Review of the game Uncharted: The Lost Legacy. Review of the game Uncharted: The Lost Legacy When will uncharted the lost legacy come out

Another gameplay innovation was the ability for characters to cling to and climb over each other while hanging on vertical surfaces by clinging to ledges. For example, your partner is stuck in your path, and you need to move on. Chloe will gently grab Nadine's shoulders, move her foot to the ledge behind her, and only then let go of her partner. Everything is done as realistic as possible. Some of the players will not even pay attention to such a trifle, and the programmers and animators of Naughty Dog probably spent more than one hundred man-hours to implement such an interaction. Also in the game, you can now pick locks with a simple mini-game where you have to react to controller vibrations in order to find the correct position of the pick in the keyhole. You can open enemy chests with weapons and treasures, door locks and even handcuffs.

In the first half of the game, the developers made a strong emphasis on stealth mechanics. The player has to hide from opponents behind shelters, sneak behind their backs or hang literally under their noses, holding on to the ledge. Stealth in the game has become more thoughtful and no longer feels like a rudimentary addition to a third-person shooter. But the main surprise was the giant open location, which becomes available to the player around the middle of the game. We have already seen something similar in: there the main characters traveled through the expanses of Madagascar in an SUV and explored various places. In Uncharted: The Lost Legacy developers have gone even further. In addition to the key points that must be visited for further development of the plot, the location contains many optional small quests, for the completion of which the player will receive a particularly useful artifact and learn a lot about the Hoysala Empire. I consider this innovation perhaps the most important in the entire history of the series. Personally, I always lacked something like this in Uncharted.

It is impossible to ignore the fairly matured puzzles. The main characters will now and then face riddles, the solution of which will make you pretty much break your head. Do not worry. There are no unsolvable tasks in the game, and if you are not a stupid person, then, no doubt, you will quickly cope with any of the puzzles. But one thing I am 100% sure of: the puzzles of Uncharted: The Lost Legacy are one or even two heads higher than anything we have seen in previous games in the series. In terms of collectibles, the game confidently holds the bar. You will be asked to find 68 treasures, find 21 boxes with rare weapons, listen to 17 optional dialogues with minor characters and many many others. Another innovation of the game was Chloe Fraser's passion for photography. She does not part with her smartphone and takes pictures of especially picturesque places in Hindustan. The player has to find 28 such locations.

Visually, the game looks great! I have already said that one of the most beautiful games ever released for the PlayStation 4. Well, Uncharted: The Lost Legacy jumped ahead of its predecessor. It is difficult to describe in words my emotions when I first saw incredibly beautiful landscapes, silent ancient cities, giant statues of gods and architectural monuments of the distant past that have survived to this day. After completing the game to the end, you feel as if you just returned from India and still have not recovered from the change of time zones. The beauty of the new Uncharted is intoxicating and amazing. The developers' love for working out the smallest details still causes sincere admiration. Each leaf, each blade of grass, each butterfly fluttering over bright flowers is drawn with special love. Once again, I was amazed that after hand-to-hand combat, the skin of the main character is covered with scars and then, and if she got out of the water, her hair sticks to her face. Everything is so wonderful that it is difficult for me to find the right words to express my thoughts.

The musical accompaniment of Uncharted: The Lost Legacy is also on top. You will hear well-known motives from previous games, but in a new processing. The game has a strong influence of Indian music, and the composition "Borders" by Indian artist M.I.A. plays as the final track during the credits. It is worth noting the outstanding performance of the actors. Particularly impressive is the work of Claudia Lee Black, who voiced Chloe. In her skill, she is in no way inferior to the recognized masters of voice acting for video games Troy Baker and Nolan North, and in some ways even surpasses them. The new Uncharted is best played with quality headphones to enjoy all the subtleties of Naughty Dog's soundscape. The game, by the way, offers to fine-tune the sound, including adjusting the dynamic coverage and even the azimuths of the stereo headphones.

Initially, Uncharted: The Lost Legacy was conceived only as a story DLC for. So the developers wanted to slightly extend the stay of fans of the series in their favorite universe. But during the development process, it turned out that the DLC had grown into a full-scale game, and no one could call it just an “addition” language. As a result, The Lost Legacy was decided to be released as a standalone product. Many players were worried about the length of the game. I hasten to reassure you! On the lowest difficulty and without being distracted by the study of the world around me, I ran the game non-stop in 6 hours and 20 minutes. If you study an open location, complete side quests, search for artifacts scattered across the levels, you can spend 10 hours on Uncharted: The Lost Legacy. For comparison: the first game in the series took 8 hours, the second - 10, and the third - 9. So the duration is in order here. Although after the final credits you still want to continue a wonderful story.

The only drawback of the game, in my opinion, was the crooked translation into Russian. However, I did not like the translation in the case of . I’ll make a reservation right away: I went through the game with the original English voice acting and Russian subtitles. This allows you to hear the voices of the original actors and at the same time evaluate the quality of the work of Russian translators. In some places, the dialogues are translated more or less sanely, but sometimes the Russian "overbrains" begin to carry such gag, for which they should be ashamed. Instead, I was ashamed to read all this for some reason. Due to incorrect translation, the mood of some scenes completely changes. The meaning of jokes is often lost, which could well have been translated into Russian much closer to the original, and instead of sticking phrases like “feet in my mouth” instead. And now I grumble not from scratch. At one time, I happened to localize games into Russian, so I perfectly understand how it all works.

Multiplayer new game I won’t paint in detail, because for the most part he migrated here from. "Competitive Mode" includes 14 maps, 6 game types, solo challenges and hundreds of unlockable items. "Co-op survival mode" involves the cooperation of three players who resist the waves of enemies advancing on them and powerful bosses. However, you can try to survive in this mode, even in splendid isolation. Arena is the new multiplayer mode. Approximately the same as the previous mode, only in the scenery of Uncharted: The Lost Legacy. Players can customize appearance their heroes and even get used to the image of the new charismatic villain Asav. And the game also offers us a high-quality photo mode, thanks to which any player can become a professional photographer for a while, choose a beautiful filter, adjust the facial expressions of the game's heroes and send the resulting picture to social networks.

Pros:

  • The story grabs you from the very beginning and keeps you hooked until the very end.
  • The production can be envied by eminent Hollywood directors.
  • The main characters sometimes outshine the duet of Nathan and Sally.
  • The partner really helps in the process of passing the game.
  • The visual beauty and scope of the game is often breathtaking.
  • The attention of developers to the smallest details is simply amazing.
  • The game skillfully combines corridor locations with an open world.
  • Treasure hunting has never been so exciting.
  • Puzzles have become much more exciting and interesting.
  • Various minor gameplay improvements and additions.
  • Great music and realistic sound effects.
  • A believable game of the actors who performed the main roles.
  • Perceptibly brought to mind multiplayer modes.
  • The publisher asks for all this splendor ridiculous 2499 rubles.

Minuses:

  • After the final credits, I want to continue the banquet.
  • There are comments on the translation of the game into Russian.

Uncharted: The Lost Legacy is the quintessence of everything for which we have loved the series for ten years now. The game is full of references to the previous parts, which only real fans can appreciate. Despite the fact that the game was conceived only as plot addition to , the developers managed to contribute to game process a lot of good news. Exploring a huge open area and completing mini-quests got me excited. What can we say about the prettier puzzles, great sound and the outstanding work of Naughty Dog artists. But the most striking impression on me was still made by the two main characters - Chloe and Nadine. I do not want to guess, but I would very much like to see new adventures of this wonderful couple in the future. I bet the game 10 points out of 10 and as a reminder, Uncharted: The Lost Legacy will go on sale on Wednesday, August 23, 2017.

Uncharted: The Lost Legacy is an action-adventure game by the American company Naughty Dog, an independent expansion to the series Uncharted . The player, in control of Chloe Fraser and with the help of the mercenary Nadine Ross, searches for the Tusk of Ganesha in the Indian mountain region of the Western Ghats. There is a civil war all around. The game uses a 3rd person view. The player can use firearms, resort to hand-to-hand combat and stealth to defend against hostile characters. The game includes puzzles, including several platform elements. You can move around the world on foot or by transport.

Development on The Lost Legacy began shortly after release Uncharted 4: AThief" send in May 2016. Chloe became the main focus of the game, her character reflected in the story, design and gameplay elements. Claudia Black and Laura Bailey played the roles of Chloe and Nadine respectively (with voice recording and motion capture). Writer Josh Sherr and creative director Sean Escaig handled the characters and story. The game was built on the gameplay elements formed in the previous parts, with their more open gameplay. The game was well received by critics, although they pointed out the lack of innovation.

Gameplay

Uncharted: The Lost Legacy is a 3rd person action adventure with platforming elements. The player can use firearms, melee, stealth. The main character Chloe Fraser is physically developed, she can jump, run fast, climb up, swim, swing, and perform other acrobatic actions. The player traverses multiple environments, moving through cities, buildings, temples, advancing through game plot. In some segments, the player drives vehicles.

In battle, you can use long-range weapons like rifles, short-range weapons like pistols and revolvers. Portable explosives like grenades and the C4 bomb are available. While the player can attack enemies directly, it is possible to use stealth tactics to attack undetected or sneak up on the enemy. Silenced weapons are included in the game. The game is linear, however there are different paths to explore in the environment. Compared with Uncharted 4 the cards got bigger. The artificial intelligence system is set up so that the enemies react to any combat situation they fall into; they respond to the player's actions, coordinate their tactics, interact with each other. The player's companions are also led by Artificial Intelligence. Companions are capable of assisting in combat by throwing objects to stun the enemy, announcing the location of invisible enemies, using weapons to attack. There are periods of non-combat in the game, often with conversations between characters. Through the dialogue tree, the player can decide the outcome of certain conversations.

The game gives access to multiplayer Uncharted 4: AThief" send. There is additional content related to The Lost Legacy.

Plot

In India, treasure hunter Chloe Fraser enlists the help of mercenary Nadine Ross to find the legendary tusk of Ganesha, the son of the Hindu god Shiva. According to legend, Ganesha lost his tusk while defending his father's temple. The search for the tusk was led by Chloe's father until it fell into the hands of bandits. With the help of a young trader, Minu, whose father is in the Indian army, Chloe passes by a group of rebels and meets up with Nadine. Nadine helps her sneak into the office of rebel leader Asav, who is also looking for the tusk, apparently planning to use it to recruit people into the revolution. Chloe and Nadine steal an unknown expert's map indicating that the tusk is in the ancient Hoysala empire. They also steal the disk, which is the key to the tusk, and then run away from Asav's forces.

The map leads the heroines to the western mountains of India. They follow the path of several towers adorned with Hindu weapons: the trident of Ganesha, the bow of Shiva and the ax of Parashurama, the same one that separated the tusk. The path leads them to Halebid, the smaller of the two Hoysala capitals. The last Emperor Khalebidu, it would seem, out of vanity, left the city unprotected before the army of the Persians. However, the characters soon learn that the emperor has left a false path. In fact, the tusk is located in the great capital - Belur. Along the way, Chloe and Nadine are attacked by Asav and his men. From the battle, the girls barely escape, but lose the disk.

Chloe is injured, but the movement continues. She hopes to return the disc. While spying on Asawa's troops, Nadine spots her old enemy Sam Drake - the brother of Nathan Drake, who, Nathan, is Chloe's old friend and former partner. Nadine realizes that Sam is Asav's expert. When Nadine expresses her intent to kill Sam, Chloe reveals that she worked with him until he was kidnapped, at which point she needed to hire Nadine. Since Chloe previously said she didn't know Sam much, Nadine gets angry at this deception, but the girls eventually make up. They make it to Belur and go through several puzzles before being captured by Asav. Asav delivers them to the central room. Sam, who is there, forces Chloe to use a disc to reveal a tusk covered in precious stones. In the process, Chloe learns that Ganesha allowed Parashurama to cut off his tusk, as Shiva gave him an axe, and Ganesha didn't want to embarrass his father by proving the uselessness of his axe.

With the tusk, Asav activates the trap and leaves the trio to drown. However, Chloe's quick use of the lockpick allows them to escape. Despite the tension between Nadine and Sam, the trio pursue Asav to retrieve the tusk. Along the way, Nadine is shocked and furious to learn that Asav is working with the Shoreline, the military group she ran and hoped to return to after completing her current job. The characters learn about the deal between Asav and Orka (Nadine's former lieutenant, now in charge of the Coastline). Asav exchanges the tusk for something huge, which is loaded onto the train. During the fight with Orca flying in a helicopter, the trio shoot down the helicopter and learn from a dying mercenary that Asav bought it. This is a big bomb that he plans to detonate in the capital to start a revolution. Tired of the situation getting too dangerous, Chloe convinces the others to help her stop the plan.

Having requisitioned the car, the trio overtakes the train. Sam stays behind, the women jump on the train and fight Asav's men. Seeing a switch that will direct the train to the broken bridge, Chloe jumps off the train while Nadine stays behind. With Sam's help, Chloe turns the switch, then goes back for Nadine. The girls get to the car containing the bomb and fight Asav. They place his foot under the bomb and manage to jump off the train, which soon falls off the bridge and explodes. Asav dies. With the tusk in hand, Chloe and Nadine decide to work together, and Sam reacts with disgust at their intention to hand over the tusk to the Minister of Culture, who most likely won't pay them much money.

In the credits, Chloe, Nadine, Sam and Mina are eating pizza.

Development

Naughty Dog began development on Lost Legacy in May 2016, after the release Uncharted 4 , initially to explore narrative ideas. Kurt Margenau and Sean Escaig became Game Director and Creative Director, respectively. Margenau got this job for his knowledge of programming, passion for games and interactivity, and Eskage for his understanding of narrative structure. The special soundtrack for the game was written by Henry Jackman, the same one who composed the music for Uncharted 4 . Initially, the team wanted to do Uncharted 5 , but then decided to make downloadable content (DLC) for Uncharted 4 , because the simultaneous development LastofUspartII forced them to prefer a condensed story for the sake of a faster release.

Lost Legacy was announced at the PlayStation Experience on December 4, 2016, with a debut gameplay trailer. A gameplay video released in April 2017 revealed the release date and revealed the pre-order bonus: the original JackandDaxter: ThePrecursorLegacy emulated for the PlayStation 4. A story trailer was shown at E3 in July 2017.

History and characters

At first, the team experimented with Nathan Drake, the protagonist of past installments of the series, as a minor character in Lost Legacy, but this idea seemed redundant. Several characters in the series were considered for the role of protagonists, including Charlie Cutter, Nathan's daughter Cassie, Nathan's brother Sam, and Nathan's friend Victor Sullivan. Victor's age seemed to them a hindrance to the gameplay. Finally, Chloe Fraser and Nadine Ross, who first appeared in Uncharted 2: AmongThieves(2009) and Uncharted 4 , respectively. The team set their sights on new relationships with established supporting characters in the series, as opposed to LastofUs: LeftBehind(2014, DLC to LastofUs) dedicated to " missing piece of history". At first it was calculated that the duration of Lost Legacy would be similar to the duration of the mentioned DLC. As development progressed, it became clear that the game would grow more than anticipated. The development turned into an extension, not a package, with a duration of more than 10 hours.

The whole game was built around the character of Chloe. The storytelling and design reflected her dark, practical mindset. While retaining familiar features like the ponytail for Chloe, the team also reflected subtle signs of aging like wrinkles. Her design and fighting style is different from Nathan Drake's, so her animations have been changed. The team saw Chloe as an interesting character, as her moral compass " slightly less directed than Drake. She used to look for artifacts for rewards, but now she is interested in the tusk of Ganesha because of his connection with her family; Sherr found it interesting to delve into this aspect. Chloe used to walk away from dangerous situations to save herself, but now, as a leader, she is forced to achieve a goal. The team concluded that Chloe would need a partner with military skills, and Nadine after Uncharted 4 desperate for a job. The combination of these characters interested the team due to their great dissimilarity: Chloe " spontaneous and impulsive”, Nadine is structured; to work together, they will need to overcome their differences. Asawa Escaig compared the character to the Mexican medical surgeon José Manuel Mireles from the documentary cartel land(2015); Usman Alli, who played the role of Asav, described Mireles as: " a man with charisma and confidence in his people who will rise up and lead revolutions different types ". Usman noted that his connection with historical revolutionaries, childhood life in corrupt countries helped him better understand the logic of the character and better portray him.

The game's story was written by Sherr and Escaig. Whereas previous games Uncharted followed the path of historical figures (Marco Polo, Henry Avery), in Lost Legacy, instead, the emphasis was on the region, local philosophy and culture. In view of the reduced development, the team allowed less intensive research. The team intended to give the game " slightly more fantastic atmosphere to distinguish it from the mundane story Uncharted 4 . On the relatively small scale of the game, Escaig saw a good opportunity to explore each individual character, their stories and perspectives. Escaig wanted to show the emotional state of the characters through the gameplay. The story of the game allowed the team to explore gameplay elements not included in Uncharted 4 .

Design and gameplay

V Uncharted 4 some large open locations were limited due to the development schedule; in Lost Legacy, the developers updated the production process so that up to 5 teams can develop one location at the same time. The natural diversity of the Western Ghats allowed the team to explore different settings, including jungles, mountains, temples, and large urban environments. The team was also drawn to the deities and iconography of India.

Combat mechanics have been redesigned to better match Chloe's size and fighting style. Nathan fought with brute force, while Chloe resorted more to martial arts techniques. The player was able to control the characters and the camera, but the team tweaked the gameplay elements to fit certain shots. Art director Tate Mosesian said: “ there is very little randomness in the game". When composing game shots, the team decided to take advantage of color.

Reception

Uncharted: The Lost Legacy received high scores from critics and players alike, according to Metacritic, with average scores a few days after release of 85% (82 reviews) and 85% (288 ratings).

The release date is the point in time after which the game is considered released, which usually means that it can already be downloaded and tried out if purchased. licensed copy. For example, the release date for Uncharted: The Lost Legacy is August 22, 2017.

V Lately Increasingly, developers allow you to buy the game in advance - make a pre-order. In response to the support from potential buyers, who believe so much in the success of the project that they give money for it even before the release, the developers share various bonuses and exclusive materials. It can be a soundtrack, an artbook, or some mini-addons for the game.

Thus, a pre-order actually allows you to buy the game before its official release, but this does not mean that the announced release date loses its meaning, since you can fully play only after the release.

Why do you need to know release dates for games?

If only because it is more convenient to plan your time and finances. If you know, for example, when Uncharted: The Lost Legacy (Uncharted: Lost Legacy) will be released, then it will be easier for you to navigate: set aside money in advance to buy it, plan things so that you can immerse yourself in the game as soon as it comes out.

A lot of gamers keep track of game release dates with special calendars and feature articles about the most important releases of the month or season. You can find both on our game portal site

How do developers choose when to release?

They are guided by many factors at once. Firstly, it is important for them to know that their target audience will be able to immediately join the gameplay, so games are less likely to be released during the holiday season, as well as in those months when work is usually all hands on deck and students have a session.

Secondly, for a successful release, developers are trying to compare their plans with the announcements of potential competitors. For example, if we are talking about a shooter, then releasing it at the same time as the new Battlefield or Call of Duty is not very reasonable.

Thirdly, the release date indicates the so-called deadline - the very line after which the game is already ready. This means that it must be completed within the stated time. Alas, this does not always work out, and therefore the release date of the game can be shifted one or even several times.

In addition to this, the release of Uncharted: The Lost Legacy (Uncharted: Lost Legacy) on PC and consoles may differ - often developers try to release one version first, and only then move on to the next.

Naughty Dog, as the rock stars of the industry, gave an incendiary concert, during which she gave us great hits. Now that all is quiet around them, they've come out for an encore and hit the instruments again, bringing together everything we've ever loved about Uncharted. The game turned out to be amazing, and its short duration is clearly a plus in the general piggy bank. The Lost Legacy came out packed, and the last two hours have been a catharsis of brilliant ideas and mastery of staging from the masters of their craft...

Uncharted: The Lost Legacy - very high quality and good game. However, it will be a great addition only for those players who have already become familiar with the Uncharted series. For novice players, I would not advise starting their journey into the world of Uncharted with The Lost Legacy. However, if you decide to still purchase The Lost Legacy (perhaps due to the low price tag), then be prepared for the fact that after beating the game there may be side effects in the form of an urgent desire ...

Like the fourth part, The Lost Legacy focuses on puzzles and parkour: you almost always have to climb somewhere or think about what to do with another incomprehensible mechanism. Almost every such stage differs, if not ideologically, then at least in presentation. One puzzle, for example, will greet Chloe with axe-wielding statues that will chop off the head of anyone who makes a mistake. And almost all the ancient structures where you have to climb will collapse sooner or later - one is more spectacular than the other.

Uncharted: The Lost Legacy is a sequel, although very high quality, but has almost no independent value. This supplement is exclusively for fans who are curious about what happened to Chloe. The daring girl shows herself here from a completely different side, but it's a pity that all her development has remained somewhere behind the scenes. However, despite its shortcomings, this is Uncharted, and there is no other such exciting cinematic adventure to be found in 2017.

he Lost Legacy is not just some plot "patches" that could not or did not have time to sew to last year's blockbuster, and therefore were "thrown out" on the market as "DLC". No. This is a small, but real, full-fledged adventure, for all those who enjoy discoveries, even if they are virtual. Who likes to look for equally virtual treasures and make virtual, but still friends. However, if Uncharted 4 already seemed boring to you, then The Lost Legacy is better to bypass.

Uncharted 4 for social justice activists and the youngest fans who missed early games series, that's what Lost Legacy is all about. Okay, spectacular game, which you really want, but you can’t fall in love - mainly because a year ago we already saw it all. On top of that, the novelty costs 2.5 thousand rubles and weighs almost 50 gigabytes. And this is in conditions when the subscription to PlayStation Plus will go up in price in a week.

The Lost Legacy is a good addon and excellent DLC. But as a full-fledged part of the series, it turned out to be weak. The game is stunningly beautiful and well directed, but it blindly copies Uncharted 4 without adding anything of its own. There are also superficial heroes who, in their current state, will not be able to stretch the series on themselves. And whether to play or not depends entirely on how much Uncharted has had time to bother you.

Uncharted: The Lost Legacy did a good job of fixing the bugs and getting rid of some of the silly shortcomings of the fourth part. There is a more sane plot here, it no longer makes you wander aimlessly through the levels, and the history of India and the tusk of Ganesha, which the girls are hunting for, is well revealed. Moreover, Naughty Dog still takes graphics and the ability to stage adventure movies. So if you haven’t encountered “anches” or haven’t had time to get tired of the standard sores of the series yet ...
