the forest, and the gray Wolf is meeting her.

He really wanted to eat the girl, but he didn’t dare: somewhere nearby, woodcutters were banging their axes. The Wolf licked his lips and asked Little Red Riding Hood:

-Where are you going, girl? And Little Red Riding Hood did not yet know how dangerous it was to stop in the forest and talk to wolves. She greeted the Wolf and said:
– I go to my grandmother and bring her this pie and a pot of butter.
– How far does your grandmother live? - asks the Wolf.
“Far,” answers Little Red Riding Hood. - In the village, behind the mill, in the first house on the edge.
“Okay,” says the Wolf, “I also want to visit your grandmother.” I will go along this road, and you go along that one. Let's see which of us gets there first.
The Wolf said this and ran as fast as he could along the shortest path.

And Little Red Riding Hood took the longest road. Little Red Riding Hood walked slowly, stopping every now and then along the way, picking flowers and collecting them into bouquets.
Before Little Red Riding Hood had even reached the mill, the Wolf had already galloped to her grandmother’s house and was knocking on the door:
- Knock Knock!
- Who's there? - asks the grandmother.
“It’s me, your granddaughter,” the Wolf answers in a thin voice. “I came to visit you, I brought a pie and a pot of butter.”
And my grandmother was sick at that time and was lying in bed. She thought that it really was Little Red Riding Hood and shouted:
“Pull the string, my child, and the door will open!”
The wolf pulled the string and the door opened.

The Wolf rushed at the grandmother and swallowed her. He was very hungry because he had not eaten anything for three days.

Then he closed the door, lay down on grandma’s bed and began to wait for Little Red Riding Hood. Soon she came and knocked:

- Knock Knock!
“Who’s there?” asks the Wolf.
And his voice is rough and hoarse. Little Red Riding Hood was scared at first, but then she thought that her grandmother was hoarse from a cold and that’s why she had such a voice.
“It’s me, your granddaughter,” says Little Red Riding Hood. – I brought you a pie and a pot of butter!
The wolf cleared his throat and said more subtly:
“Pull the string, my child, and the door will open.”
Little Red Riding Hood pulled the string and the door opened. Little Red Riding Hood came in, and the Wolf hid under the blanket and said:

“Granddaughter, put the pie on the table, put the pot on the shelf, and lie down next to me!” You must be very tired.
Little Red Riding Hood lay down next to the Wolf and asked:
- Grandma, why do you have such big hands?
- This is to hug you tighter, my child.
- Grandma, why do you have such big ears?
- To hear better, my child.
- Grandma, why are your eyes so big?
- To see better, my child.
- Grandma, why do you have such big teeth?
- And this is so that I can eat you quickly, my child!
Before Little Red Riding Hood had time to gasp, the evil Wolf rushed at her and swallowed her along with her shoes and Little Red Riding Hood.
But, fortunately, at that very time, woodcutters with axes on their shoulders passed by the house.

They heard a noise, ran into the house and killed the Wolf. And then they cut open his belly, and Little Red Riding Hood came out, followed by her grandmother, both safe and sound.

They took place back in May in Vyatka. The spectacle, I tell you, was fantastic. At the fairy-tale procession we met four Vasilis the Beautiful and three Koshchei immortals.

After the procession, contests and competitions began. The idea of fairy-tale games for children seemed very interesting to me. After all, all children read classic fairy tales, which means that the game is understandable and interesting to them. I remembered some of the games I especially liked and share them with you.

Fox Alice and cat Basilio

Remember, Alice was not only cunning, but also lame, and Basilio was blind? Participants in this competition must portray these fairy-tale characters.

So, the children get into pairs and compete with each other. In each pair, one of the players portrays the Fox, the other Basilio: that is, one bends his leg (holds it with his hand), and the other closes (or is blindfolded) his eyes. The “lame man” puts his hand on the “blind man’s” shoulder and they head towards the finish line. The pair that comes first is considered the winner.

Fairy tale connoisseurs

According to the rules of this game for children, all “experts” must be divided into two teams. Each team has a writer (if the guys don’t write well yet, an adult should become the writer).

The host announces the start of the game. It lasts only three minutes (the presenter keeps track of the time using a stopwatch). The task of each team is to remember as many fairy tales as possible in which some animal participates. For example, the mouse is found in the fairy tales “Teremok”, “Puss in Boots” and so on.

Artists

Some time before the start of the competition, the presenter selects two fairy-tale characters and several cards are prepared for each of them. Their body parts of the heroes are written on them. For example, the characters Pinocchio and Puss in Boots. On Pinocchio cards they write the words: cap, nose, eyes, ears, mouth, jacket, shoes, arms, legs... On Puss in Boots cards: hat with a feather, mustache, eyes, mouth, sword, boots...

The Pinocchio cards are shuffled together and placed in a pile, and the same is done with the Puss in Boots cards.

Two lines are drawn on the ground, approximately 30 meters apart. A large sheet of paper and pencils are placed at one line, and next to it is a stack of cards.

The presenter announces to each team the name of the fairy-tale hero they will draw. At the signal, the first player of the team runs from one line to another, takes the top card, reads the task (for example, a mustache) and draws. Then he quickly returns back to the line, where the team is waiting for him. Then the second participant enters the game, also runs to a sheet of paper, takes the top card and draws.

The winner is the team that is not only faster, but also the one who drew their character better.

Storytellers

The names of fairy-tale characters are written on cards and laid out on the table, lettering down. The participants of the game stand nearby. They will all have to take turns telling one common tale.

The first player draws a card, reads the name of “his” character and begins to tell the story. If the hero has any magical abilities, the player must mention this in his tale. After 2-3 minutes (the time is set by the presenter), the second player enters the game and so on.

At the end of the game, the jury evaluates the artistic characteristics of each fairy tale separately and thus reveals the winner. But, so as not to offend other participants, it is better to prepare consolation prizes.

This game for kids has a classic list of characters that you can use:

1) Little Red Riding Hood;
2) Vasilisa the Beautiful;
3) Zmey Gorynych;
4) Puss in Boots;
5) Goldfish;
6) Thirty-three heroes;
7) Ivanushka the Fool;
8) The Frog Princess;
9) Koschey the Immortal;
10) Snow Maiden;
11) Prince;
12) Cinderella.

Poetry competition

For this competition you will need recordings with music from children's cartoons. Precisely with music without poetry.

Each participant must announce the poem that he will read. He starts - and at the same time they turn on music from the cartoon. Everyone’s task is to read their verse to the end with expression and not get lost.

In fact, this is not easy, words from the song willy-nilly begin to sound in your head, and the player must keep the “general line” and read his verse. From the outside it looks funny: for example, reading the poem “Telephone” by Korney Chukovsky to the music “Blue Car”.

Guessing game

First, adults will have to thoroughly study fairy tales in order to draw up questions. Moreover, for warm-up questions can be easy, such as “What color was Little Red Riding Hood’s headdress?”

But as the game continues, the questions should become more complex:

  • What log of wood was Pinocchio made from?
  • Name all the dwarves from the fairy tale "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs"
  • What TV show did Freken Bock take part in?

This game for children greatly develops attentiveness and memory. But if you think that it will be difficult for your kids to cope with it, then you can simplify the game. For example, before the game starts, read a fairy tale to the children and then ask pre-prepared questions about it with suggested answer options. For example:

  • What did Baron Munchausen fly on?
  • on a magic carpet
  • on the core
  • on the wings

The player who answers the question faster than others is awarded a point. The one who scores the most points wins.

Fairy tale in reverse

They choose a well-known fairy tale. The players' task is to tell it: the first player says the first sentence, the second - the second. BUT! A fairy tale needs to be told not just, but vice versa.

The well-known “Little Red Riding Hood” will sound something like this:

“Once upon a time there was a little wolf cub with his dad. One day, dad sent the wolf cub to the city to visit his grandfather, who did not get sick, but decided to get married for the ninth time. Dad put strawberries in a jar, gave it to the wolf cub and sent him on his way...”

If the player makes a mistake and calls the hero by a name other than his, he is eliminated from the game.

Filling for a fairy tale

The players or the presenter come up with two phrases with fairy-tale characters. Phrases, like characters, should not be connected in any way.

For example:

First phrase: "Pooh the bear was walking along the forest path"
Last phrase: “Shapoklyak trembled with fear and ran away.”

The players' task is to come up with a fairy tale. What happened then to Pooh, where did Shapoklyak come from and why was she scared? There are no winners or losers in this game, but there is a lot of laughter and fun in it. Sometimes the stories are very funny.
