As a gamer with more than 25 years of experience, I could not pass by when I saw this console. The main goal is to play comfortably in good old 8 bit games like battletoads, Super Mario, dances and other immortal classics. Yes, you can not spend money, but just install the emulator on android smartphone, download roms with games and play. But, on the touch screen, playing 8-bit games that require dexterity and speed is not convenient. And in some it is simply not possible. In addition, it was interesting to introduce the 6 year old son to the games of his childhood, because modern games although they are beautiful in terms of graphics, but for the most part they are absolutely boring and not interesting ... There was also an idea to buy an ordinary set-top box, such as a dandy for connecting to a TV, they are still on sale. But a low resolution on a 40-inch TV will look just awful, and you can't drag it with you, unlike a console. In essence, these consoles differ from each other only in built-in free memory and firmware, and so - in principle, the same thing. Therefore, after reading the review about the Chinese game console Gameplayer psp MP5, you will have an idea of ​​the possibilities of other Chinese portable set-top boxes not on android.
There are many things beyond words, so along with the text version, I prepared a video review, in which, among other things, you can watch the gameplay and playability of some popular games.

As they say, they are greeted by their clothes, which turned out to be modest. A box without identification marks, without information about the model, manufacturer, etc. Just a print of the game console.

Only on the side are color options and the amount of built-in memory. Nothing more) Based on this, it turns out that the manufacturer is a Chinese basement, as a result of which there may be surprises ... Although I have already withstood 2 weeks of intensive use.


The package bundle is quite extensive. There is a tiny instruction with a description of the main features and a supposedly 1 year warranty card. The console is also equipped with a charger with a declared charge current of 1A, but in truth, the charger is very cheap and hardly gives out even half of the declared current, which can be seen from long-term charging. Although it does not heat up. A usb cable for connecting to a computer is also available in the box, in addition to data transfer, it may also be needed for charging - the console can be charged from usb. But that's not all. The caring Chinese have put in the kit a simple headphone, a disc with useful software and games, and even a cable for connecting the set-top box to the TV. But with the cable there was an embarrassment. Firstly, its length is only 80 centimeters. Just think about it))) You need to stand almost right next to the TV ... Obviously a delusional idea, you need to use some kind of extension cord, I think it will not be difficult to buy wires and adapters in the nearest shop of radio parts and electronics. But that's not all - I was never able to connect the console to the TV, perhaps it only connects to old models, pot-bellies with a kinescope. Modern 40 inch samsung refused to display the image on the screen. Well, okay)

Appearance the game console is almost completely copied from Sony's psp with minor changes.

On the right side, a block of start, select buttons and volume control have been added. Game buttons in a familiar place.

On the left side there is a stick and arrow buttons - everything is like the original. The buttons are pressed softly, it is convenient to play.

The back is also similar to the original, but there is no inscription. But they put on a sticker from which it is clear that the console has 8 gigabytes of memory and there is a radio.

On the right side is the camera lens. The 10 megapixel caption is highly exaggerated. Maximum 1 megapixel. The quality of the photo is just awful, I do not even recommend trying to shoot something with the built-in camera - the maximum toy for children.

The speaker is located on the left. The sound is very loud but squeaky. Comfortable to use at 50 - 60% volume.

There are connectors: for connecting to TV, usb for connecting to a pc and a headphone jack.

The switch was placed on the right side.

There is a slot for expanding memory with micro sd cards. I went to 8 gig without problems.

Here I took an original PSP from Sony from a friend to take a picture nearby. As you can see, the dimensions, design, layout of buttons and stick are very similar.

But naturally inside they are completely different and are similar only in ergonomics. Chinese psp is designed exclusively for nes and gba games. Ie good old platformers toys. Therefore, we go straight to the most interesting. But first, a few words should be said about the screen. Its diagonal is only 4.3 inches and the resolution is 480 * 270. The resolution is low, some graininess is noticeable. But the old games do not have high resolution so the games look organic. Games are displayed in full screen.
When turned on, you will be shown a short splash screen, the console will boot and you will find yourself on the desktop. Most are occupied by the shortcuts of the installed games. At the bottom, you can select different console functions. The interface is clear and not complicated. There is a Russian language, which can be set in the settings, but the clumsy translation has tilted my choice in favor of English.

There are already 2,000 games built into the console. But the Chinese wouldn't be Chinese if they didn't fool us in the usual way. It's like there were 999 in 1 cartridges before. So here - there are only a couple of hundred games, and then they are repeated in a circle. And only a couple of dozen interesting ones and a whole bunch of some kind of Chinese slag.

But this is absolutely not a problem, because on the network you can find absolutely any game, download and play it on the console. You need to download games in nes or gba format. There are entire websites dedicated to such games. I found all the games that interest me without any problems.

At the beginning of the review, I posted a video version in which I ran some games, such as tanks, black cloak, Felix the cat. Everything works very well and smartly. Playing them, I plunged into my childhood, when I could play super mario for more than one hour or shoot ducks with a light pistol. In addition to games, the console can do something else. For example, there is a player with which you can listen to music. It even has equalizer settings, but I didn't like the sound - there is little bass.

More useful may be a video player that reads the avi format. Throwing the series into memory, you can pass the time on a long train ride. But on the street it is absolutely impossible to make out something on the screen - there is not enough brightness, and the screen is installed here a simple TFT with small viewing angles. Autonomy is also not high, at maximum brightness with the volume output through the main speaker, the console works for a couple of hours. Although if you buy it for a child - this is a plus, you can control the time of the game)) It is charged both through the adapter and through usb in a couple of hours.

Well, in general, that's all that you can tell interesting about the console. Its main feature is a comfortable game of 8-bit toys and I am 100 percent satisfied with this function. The rest - an audio / video player, radio, camera and other functions are, in my opinion, an optional addition that any modern one can handle better smartphone. With everything except the convenience of the game)) For a couple of weeks I played enough with it, went through a couple of my favorite games, showed the games of my childhood to my son and successfully threw it on the table, where it will lie until the next attack of nostalgia.
