Want to play with a friend but don't know how to connect a second controller to your PlayStation 4? Don't worry, everything is as easy as shelling pears. Anyone can enable support for a second gamepad on the console - Sony has made the process easy and effortless. Our article is here to help you figure out how to connect a second joystick to your PS4.

In our guide, we'll show you, step by step, how to connect a DualShock 4 to your set-top box. Let's say right away that there are two ways - wired and wireless, via Bluetooth.

Method number 1. How to connect a joystick to PS4 via USB cable

If you have not an original DualShock 4, but a controller from another manufacturer, which connects only by wire, then follow these instructions:

    press the power button on the PS4 console to turn on the device;

    insert the other end of the cable from the PS4 controller into the USB port of the set-top box;

    press the PS button (or its equivalent) on the controller and hold it for three seconds;

    your wired PS4 controller should now be connected to the console.

If your controller supports wireless, then follow these steps:

    turn on the PS4;

    connect the micro-connector of the USB cable to your PS4 controller. The microUSB port is located on the back of the device;

    connect the other end of your USB cable to the set-top box;

    press the PS button for 3 seconds;

    the wireless controller should now be registered with the STB. You can unplug the USB cable and play wirelessly.

    this way you can register the second, third and fourth controllers on the STB. Use the same USB cable, repeat the above steps and bind a new user to the controller from the home screen.

Method number 2. How to connect a joystick to PS4 wirelessly

If you want to connect a second controller to your set-top box, but you don't have a USB cable, you can still register the device. Follow these instructions:

    From the PS4 home screen, select Properties> Devices> Bluetooth Devices (using another DualShock 4 controller or remote).

    on the controller you want to connect, hold down simultaneously SHARE and PS buttons for 10 seconds.

Hold down the buttons marked with red frames

    look at the screen. The gamepad should appear in the list of available Bluetooth devices. Choose it.

    everything - your controller is now connected to the console. Enjoy the game!

Which PS4 controller should you choose?

In this article, we'll also show you what kinds of DualShock 4 controllers are available on PS4. First of all, it is worth highlighting Crossfire gamepad from GearZ studio.

DualShock 4 Crossfire - The Choice For Professional Gamers

This is a custom controller built on the basis of the original DualShock 4. The device is ideal for fans of online battles, as well as for those who want more comfortable and responsive controls in games. GearZ has been rebuilding gamepads for a long time, and the DualShock 4 Crossfire is one of their best achievements. The gamepad differs from the original control device by the presence of petals on the back of the case. The petals are made of ABS plastic and are firmly attached to the body. Their main function is to duplicate the main buttons on the front side (all except L2, R2, OPTIONS, SHARE and PS). Convenience and ergonomics of the controller are excellent - it fits perfectly in the hands.

The convenience of the controller can hardly be overestimated both in single projects and in network battles. So, you can assign jump or run functions to the petals from the front buttons. In games like Dark Souls, Bloodborne, Destiny, and many more, this dramatically increases the efficiency of the game. Now you do not need to rush your fingers across the gamepad in search of the desired button - they are always under the palm of your hand.

You may want to purchase a controller in a different color. Nobody disputes - the design of the original DualShock 4 is very stylish and the device immediately attracts attention with its grace and minimalistic beauty. However, not all gamers like black. DualShock 4 gamepads come in a variety of colors. Unique of its kind Bloody Mary gamepad from PiterPlay store will make you stand out as a gamer when you play together with friends. The body of the gamepad shimmers spectacularly in the light, and the bright red color justifies the stylish name. The controller has a soft-touch coating, and it is just pleasant to hold it while playing.

Bloody Mary by PiterPlay - a triumph of style and convenience

The plastic face buttons of the controller in this version have been replaced with metal ones to match the Lueger bullet style. The aluminum spider will also last longer than conventional plastic. Bloody Mary is the choice for gamers who value style and quality in accessories.

A lot of information about hacking PS4 has recently appeared on the Internet, but often these messages are a "duck".However, there is one way to play free games on the console. We must say right away that this is quite difficult to do, and our article is rather for informational purposes. From this text, you will find out if it is worth flashing PS4 and how the firmware works.

Generally speaking, the DualShock 4 controller is very well built and rarely needs to be repaired. If you need to change the appearance of the controller or change the part inside, then in this article we will tell you in detail how to disassemble the DualShock 4 controller.

Recently, complaints began to appear on the network about the inability to connect to PSN. For some, the network is working intermittently, others cannot connect to the Sony server at all, while the status status indicates that all services are working normally. In all likelihood, the problem lies in the recent attempt by Roskomnadzor to block the Telegram messenger. In this article, we will tell you how to bypass PSN blocking, as well as indicate the reason why PSN does not work for some players.

Now few people will remember, but back in 1993 on Super nintendo and Sega mega drive isometric racing arcade released Rock n 'Roll Racing from Blizzard... Tiny cars with huge wheels circled around bizarre arenas, trying, if not to overtake opponents, then at least push them off the track. Or blow up to hell.

Despite its simplicity, this game was addictive for many hours and gathered around the pot-bellied TV whole crowds of snapping seeds and whipping Pepsi-Cola kids, ready to literally fight for a place in the queue behind the controller. Perhaps the whole point is that the "magic of the Snowstorm", which turns each of their projects into a masterpiece, was already working then. Or was it a gorgeous soundtrack of rock compositions? Or maybe it was just that we were more impressionable, who knows ...

Be that as it may, it draws inspiration from Rock n 'Roll Racing - this is also an isometric arcade racing game about various tiny cars. Here they drive through vegetable gardens around flower pots and garden gnomes, cut circles on the sawmill, or try not to get caught in the syrup spilled on the table after some drunken party.

There are several game modes: simple races, knockout races, a battle for a dozen players, in which participants are offered battles in the "King of the Hill" format and something like capturing the flag, on the contrary, where you need to bring a ticking bomb to the enemy base to win.

There are 12 cars in total in the game, and each can perform a specific role: an ambulance can heal, a spy can become invisible, a snowmobile can throw snowballs, and a tank can just be a tank.

In classic round robin races, all cars are deprived of their unique abilities and instead of them they can pick up various power-ups scattered around the track.

The tracks are tiny: you can ride all five laps in two or three minutes. This is lousy, because almost all the tracks that are in the World Series, Codemasters dragged into the game from Toybox Turbos, making only minor changes to them.

All this is infinitely great, but in practice it is quite difficult to get up to car tricks: the controls in the game, to put it mildly, are not very responsive. Cars very often and very much drift: you can easily fly off the track from a slight push from your opponent, or you just don't fit into the turn. And then fall under the circular saw blade or drown in ice cream. Coupled with the chaos that often happens in arenas, you can safely forget about some tactics and just adjust to the situation.

It is for this reason that the outcome of the race often depends not so much on your ability to correctly enter the turns, so much on luck, which likes to turn in a soft spot at the most inopportune moment.

Codemasters tries to present the ability to play four on the same screen as a strong side - and this is correct, given the empty network mode, in which you can wait for a "live" opponent for several minutes. But the technical performance is lame: we were going in four noses in front of one TV, which on some tracks led to a noticeable loss in frame rate. The game could be easily forgiven for this, but the picture in it is rather primitive and, in theory, should not overload the graphics chips of the consoles.

An aggravating circumstance is the lack of a full-fledged single player campaign, or at least something similar to it, which forces players to seek solace in endless races against the "silicon". In fairness, it should be noted that the local artificial intelligence is quite good and shows itself on the tracks much better than most of the players we met.

Despite all the shortcomings, this is a very interesting game that will definitely appeal to most fans of the "old school". This is a kind-hearted project that sincerely tries to be more than what it is. The only pity is that in 2017 there are completely different quality standards, and ambitions and bright colors alone will not go far. That is why it becomes a victim of its own ambitions, and everything good that is in this game will become dust even before you find an opponent for the multiplayer game.

Do you remember the golden days when Rock "n" Roll Racing seemed the most beautiful game in the world? We would love to hear your stories from those times!

It looks like Codemasters is still not going to bury their favorite series.

"Good things never get old" - this slogan has recently become a key among more and more developers. Someone with might and main makes re-issues, others - remasters or remakes ... But there are companies that are engaged in stamping one or several episodes and do not blow away.

And why would? Profits are growing, costs are paid off by high circulations (and if the publication is digital, you can also save on production), which means there is nothing to worry about. Is this correct from the point of view of a simple player? Perhaps. But only if, with new parts, the series develops, and does not exploit a ready-made idea without significant changes.

And, apparently, the creators of the new Micro Machines they completely forgot about it.

The same goes for arenas. If you want a wider choice, follow the Skirmish.

Each rolling toy has a range of abilities available in the already mentioned Battle and Free-For-All. As a rule, this is a standard damage deal, some kind of support item and an additional type of weapon. There are also ultimates like calling for air reinforcements from Lt. Shields or transformation into a phoenix for El Incendio.

Actually Codemasters released the game unfinished in every sense of the word, to the detriment of an audience that truly loves the Micro Machines series. Curl your fingers: non-working matchmaking, monotony of modes, buying up customization of cars - already three weighty arguments not in favor of buying.

In addition, some arenas have almost entirely migrated from other similar races from the same developers. Toybox Turbos and looks like Micro Machines, and plays exactly the same, although it was released two and a half years ago. Well, the new Micro Machines World Series- just a game about a Hasbro license and a new generation of consoles. No more, no less.

The new part of the once cult series of miniature races just pretends to be such, but in fact turns out to be a candy wrapper. This time, the developers failed to play on nostalgia. Will there be other attempts - time will tell.

The early 90s turned out to be the pinnacle for the publisher of children's toys Galoob in the USA and Western Europe: under the auspices of the company, not only green soldiers and pistols with bullets popular among boys, but also collectible cars from the series, which are in demand in wide circles, came to the market from the assembly line Micro Machines.

But a severe crisis, especially merciless in relation to the most successful names, alas, did not bypass the side of a large manufacturer, leveling the popular brand to the ground. The only salvation for small machines was the computer industry, which was then rapidly gaining momentum.

26 years have passed since the first computer Micro Machines... During this time, the series managed to acquire several restarts, a number of cardinal changes and transformations. The result was that came straight out of the studio.

The creators assured right away: the new game, despite today's trends, will remain true to the series and will be correlated with the classic first part. This was due to the negative reaction of fans to the release on iOS - the game released on smartphones introduced strong differences from other games in the line.

The preservation of traditions is vividly noted in the recreation of the original cards: a billiard table, a garden and others. Each location has a number of features, the similarity reinforces the high complexity - you will need skill to go through all the routes.

Also, the classic modes remained unchanged: Battle and Race. The first one invites players to fight in the selected arena using lasers, rocket launchers, huge sledgehammers and other arsenal. All offered weapons can be used in Race, while participating in racing races. The list will be supplemented by the Elimination mode, in which one racer from the list will become the target for a massive hunt.

By the way, in multiplayer battles up to twelve players can participate. The game also offers to play modes on one screen with the help - in this case, up to four people can participate in the race.

    Description

    Despite the prefix "micro" in the title, the game runs on one DVD and after installation takes up about one and a half Gigabytes on your hard drive.

    After downloading MicroMachines, you should create your profile - without it, as without a passport - nowhere.

    After climbing through the settings, adjust the camera view (dynamic or classic), if you have a fashionable 16: 9 screen, turn on the "Wide screen" option.

    The settings for the graphics component (and first of all, of course, the anti-aliasing parameters) are made in advance, in the control panel of your video card drivers (ATI Catalyst or ForceWare). You will not find such settings inside the game itself.

    As for the controls: both the keyboard and all kinds of joysticks are supported. In the case of a keyboard, the following set is basic: cursor keys (responsible for "gas", "brake", turns left and right) plus additional three keys: A (using the selected bonus), S (canceling the current bonus), D (sound signal - horn).

    The game initially covers most of the maps (levels) and cars that you can choose. At the very beginning of the game, an information screen notifies you about the current availability of 25 cars (out of 750) and about the absence of completed competitions (out of 76 available).

    Game process

    The gameplay in the case of a single-player passage is as follows: two, three or four cars compete on the track. All cars have different characteristics: Speed, Acceleration, Grip and Mass.

    They affect the behavior of the racing car on the road. More precisely, an artificially laid route along the interior of a house (or other building). All these attics, stoves and fans can hardly be called expensive ...

    So, you will fight with the track (the obstacles on it) and your rivals - mini-cars. In skirmish mode - as soon as one of the cars is significantly ahead (the advantage is the full game screen) - it is awarded a victory in the set (and another colored dot lights up in the status bar). At the same time, the car, which turned out to be the last in the field at the time of the local win, is deducted from the current piggy bank of victories.

    In total, you need to type eight dots in your status bar. You can ignore the bonuses, focusing on the track, or you can pick up various things to help eliminate your opponent or improve your parameters (first of all, your health). You can eliminate competitors using missiles (homing and conventional), a machine gun, a plasma cannon, scattered mines (in the form of dice), electrical discharges (a very effective method, recommended in case of a desperate crush). You can also improve your health with the help of a bonus pill or tokens with the image of a heart.

    Health should be monitored especially carefully. The health bar (progress bar) decreases from the malicious influence of your enemies. As soon as the green bar is used up, the progress bar turns yellow, and visually, the wheel of your car falls off - the movement along the highway slows down noticeably. You should immediately look for a "health pill" or a token with a heart. If you are "finished off", and the strip turns red, then there is almost no chance of survival. Although your car stays on the move and can go slowly, the competitor will quickly go off the edge of the screen and be awarded a local victory in the set.

    After winning the current championship race (or in the championship itself) you are rewarded - new cars or even sets of cars are unlocked.

    After winning the championship, a new tournament opens. Personally, I got stuck in the last race of the second championship. You are given a bus that is noticeably losing speed to rivals. As a result, they begin to "rivet" local victories one after another, and it is not clear what to do in such a situation. You cannot change the bus to a faster vehicle in the game. I will attribute this alignment to a flaw in the game balance.

    In general, there are three difficulty levels in the game: Low, Medium and High. I tried all three and, to be honest, I didn't see a big difference :). Although, at the lowest difficulty level in the first one-on-one races, it becomes noticeable that the computer sometimes slows down its car, allowing you to catch up. But this only applies to one-on-one races, but when there are three or more cars on the track, don't expect any concessions even at the lowest difficulty level ...

    Multiplayer mode

    Without a doubt, MicroMachines v4 is focused primarily on multiplayer. Against the background of a single-player passage (racing with a computer) - multiplayer looks much more advantageous. You can play both over a network (local or Internet), and together, three, four at one computer. Moreover, each player must choose his own, pre-created profile. In short, it turns out to be a real family product.

    You can play for fun or for cars. There are two modes to choose from. The first is the passage of the track (who will pass the given number of laps faster).

    The second is a fight, when the scheme already described above is in effect: whoever is the first to break away at the distance of the game screen wins the set and receives a colored dot on the scale of victories (the one who scores eight points becomes the winner).

    An important point - if you wish, you can add computer bot players to your "pokatushki" games. If you have Internet access, you search for current game servers running by other players, or create your own game, waiting for other users. From my own experience, I will say that in MicroMachines v4 at separate intervals it is not always possible to find a game server cocked by someone, so it is better to agree in advance with your friends to drive cars on the network. When creating a server, you can specify the gameplay settings.

    For example, choose the modes already mentioned (skirmishes or a full-fledged ring race), the presence of bonuses and, of course, the route itself (a specific track).

    After passing the race, its participants are awarded with points saved in the table of results.

    Conclusion

    MicroMachines v4 leaves the impression of a product focused primarily on multiplayer games. And it is not so important - over the network or together, three of us on the same computer. If you play with friends, the cornerstone will be the use of bonuses scattered on the track, as well as overcoming various non-trivial obstacles (like a train traveling, ready to grab you with a crab claw, working clippers, hot stove burners, etc.).

    The single-player mode is less interesting, although those who want to go through all the championships and get the full lineup of the collection of cars will find something to do with themselves. Moreover, the passage opens up new routes. On the other hand, you can create your own track, and those who like to customize everything can build their own "Nürburgring in the attic".

    There are no complaints about the localization of the game - I personally have not found any errors or typos. The musical arrangement is light and not particularly memorable, the background music does not distract at all - it just is, and that's it. The sound component is also completely ordinary, you can only distinguish the rumbling sounds of the motors of small cars.

    Summing up - we get moderately cute, but simple to the core arcade racing - a tool for having fun with friends or accidentally discovered network users. One more fact should be noted - not too high system requirements allow reaching a large audience of potential players.

    P.S. If you want to play MicroMachines v4 over a local network (for example, at home on two computers), you only need one disc with the game. Install MicroMachines v4 on both systems and after successfully loading the game on one computer - remove the disk and start racing on the second system.
