Completing tasks, killing other players, as well as increasing your rank, gives the user game points (GP), which can be used to buy new weapons, modify them, and also to buy camouflage for the player. Users can also purchase essential items on the Black Market (formerly known as Nexon Cash Shop) using NX (Nexon Cash) which can be purchased for real money. Most of the things in the Black Market have differences with the free ones (better characteristics, different coloring) and have no rank restrictions, but there are things that can be bought for both GP and NX. Most things are bought for a period of 1 to 90 days, with the exception of some in the Black Market, which can be bought forever, or when the so-called. Events and gives you the opportunity to buy some weapon or camouflage for an infinite period.

Hey guys, who will fight me?

When we think of popular online shooters, many interesting games come to mind, but most often we remember one of the most important ones - Counter-Strike, which is perhaps the most outstanding veteran of the genre.

The online game Combat Arms, which will be discussed in this review, was created by the authors of this greatest shooter and is its ideological successor.

But not only this causes respect for this project. Combat Arms is a high-quality modern online action game that has many advantages and has gone much further than its legendary progenitor.

In Combat Arms, you can play with thousands of players from all over the world, find friends, join battle clans and organize your own.

Of course, this game is made on a powerful 3D engine with excellent portrayal of landscapes, characters and all the details of equipment. But this is only an insignificant part of the features of the game, which I will describe in detail later in the review.

In particular, in this game you can create your own unique fighter similar to no one else, choose gender, appearance, uniforms for him.

At your service are more than 300 (!) Types of weapons of all the most famous and not so famous brands, from classic to ultra-modern: knives, pistols, machine guns, sniper and assault rifles, submachine guns, grenade launchers, shotguns, rocket launchers. Moreover! Weapons can be upgraded in a special workshop. Depending on the choice of combat means and equipment, you can take on the role of an insidious sniper, a furious attack aircraft, an explosives expert, or become a universal soldier who knows a lot about all the intricacies of war. And now about all this in more detail.

Description and features

This is what a game store looks like

The main distinguishing feature of Combat Arms is the incredible richness of choice in everything. Whether it's the number of weapons and options for its modification, or the number of game locations and battle modes. The player doesn’t have enough life to try all the possibilities offered by the game.

Combat Arms has more than thirty different cards, each of which can be fought in twelve modes. All maps are huge and unique, have their own secrets, loopholes, detours, windows and trenches, in which it is so convenient for a sniper to hide. So it can take a player months of intense play to explore all of these cards alone.

As for monetization, everything is more or less decent here. The game is based on the popular free-to-play model in Russia. That is, you can play for free, and pay at will only for additional features.

For each kill and each battle won, the player receives experience points that allow him to grow in rank, which in turn makes it possible to improve the characteristics of the fighter and acquire more and more cool things. Of course, for each player, detailed statistics of victories and defeats, the number of killed enemies and completed missions are kept. All these data affect the position of the player in the overall rating.

The game often hosts some kind of competitions, contests, events. You can join different clans or create your own. Wars are regularly waged between the clans, as a result of which the most powerful clan on the server is determined. Often in the course of the game, you can receive unexpected tasks, for the completion of which you can get additional money and experience.

This game is often compared to other Korean online shooter games -

Weapons and equipment

Crossbow-bomber - THIS is fluff!

One of the greatest strengths of Combat Arms is its weapons and equipment. And the point here is not only in the wealth of choice, but also in how many modifications can be done with all this. By working on the gradual modernization of your humble assault rifle, you can create something almost futuristic, plunging enemies into terror. Among other things, the modification includes the expansion of the store, the addition of a silencer, an increase in the rate of fire and armor-piercing, a decrease in recoil and, as a consequence, an increase in the accuracy of shooting. Here, as in a real war, every little thing matters.

As already mentioned, this game has more than three hundred types of melee weapons and firearms. It is the richest selection among online shooters today. No other MMOFPS even comes close to such a wealth of arsenal. There is probably everything that you have ever heard of: the M-16 rifle, the classic Thompson, the notorious Kalashnik, the legendary Uzi mini-machine gun, even a helicopter turret.

It is worth emphasizing that almost all weapons presented in the game are. Which, by the way, is quite consistent with the idea and spirit of Counter Strike, which captivated millions of gamers with its realism. No blasters or plasma cannons. Only real weapons, and with real characteristics of recoil, rate of fire, weight, etc. Of course, many of the initial performance characteristics can be improved, but within reasonable limits.

All weapons in the game are purchased only for temporary use outside the combat area. Ownership can, of course, be renewed with money won in battles. And you can buy a barrel for eternal disposal only for real rubles.

In a special store you can rent almost any accessories, weapons and ammunition: clips, optical and collimator sights. Some will have to pay with real money, and some - of course, not so impressive - are purchased with in-game currency.

For beginners, only a small choice is open, but gradually growing in rank (ranks in Combat Arms are analogous to levels), your opportunities will grow. You will be able to acquire more and more advanced weapons and participate in high-level battles on a par with the elite.

In addition to weapons, the store offers a huge selection of body armor, helmets, camouflage and other paraphernalia. You can also upgrade the abilities of your fighter, teach him to walk quietly, crawl movement and other techniques that will help you become a dangerous enemy for any enemy.

In battles, you can get a lot of useful parts, which can later be used in the special workshop of the Gun Emporium to upgrade your guns.

Also, in addition to weapons and equipment, you can purchase new characters. This might be helpful, since fighters differ not only in appearance, size and gender, but also in various characteristics, such as running speed or survivability.

In the armory, you can make and modify your own weapons

Also in Combat Arms there are explosives - from banal dynamite and mines to extremely ingenious devices consisting of plastids, timers, detectors and even a mobile phone. Here is everything that the most inveterate thug can dream of: fragmentation, smoke, gas and light-noise grenades, as well as means of neutralizing them.

There are a great many options for destroying opponents: they can be torn apart, pierced with a bayonet, chopped, shot and burned, using a variety of means, including a flamethrower or an exotic six-barreled machine gun. But the possibilities of hand-to-hand combat here are an order of magnitude less than, say, in Black Fire (Black Fire review), where you can finish off a wounded enemy not only with your fists, but also with your feet, as well as use something like fatality.

Combat Arms will hardly please the fans of edged weapons either. Yes, here you can wield an ax, a knife and a bayonet, but no frills. Of course, Kombat Arms is far from the capabilities of the great online shooter Warframe, where you can even throw a spear at enemies, nailing them to the wall, but there is something to strive for.

Conclusion

Brawler's inventory

Summing up, I want to tell you briefly why Combat Arms is so popular, not only in Russia, but also in foreign countries? In particular, it is known that in Europe and the United States there are already about a million avid fans of combat adventures killing each other in the vastness of the Combat Arms world. What's the secret here?

One of the key advantages of the publisher of the game is the grandiose choice of arsenal. Indeed, three hundred weapons is a bar currently unmatched by any other online game. And for any MMO action movie, this indicator is especially important.

The second advantage is that this game is a kind of ideological heir to the world famous cult shooter Counter-Strike. But what this connection is manifested in is not quite noticeable. In my opinion, in these games there are much more differences than similarities, although a certain atmosphere undoubtedly makes these projects related.

On my own I will add a couple more pluses. Although real money in the game gives an advantage, freeloaders will not feel left out. In the game, it is not uncommon for ordinary players to knock down donators hung with expensive armor, because in the end everything depends on your skill and combat talent. In addition, the game physics is made at a high level: when shooting, the recoil of the butt is almost felt. And explosions with smoke and stone fragments make a disturbing impression.

At the end, it is always interesting to study the statistics of the battle, as well as to see the buns that were given to you for the victory

The disadvantages of the game are low-quality graphics by modern standards and the variable dominance of cheaters, who for some reason really fell in love with this game. The matter, apparently, is in a relatively merciful attitude on the part of the administration of the game, which rarely takes such measures as a life ban with the confiscation of everything acquired against violators. Although, how can honest players not be annoyed by the situation when some bastard firing stupidly on the sides, and bullets, like homing missiles, fly right on target? What can we say about such typical cheating tricks as passing through walls and indestructible armor, from which bullets bounce off like peas. However, the age of a cheater in the game is not long. After the second warning, cheaters are usually banished from the game forever.

The second disadvantage is the excessive traditional character of the game. Too much of it seems standard and canonical. You will not see here either a plot, or military equipment, or video tracks that dilute the monotony of passing missions. But is all this necessary in a game that many players value precisely for its optimized design, lightness and low system requirements? Great question.

So, if you ask me if this game is worth wasting time, then there will be no definite answer. It is unlikely that this shooter will appeal to those who appreciate graphics and physics in games, because there is nothing to admire in this game. Liquid landscapes and faceted characters spoil the impression. Combat Arms may not be the coolest shooter in terms of graphics (in my opinion, Warframe's graphic design is an order of magnitude better, and even Black Fire - even more so), but it has its advantages that put this game on a par with the leaders of the genre. So, if for some reason Black Fire or Warframe does not start for you, then play Combat Arms for health, it's worth it.

A unique third-person shooter, a product from the authors of the cult Counter Strike Online, will now delight Runet users as well. The development was undertaken by the Korean specialists of the Nexon studio, who managed to prove that they know a lot about games of this kind.

Scenario

At first glance, one gets the impression that we have a somewhat pumped-up Counter Strike, but this is not at all the case. Don't let the updated textures and characters fool you, because the gaming capabilities are increased threefold compared to CS.

V Combat ARMS you will see a huge arsenal of weapons, completely updated locations, as well as a specialization recruitment system that allows you to transform each hero at your discretion. All in all, the game is a completely revamped Counter Strike, with some RPG additions.

Introduction

Everything starts in a standard way - you enter the game, choose a character, paint it at your discretion, choose a weapon from the initial list and join the battle in one of the provided arenas.

At the beginning of the game, only 10-15 weapons are available, but with an increase in rank, you will unlock new combat units, including machine guns, machine guns, grenade launchers, etc. In total, the player will be able to try about 300 weapons. Most of them can be purchased for in-game currency, but some of the more interesting ones can only be purchased for real money.

They can have unique properties such as stealth, accuracy, or increased power. But if you want to play completely for free, then you can earn yourself on such a barrel, however, for this you have to sweat a lot, since it is very difficult to get money in the game.

Pumping

In addition to buying weapons, you can also modify it. Honestly, it makes no sense to sit for a long time and pump any one barrel, since the store is overflowing with a variety of weapons of the most inconceivable power and specificity. You also need to invest in upgrading weapons, so think carefully about whether to upgrade an existing assault rifle or save money for a more powerful stock sample.

Peculiarities

Combat ARMS has a rank system that allows you to unlock new weapons, equipment or character superpowers. The title also allows you to increase your ranking in the overall standings. Try to get the rank of captain as quickly as possible, because it is from this position that the most interesting begins - the lion's share of weapons and features becomes available, so that you can roam to the fullest.

After that, the most incredible modes open, such as invisibility, increased speed, accuracy, power and some cheating techniques, but this is only after the award of the highest rank.

Gameplay

The abundance of game modes in Combat ARMS dilutes the gameplay somewhat. The following types of battles are available here:

  • Quarantine Mode- quite an interesting mode in which some of the players become zombies and try to infect their former colleagues. The difficulty lies in the fact that zombies have an increased level of health and do not want to die in any way, so the fighters will have to use all their power and ingenuity to win the battle;
  • Fireteam mode- standard combat mode, in which a team of 8 real users fight against 8 bots. This mode was introduced to dilute the gameplay with primitive artificial intelligence;
  • Spy hunt- the most addicting mode. There are 4 suitcases scattered on the map, which must be collected. Grabbing one of the four suitcases, the user transforms into an agent wearing a black suit. After collecting all 4 items, the player is equipped with impenetrable armor and one of three types of weapons: a machine gun, a grenade launcher or a flamethrower, in order to take revenge on his former partners.

Locations

Combat ARMS has 15 locations, each of which has a huge number of interactive elements that help in the process of the game. Any bush, block or tree can be used here. Although there are not many maps, each of them is a wide field of battles, where up to 50 players can meet at the same time.

It's important to know!

The only negative point of the client can be called a low system of protection against cheaters. There are not too many of them here, but if at least one is caught at the location, then we can assume that the battle has already been lost.

However, if you notice one of these "hack", then you can use the VoteKick system, which allows you to remove an unfriendly user from the server. After several regular exceptions, this user will be blacklisted on the server and will never again be able to enter the game under his own nickname, thus, all his achievements are automatically canceled.

Appearance

The graphics in Combat ARMS are pretty good. Of course, she has long stepped over the capabilities of CS and can please with dynamically illuminated details and highly detailed locations. After modifying a weapon, you will immediately notice changes in its appearance, which, in principle, is logical.

The game uses the engine of the famous cult game F.E.A.R, which means there is no need to complain about the graphics. The special effects of the explosions, which are superbly orchestrated here, deserve special praise.

Alternative

A product similar to Combat ARMS can be called the development of the same military theme, the futuristic Total Influence game, which is more a strategy than a shooter. However, despite its specificity, it can give you many hours of uninterrupted gameplay thanks to a well-thought-out system of character leveling and the organization of platoons.

In the post-apocalyptic world of Total Influence, you will find a huge amount of resources that can be used for character development. If you're tired of the constant gunfights in Combat ARMS, you can try your hand at Total Influence and develop real combat tactics.

Conclusion

Generally, Combat ARMS turned out to be quite decent. If you're bored with Call of Duty's heavy multiplayer and want a little more Battlefield experience, then this shooter is for you.

Game Servers Guide

In this guide, we will introduce you to all the Combat Arms game servers and tell you about the development path that every fighter must go through to achieve high ranks in the game.

Lucky Seven

Combat Arms has seven game servers in total:

  1. Lovers.

    Sergeants (Classic, Alpha).

  2. Brave soldiers (Simplified rules).

All servers have their own characteristics and restrictions that relate to the rank of the player, the ratio of murders and deaths, etc. The full list of servers is available from the "Quick Start Menu" and "Game Lobby", which can be viewed by pressing the "Servers" button.

On this diagram, you can see what rank you need to get to get on a particular server:

The basics

Having created your fighter, you will automatically be taken to the Novice server, intended for recruits. On this server there are concessions that help beginners gain the knowledge and skills necessary to continue playing at higher levels. We are talking about an increased number of game points received by 100% and gained experience by 20%. Having reached the rank of "Senior Sergeant 1st Rank", the player will not be able to enter the "Novice" server.

Career advancement

If a soldier successfully performs in 10-16 battles, he will receive the rank of "Sergeant", and from that moment he will be able to choose the game servers himself. The main ones are "Amateurs" and "Sergeants (Classic, Alpha)", which differ from each other in the maximum ratio of kills and deaths (hereinafter U / S) of the player: for the "Amateurs" server this value is equal to 1.20, so fighters who are still are not very familiar with the game and cannot resist more experienced players. A coefficient of 1.20 means that the player has committed 12 kills and 10 deaths. If you want to get this figure, then simply divide the number of kills you committed by the number of deaths of your fighter.

Server "Sergeants (Classic, Alpha)" - this is the first real test for any beginner fighter: the maximum ratio of kills and deaths on this server is set at around 20.00. This means that here the sergeant can come face to face with the captain. This server is more popular than "Amateurs", as it has the most open access barrier - any player with the rank from sergeant to general of the army, with any D / S rating, can enter here. Diligent play on the Sergeants server is the surest way to success and improve your combat skills. For battles here you need good equipment, so if you have not yet reached the rank of "Senior Sergeant 1st Rank", we recommend that you stay on the "Novice" server in order to accumulate more game points and buy good equipment.

Gentlemen officers

Having received the title "Senior Warrant Officer 1st Rank" (SPR1), you can go to the "Officers" server, where high-level fighters gather. By playing here, they receive substantial bonuses to experience and points - an additional 15% increase. But keep in mind, if your Y / S ratio is less than 0.90 and more than 20.00, then you will not be allowed on this server. In this case, we advise you to hone your skills on the "Amateurs" and "Sergeants" servers. Due to severe constraints associated with the management / S ratio, "Officers" are less popular than other servers.

Extended capabilities

If you took part in the battles on all the previous servers, and you wanted variety, then pay attention to the other three servers: "VIP", "Clans" and "Brave Soldiers".

VIP open to everyone, regardless of rank and ratio of murders and deaths. It has the only limitation on the GN Rating - the minimum indicator must be in the “Bronze” status, to achieve which it is enough to purchase 250 GN-coins. In return, when playing on the server, you will receive 30% more game points and experience.

Clans - This is a highly specialized server created specifically for clan-to-clan battles. In this regard, it has a corresponding restriction: access here is open only to players who are members of a clan. As for the rest, there are no restrictions. Note that conducting team battles on this server is a priority for any soldier in a clan, as well as an excellent way to learn a well-coordinated and tactical game, improve your financial condition in Combat Arms and increase the level of not only your character (the amount of experience and game points gained increased by 20%), but also the clan in which he is a member.

Brave soldiers (Simplified rules) - an entertainment server open to all fighters who have reached the rank of "Petty Officer 2nd Rank" (CTA2). While fighting on the map, players must collect boxes that appear randomly. After picking up such an item, a soldier will receive a random positive effect with a different duration - from increased armor to turning into a zombie. For the effect to disappear, you need to wait a while, or pick up another box.
