World of Tank update release. Updates

 • 27.04.2020

Wargaming releases a new patch for World of Tanks approximately every two to three months. Last on this moment (September 2014) Update 9.2 was released on July 29, 2014. Less than two months later, Wargaming released a new patch 9.3. Patch 9.3 testing is in full swing. Players of the RU-cluster can try out "fresh" light tanks in battle, as well as experience the new "punitive system" on themselves. In addition, the update will have interesting advantages for premium tanks, deteriorate the characteristics of a couple of fan vehicles (British ACS FV304, American tank destroyer M18), and also remove the popular KV-1S from the game. Rather, this tier 6 supertank will be divided into 2 tanks, as it once was with a conventional KV. But every time a patch is released, players have to update the game. How to update World of Tanks and do it right?

Basically, there are two ways to update the World of Tanks game:

 • through the game launcher;
 • using a special file client.patch.download.

Let's analyze both methods and decide how best to update the game.

True, for a start it is worth saying that all updates must be downloaded only from the official site of the game http://worldoftanks.ru. By downloading patches from other sites or torrents, you expose your game account to the risk of being hijacked. Several patches ago, the game was updated in another way: the patch was downloaded as a regular exe-file and installed over the client. Wargaming refused this method of updating, since the subsequent conversion of game files took a huge amount of time, and after installing the exe-shnik the game client often "crashed".

So, if a new patch has been released, then you can update the client as follows: start the game launcher and wait for the files to download.

Launcher will automatically download everything required files and install the update.

Updates can be up to three gigabytes. So, if you have a slow internet connection, downloading updates for the game will take longer. In this case, you have a choice: directly download the files of the new patch from the "Wargaming" server or use a torrent to update.

Another way to update the game client is as follows: you download a special file in the format "patch_client.patch.download" and copy it into a special folder of the game client. You can get a link to download this file on the official website of the game http://worldoftanks.ru/ru/content/guide/general/frequently_asked_questions/#ways_to_load.

After downloading the client.patch.download file, you need to copy it to the Updates directory located at C: / Games / World_of_Tanks. After that, you need to start the game launcher, and the updates will be automatically installed.

The answer to the question of how to update WoT has been received. It remains to remember a few useful tips... When updating the game client, it is better to disable the firewall and antivirus, as well as all programs that consume the Internet in "unlimited quantities" - torrent clients and downloaders. The fewer programs will load the Internet channel, the faster you will update the client. As for the installation time of new updates, it all depends on their size and the hardware of your computer. Sometimes the installation can take up to half an hour.

What's new on OT 1.6:
1. Added personal reserves to speed up development on the "Front Line":
- Within general test a new type of personal reserves has been added, increasing the amount of frontline experience for the ranks received in battles in the "Frontline" mode.
- Reserve: + 100% to frontline experience per battle for 1 hour.
For example, earning the rank of "General" in battle, you will receive 2,400 frontline experience instead of the base 1,200.
There are 3 sets in total:
+ 100% to frontline experience per battle for 1 hour (1 pc.)
+ 100% to frontline experience per battle for 1 hour. (3 pcs.)
+ 100% to frontline experience per battle for 1 hour. (6 pcs.)
Sold for gold, the price in gold is still a test one.
- Validity: 1 hour.

2. Within the framework of the general test, the ability to obtain and test reserves is implemented:
- From July 18th, Frontline is available on the general test, which will last until the end of the test.
- For any battle in random battles, one personal reserve is now awarded per frontline experience.
- For winning random battle another personal reserve is issued.
- In the in-house store of the general test client, personal reserves are available for purchase for game gold (Shop ==> Service ==> Personal Reserves).

Tank premium account.

Reworked the logic for calculating a controlled bonus to experience for a tank premium. Now additional experience will be credited to the crew according to the same rules as it is credited for a battle:
a) If the checkbox for accelerated crew training is not enabled before the battle (or is absent), then part of the experience goes to the crew, the rest is credited to the vehicle.
b) If the checkbox for accelerated crew training is enabled, then all experience is distributed among the crew.
... The conditions under which the bonus can be applied have been changed (all of the following must be observed):
c) The last victorious battle on the selected vehicle.
d) This car is in the Hangar (not sold, rent not completed, etc.)
e) The crew is sitting on it full complementwhere this battle took place.
f) The current state of the accelerated crew training checkbox is the same as before the battle.

On the map "Robin", the spotting point was balanced: trees that interfered with reconnaissance from the positions of the northern team were removed.

Changes to wheeled vehicles.

Optimization of engine settings has been performed.
a) When switching between driving modes, wheeled vehicles will no longer lose engine traction. This is especially true when switching the driving mode from maneuverable to high-speed. With such a switch, there will be no more deceleration before acceleration. Now, in such cases, the car will simply begin to accelerate to a higher speed.
... When changing the modes of movement of wheeled vehicles, the wheels now rise and fall more realistically.
... Optimization of motion physics settings.
b) When wheeled vehicles collide with obstacles, in some cases it will become easier to regain control of the trajectory.
... Added the ability to switch modes of movement of wheeled vehicles during the pre-battle countdown. A similar opportunity will also become available for Swedish tank destroyers.

As new information becomes available, this post will be supplemented.

Today we are talking about the rebalance of the USSR equipment.

In Update 9.22, we're bringing the nation's most unpopular tanks back to life by adding new technique and by changing the USSR research tree. Why is this needed? The Object 263 and its junior comrades rarely fought, as did the Soviet Tier X ST Object 430, which is not surprising. They were not easy to play. In addition, cars of different tiers differed too much in gameplay.

We plan to rework the aforementioned vehicle branches in order to breathe life into the listed vehicles and make the game on them consistent and understandable. In addition, in version 9.22 you will find new gameplay on Tier VIII-X heavy tanks with a rear turret.

And now let's dwell in more detail on the changes and the reasons that led to them.

Medium tanks

The A -43 branch does not give an idea of what car will be played at level X. After getting acquainted with all the advantages and disadvantages of the ST with a rear turret position at the VII -IX levels, it was logical to expect similar gameplay at the top of the branch. However, instead you got the classic medium tank melee and disenchanted. Naturally, the popularity of the branch declined.

If you are in the process of exploring the branch that leads to Object 430, keep in mind that this vehicle with exit 9.22 will "move" to another branch (which will be pumped from the T-44). Consider this information.

What will make you give this thread a second chance? Perhaps what she was missing: the gameplay sequence. This is what we focused on in Update 9.22, moving Object 430 to Tier IX. There he will form a mini-branch of well-armored assault mediums with high one-time damage, pumped from the T-44. And at the X level, absolutely new car: "Object 430U".

The newcomer can boast of compact size, decent mobility and good booking. He will easily enter the enemy's flank, disable his equipment due to high one-time damage, and get out from under fire unharmed.

The rear turret trio will eventually get a top that will inherit the solid armor of the turret and offer a logical one after "Object 430 Option II" gameplay.

New branch of heavy tanks

Until recently, Great Britain and Germany were the only nations where Tier X TTs had a rear turret. Some of you liked these cars, while others preferred the more traditional version. However, few would undertake to argue that the FV 215b, Pz.Kpfw. VII and VK 72.01 (K) (which was issued for playing on the Global Map) were not interesting. In Update 9.22, this group will be joined by Soviet vehicles: you will find a new gaming experience from the classic Soviet heavy vehicles at Tiers VIII-X (a branch learned from IS). Classic, but with a rear turret.

The well-armored IS-M, Object 705 and Object 705A will receive higher one-time damage than usual for Soviet heavy tanks... This value is compensated by the aiming parameters: these vehicles are not adapted for long-range firefights. Their element is battles at medium and close range. However, this is not the main thing - the rear location of the tower is important. Combined with strong armor, good mobility (for this type of vehicle) and a powerful weapon, it will allow you to easily "re-tank" the enemy.

Use the advantages of your vehicle - and you will be able to effectively support the attack or send enemy tanks breaking through to the Hangar. The gameplay of these TTs is a cross between playing on the Pz.Kpfw. VII and IS-7, but it remains unchanged as you explore the branch. The same cannot be said about the firepower: from the 122mm gun at Tier VIII to the powerful 152mm gun at the Object 705A.

Players love the agile assault T-10, which quickly shifts the focus of the attack, demolishing everything in its path. However, good as it was, it did not fit into the IS-3 and IS-7 group, so we replaced it with Object 257. Don't worry, the T-10 won't leave the game. Over the years, he has repeatedly proved his effectiveness, so he will receive a mini-branch, where at Tier X there will be a car with the same gameplay. We are still working on this newcomer, so we will tell about him later.

Alternative branch of tank destroyers

We have long planned to put this tank destroyer branch in order. A simple change in the parameters of the machines did not give the expected result. We are well aware of the problem, and we have found a new solution for it: rebalancing the branch into medium-close range assault tank destroyers.

Concept

 • High forward / reverse speed combined with medium maneuverability will allow these vehicles to quickly reach and take key positions, as well as get out of fire.
 • Good frontal armor is ideal for blocking enemy projectiles, however, the armor of the sides and lower frontal part is quite thin.
 • Average one-time damage and long cooldown will compensate for mobility and protection.
 • Accuracy and aiming times are designed for effective close and medium range combat and are not suitable for long range fire.
 • Not the most comfortable depression angles of the gun are caused by the design features.

Rebalancing the branch in accordance with the given concept required some structural changes. We started by transferring Object 263 to a lower level, where it can prove itself thanks to its damage per minute and armor (after all, it remained the same as at level X!). The next step is to select the appropriate vehicle for Tier X, and this role was "Object 268 Option 4"... He received good speed, armor and an extremely effective 152 mm gun with an average one-time damage of 650 HP.

Object 263 and "Object 268 Option 4" have shown excellent results in internal tests. The vehicles “tanked” the damage well and proved themselves worthy in the role of assault tank destroyers - fast, armored, with moderate one-time damage and not too high damage per minute for a tank destroyer.

You were against the move of Object 263 to Tier IX, and we couldn't ignore it. Therefore, we left both machines for one more iteration of closed internal testing. Object 263 has not changed, but we have reduced the one-time damage "Object 268 Option 4" from 750 to 650 HP, while maintaining the previous value of damage per minute to smooth out the sharp change in one-time damage and reload speed between Tier VIII and X vehicles.

The last (and probably the most difficult) task was to configure vehicles at medium levels for the role of assault tank destroyers of close and medium combat. The SU-122-54 did not fit into this concept due to the traditional location of the wheelhouse. Here we were faced with a difficult choice: the car was clearly not suitable for the branch in terms of gameplay, but it was important from a historical point of view. We moved it down one level to see how it performs there. Unfortunately, the vehicle showed low efficiency in blocking damage even at Tier VIII and still did not fit into the concept of the gameplay of the branch. Therefore, we decided to withdraw the SU-122-54 from the game and make a branch entirely of vehicles with a rear turret.

The second iteration of the supertest reinforced our belief that the concept we chose for the branch would give these tank destroyers what they were missing. These should be armored fast vehicles with good one-time damage, the purpose of which is to lead the breakthrough and provide interesting game process... The latter assumption is based on supertest data. We want you to test this hypothesis yourself, determine if any more changes are needed, and together we will make the best decision. Let's wait for the start of the general test of Update 9.22 and find out how ready the vehicles of this branch are for battle!

During the general test of version 9.22, which is coming soon, we will monitor your feedback and statistics. We want to make sure that the modified cars show the game that we expect from them.

World of Tanks developers have a lot of plans for the coming 2018. The closest of them is the release of update 9.22 World of Tanks. The main emphasis is placed on Soviet technology. Branches PT, ST and TT are radically changed.

When 9.22 is released World of Tanks?

From the grandiose event WG FEST 2017, it became known that the next update of the patch will be 9.22 WoT, and already in March 2018 we can expect world of tanks 1.0 (a game with new HD maps).

And also do not forget to check how well the available hardware can pull HD cards, for this use World of Tanks enCore and test new engine and your computer power.

Release date - update 1.5

General test of update 9.22

The general test of the 9.22 update is scheduled for release in February 2018.

Due to numerous requests from players, the branch of Soviet AT with a rear wheelhouse will be redesigned. Of course, the main prize here is Object 263 - a powerful and interesting machine, however, the branch itself is generally problematic and not playable. Therefore, the developers have planned the following changes:

 • SU-101 and SU-101M1 remain in place, however, they will be modernized.
 • SU-122-54 will disappear from the upgradeable branch. This vehicle does not correspond to the logic of the development of the branch, having a standard cabin layout, weak armor and a relatively low amount of XP. Due to these design features, the car could not withstand the majority of classmates on equal terms.
 • Object 263 "moves" to the 9th level.
 • Object 268 Option 4 - will be the new top.

Changes are also planned for the medium tank branch. In particular, the game will develop 3 branches with unique gameplay and combat characteristics:

Good news for fans too soviet heavyweights... Starting from the KV-13, an additional line of heavy tanks with a rear turret will be developed. Three fundamentally new machines will appear here: IS-2SH, Object 705 and Object 705A.

In many respects, these vehicles resemble the legendary IS-7, but offer a fundamentally new gameplay.

New premium tanks

The developers plan to carry out large-scale work on premium tanks with a reduced battle level. Often, beneficiaries are unable to counter their classmates equally. This is due to the fact that pumped vehicles are regularly improved, and the characteristics of premium tanks do not change. This problem requires a complex solution, however, it must be implemented gradually in order to avoid imbalance in the game.

Game modes

New game modes will be added to the game, which will help make the gameplay more vivid and rich. In addition, changes are expected in many liked ranked battles... There will be some revisions here game mechanics, which will allow achieving healthy competition at key stages. In particular:

 • The chevrons will be awarded to the players of both teams, however, the winners will receive more chevrons.
 • The ranking system will be increased, but will keep the general concept of the second season.
 • The received ranks will now persist even after unsuccessful battles, but players will have to defend their current status on the battlefields.
 • The duration of the stages will be increased, therefore, you will not have to sit at the computer all day to achieve certain results. This solution is aimed at the efficiency of the players.

What to expect in update 9.22

In addition to the above changes, the game has other improvements planned, changes in development branches and much more.

How vouchers will be earned

New options for obtaining an alternative game currency... Bonds are now received for epic rewards and achievements earned when playing on level 9-10 cars. In addition, you can earn currency in the general battle mode and on global map... However, keeping in mind their promises, the developers have planned several additional ways to get hold of bonds, and are considering the possibility of spending them on purchasing equipment and modifying the appearance of cars.

Events

In 2018, World of Tanks will have new atmospheric events similar to New Year's Offensive and Invasion of the Leviathan. A more extensive list of available rewards will be implemented here, including the opportunity to receive bonuses for certain achievements. We add that in the summer there will be tank football competitions, which many players liked.

On December 12, update 0.9.12 for WoT is released. Last update completely ready this year! Celebrate this day in your calendar and join us, while in the meantime we will tell you in detail about the upcoming update.

World of Tanks is celebrating the end of 2017 with a redesigned appearance customization system, a new branch of French heavy tanks, as well as long-awaited balance changes for British tank destroyers and new card for general battles. You will definitely have something to do. Now let's get down to business.

What's new?

Recycling of tank destroyers of Great Britain

The British branch of tank destroyers with fixed deckhouses was not popular due to armor vulnerabilities. In Update 9.21, we will improve their frontal and side armor, so that they can take their place among the assault tank destroyers. These changes should strengthen their role as fire support vehicles that can block damage and grind the enemy due to their high rate of fire.
New British vehicle at Tier X:.

Not very well suited for the role of an assault vehicle capable of taking close combat. But this role was supposed to be a distinctive feature of the branch, especially after the rework. To make the gameplay of British tank destroyers consistent across the entire branch, we have replaced the "bum" with the FV217 Badger. The newcomer will inherit all the distinctive features from its predecessors, but will have higher firepower and armor, offering a unique gaming experience at Tier X.

If you have already purchased the FV215b (183), then with the release of Update 9.21 it will remain with you and will be transferred to the category special machines... You will also receive Badger for free.

New heavy tanks of France

The new branch of French heavy tanks will start with a vehicle. Each newcomer will get two top guns to choose from: the first with higher one-time damage, and the second with a higher rate of fire, which will allow players to abandon the "shoot and hide" tactics often imposed by the game on heavy tanks in France. But that's not all: the new trinity is distinguished by decent thickness of the frontal armor of the hull and turret. The excellent depression angle of the gun and a decent margin of safety will allow you to stay alive in the midst of the battle, as well as contribute to the victory of the team.
is a tough nut to crack in France.

Start your research new branch heavy tanks of France with AMX M4 mle. 54. He has a fairly strong frontal armor and offers a choice of two top weapons, which will completely depend on your play style. The rapid-fire 120mm gun will make you a real "tank destroyer" from the second line. Love swapping melee shots? Your choice is a 130mm gun with high burst damage. Choose the weapon that suits your playing style more. And if you get tired of playing with one, just install another.

New map for general battles

If you have studied every bush on the Nebelburg map and have repeatedly asked to expand the list of available maps for general battles, version 9.21 will delight you with a size of 1.4 by 1.4 km. This new arena was created specifically for the battle type "General Battle", it also offers standard and oncoming battles. This card will transfer tank battles to North America and plunge you into the atmosphere of tales of the gold rush in Alaska and the Yukon. On the Klondike you will find a densely built mining town, open areas and an abandoned mining settlement. Different types of terrain will provide you with many opportunities for tactical maneuvers for each class of vehicles and will definitely not make you bored. Check out detailed overviewto find out what awaits you!

New mechanics for changing the appearance

As you already know, during 2018 we will rework the mechanics of changing the appearance of vehicles into a more complex system, which will allow you to give your car a unique style. Patch 9.21 lays the foundation for this by adding styles and designating vehicle zones that you can change yourself. Now you can paint the hull, turret, gun, chassis and gun mantlet separately, choose the size of the camouflage and give your vehicle a unique look using various effects.
