  • 14.07.2020

Today I will please you with good guidance and you will learn how to create primitive maps for CS: GO without spending a lot of time learning from video tutorials on YouTube. We will not be required to have programming skills or a great knowledge of PC. All we need is a small program already built into the Steam platform, a program with which we will learn to model our first map with me. This program is free and registered by Valve, so you can not be afraid about the VAC ban and viruses.

1) Go to the Library.

2) Click on "Tools".

3) We are looking in the list of "Counter Strike: Global Offensive - SDK". Download and run.

4) Click on the first button.

5) After, we will start a window. Click in it the "File" button.

6) Then - "New".

7) Bravo! You have created an empty map layout. At the moment, you should see our main three buttons:

8) Since we are beginner "card makers" - first we will make a regular square. Click "Browse" and take any texture to your taste.

9) Now let's start drawing our layout. The screenshot explains how to do this:

10) Let's go over the management: we point to the part with the textures that we selected and click "Z" on the keyboard. Now you can view everything using the WASD buttons and the mouse.

11) Further, so that we can walk inside this square - Click on it, it will turn red.
12) Click on the right window with the right button and click "Make Hollow".

13) I advise you to put 64 in the choice of volume.

14) Now the very juice of leadership. Click on the light bulb - we make it taste where our spawn will be

15) We point the place, then LMB - a terrorist should appear. For CT, select another area for spawn - click x2 LMB and in the column Class enter “info_player_counterterrorist”.

16) We go into the settings of the terrorist and enter "prop_dynamic", click "apply".

17) We look for the line "World Model" and go to the "Search"

18) A window appeared with our textures. Double click - the item appears on our map.

19) This is how it should turn out:

Valve creates such games in which players have a huge scope for creativity: what does the Steam workshop cost, where users can upload their achievements. not an exception. Perhaps these are the consequences of the fact that CS itself was once just a modification for Half-Life. CS: GO gamers can now create their own weapon skins and even maps. Speaking of cards. How to create a map in "KS: GO"?

What is needed for this?

First you need to buy the game itself on Steam, and then go to the "Library" section. You need to find the following item there: Counter-Strike: Global Offensive - SDK. This is the very constructor of maps for the CS, in which any playgrounds are created that later get to the game server. It needs to be opened.

Interface

Before you learn how to create a map in "KS: GO", you need to familiarize yourself with the program interface.

An open program is a gray window. To create the basis of the map, you need to click File, then - New.

The program interface will change a little. Most of it will be occupied by four large black sections. The one in the upper left is a three-dimensional view of the map, in the upper right is a top view, in the lower left is a front view, in the lower right is a side view.

Now we can proceed to clarify the question of how to create a map in “KS: GO”.

Process of creation

First you need to create a block, which will be the base of the map. You must select the texture of the map - its design. This is done by clicking the Browse button on the right side of the program interface.

Now select your favorite texture and click OK. Then you need to click on the gray block icon - the fifth element from above on the left panel of the interface - and go to the top view.

In this view, you need to select the desired area of \u200b\u200bthe map, and its height can be adjusted in the front view.

The platform itself for the game is ready, but there are no players themselves. Therefore, further it is necessary to move on to creating terrorist and police teams. To do this, hold Shift + E and click on the part of the map where you want to place the fighter.

It is not difficult to notice that all the created models are terrorists. How to change this? You need to click on the red arrow on the left in the tool bar (the topmost element) and click several times on the model that you want to change. A window will open. In it, find the column “Class” and select “info_player_counterterrorist”. Everything, the player icon has been changed.

It remains only to add lighting to the resulting layout, obstacles, shelters and more.

Nevertheless, many players, in addition to the question of how to create a map in KS: GO, are interested in the following task. Very similar. How to create an AIM card for "KS: GO"?

It is also quite simple. Make an AIM card using certain commands in the console already directly in the game.

To do this, go into single-player competitive mode, and then enter a number of commands in the console:

  • sv_cheats 1 (allows cheats to be used in the console).
  • bot_kick (removes all bots on the map).
  • bot_stop 1 (all bots stop in one place).
  • bot_place (allows you to create a bot where the gamer is located).
  • mp_roundtime_defuse 60 (fixes the duration of one round at a rate of 60 minutes in the mode of "Clearing the Plant").
  • mp_autoteambalance 0 (auto-balance of commands is removed).
  • mp_limitteams 0 (the limit of gamers in the team is removed).

  1. How to run the created map

What tools do you need to use

To create maps, we need a program called Hammer World Editor. She is the best that exists for card makers. Simplicity and elementaryness are factors that attract the creators of new platforms for the game.

Where to get this tool? To download the program for creating maps, you must:

  1. Go to the "Library" section on Steam;
  2. Select the line "Tools";
  3. Find a line in the list with the name Counter Strike: Global Offensive - SDK;
  4. Download the tool and run it.

After that, a window will appear on the computer from which we need to select Hammer World Editor. We click on it - and voila! The editor is in front of you. You can start creating.

Create an elementary map for CS

Now we will not create the most chic map of the millennium. Our task is to understand how the editor works. What to do with it to learn how to create maps. So now we are just creating a large room for two terrorists and two counter-terrorists. And we’ll come up with a comic goal: just shoot each other. So here we go!

Room creation

Before creating our beautiful map, we must make a file in which we will work. To do this, click on File - New.

An empty layout appeared. The upper left window shows a 3D model of objects, and the subsequent ones from the top, side and front, respectively.

Before we draw, we must indicate the location of the camera. To do this, select the third button in the left pane (Camera) and place it in the 2D window by clicking on it and navigating in the viewing direction.

Now you can create a map. To create a box-room, we need to draw a rectangle (brush) in the upper right window. For an example we will take the size 1152 (the top side of a rectangle) on 895 (side side). Then in the lower left window indicate the "growth" of the box - the height of its ceiling. For example, set 64 in height and 895 in length. In the last window, the projection will be created automatically.

The brush texture appears in the 3D viewer. If you click on it, and then press the Z key, then using the mouse or the WASD control buttons, you can examine it from all sides.

To make the created box empty inside, click on it in the upper left window, highlighting in red. Then we click on the upper right window with the right mouse button. In the list that appears, select the line Make Hollow. A new window will appear, in which you need to enter the number 64 and click on OK.

We move inside the box. Now this is a platform that you can safely begin to equip!

Spawn Point Placement

The next step is to make it possible for players to appear on the map we created.

To create a respawn point, you need to select a tool in the form of a light bulb (the fourth button in the toolbar called Entity Tool). A selection will appear on the right near the bottom window. We need to create, for example, a point of emergence of a terrorist. To do this, select the name info_player_terrorist from the Objects drop-down list (to create a counter-terrorist respawn, you will need the info_player_counterterrorist command). After that we place a point anywhere on the map through the 3D window. Just click on the map.

After that, players will be able to appear directly on the map after the start of the game. The more points - the more players of a certain team can be announced.

You can even create a respawn for a single player game (info_player_start) or for the DM mode (info_deathmatch_spawn).

Placing trunks on the ground

To put weapons on the ground, the same tool is used as for creating respawn points. Click on the Entity Tool again, if it is not already selected. Then in the Objects field we enter the word Weapon. We will be shown all possible weapons. Choose any and place on the floor.

Light setting

And again we need the Entity Tool. Select the tool, and then enter the word Light in the Objects search. You can place light sources anywhere. But there are many, which one to choose? The most simple and convenient:

  1. Simply Light is the simplest and smallest light source. It will help if you need to highlight a small part of the space;
  2. Light_spot - directional light source, illuminates a specific point;
  3. Light_environment - light from above, from the "sky" of the map.

After installing the light source, you can select it in 3D viewing, double-click on it, and then set the parameters (color, brightness, and so on) in a new window.

What is important not to forget

So, we have created an elementary map.

  • put on lighting so that participants see at least something;
  • do not forget to set the mission of the card, creating at least one plent or one hostage, as well as a place for his withdrawal from the game;
  • mark respawn points T and CT. There must be at least 32 points - 16 for each team;
  • carefully review the created map - are there any holes in it on the textures where players can fail?
  • remember, it’s important not to forget to set up a store at respawn points (or at any specific location) so that players can buy weapons and armor.

But it will be needed when we will create more advanced maps. Now on our creation you can just have fun with friends ... Or not yet? Exactly, you have to save it!

How to run the created map

  1. Select File;
  2. Click on the line Save As;
  3. Save.

After that, the project can be edited and modified. But we want to play. For this:

  1. Click on File;
  2. Select Run Map;
  3. Save the map in * .vmf format;
  4. Set all parameters to Normal in the next window;
  5. Click on OK.

After that, you can safely use the card, like any other.
