Something clearly did not go according to plan, even as soon as the work on the slasher Devil May Cry 4 began to boil. Capcom even had thoughts to completely erase the main character Dante. Everyone knows that this is a rather arrogant person, but at the same time, a very fair demon hunter. However, they failed to do this, because crowds of fans protested, so the developers had nowhere to go and Dante was still left. This fact confirms the company's desire for great change. Therefore, at the exit we have the son of Sparda, who has already managed to build up muscle mass and gain a little weight, and in addition to everything, he quit smoking and cut his bangs.

Continuing the review of DmC: Devil May Cry, I must immediately say that Dante is a very superficial character here, even though the famous screenwriter Alex Garland worked on the script, in whose arsenal there is work on the book "The Beach" and the script "28 days later" ... Although he had not been such before, at least sometimes he threw clear obscene jokes.

Regarding the plot, it will not surprise you with unexpected turns that change the course of events. You can even say that sometimes this fact is upsetting. But on the other hand, it is completely adapted to the movie filmed in Hollywood. There is a sharp difference from Dante - the hero japanese games and new. Everyone knows that Dante was a half-demon in previous episodes, and now he is a half-angel in combination. It should be borne in mind that the angelic weapon is very fast, but at the same time it does not have enough power. Therefore, it is best used on enemy units. And use the demonic when you need to carry out a strong sick blow to the enemy, but not very quickly. Then suddenly the staircase breaks off, and you did not have time to react with lightning speed, then the camera will direct its eye in the wrong direction, and so on. There are a lot of secret rooms and other shelters, but it is very difficult to jump to them, so you constantly fall into the abyss. On the one hand, you understand that it is not the developers' fault here, but on the other hand, this is still their defect.

Continuing our review of DmC: Devil May Cry, let's talk about the oddities of using the developers' ideas. There are good ideas, but they are very rarely used. For example, during one of the first missions, you will find yourself in a room with surveillance cameras that look like demonic eyes. So, until you pull them out, you cannot go anywhere. However, this idea was used only once in the entire game. There is also another scene that the director did a great job on: chasing a car that had to be pulled out of various troubles, and Dante was all the time between Limbaugh and reality. Great idea, but very short implementation.

One gets the impression that Ninja Theory was afraid and did not fully believe in themselves. There are many original designs throughout the game and game situations, but they are not used to the maximum or run out very early.

At the end of the review of DmC: Devil May Cry, we can summarize that the game turned out to be stylistically successful with the original virtual reality, wherein combat system well thought out. But due to flaws in the design of levels, banal bosses and completely unrealized ideas, it becomes insulting. However, with all this, these small flaws in general do not spoil the overall impression of this amazingly addictive game.
