Is an online game made in style. You have to play the role of a military mercenary performing combat missions, with the ensuing consequences.

After a small registration in the game Jagged Alliance Online, in which we are required to confirm our email, we get into the game. At the beginning of the game, we will be asked to choose a portrait and archetype of our future character. There are five types of archetypes: soldier, machine gunner, sniper, commando, and scout. Each of which will have the appropriate characteristics, for example, a commando specializes in short distances, has a quick reaction and, as a rule, always shoots first, and a sniper can destroy an enemy from a long distance.

After you decide on the choice of a fighter, in the first mission you will be thrown into the jungle by teeming rebels, there you will learn how to take your first steps, and become familiar with the game interface. If you have never played Jagged Alliance on a PC platform, then you should know that this type of game belongs to turn-based games, that is, each player has a certain power reserve, and when it ends, you need to click “end of turn”. By completing missions, you will receive skill points that you will distribute on your own, and your fighter will become stronger and stronger. As mentioned above, each type of fighter has its own characteristics and specializes in different tactics destruction of opponents, so it will depend on which skills need to be pumped in the first place.

After completing the training missions in the game Jagged Alliance Online, you will have access to the command center where you can purchase the necessary equipment and even hire additional soldiers. You can earn money for the necessary uniforms: by completing missions, robbing other online players, or by investing real money... By the way, the option with the destruction of other online players can bring you very significant results and even hit a big jackpot. But at the same time, you may not calculate your strength and vice versa, you will become a victim, and they will take you to the bone.

The game Jagged Alliance Online provides PvP battles, but they are not available immediately, but after completing several missions. In PvP, you can fight with others online players, and here all the skills and pumping of your fighter will come in handy - after all, the strongest will win.

The graphics in the game are very attractive and modern, the only drawback that was noticed is the small size of the map, which slightly affects the tactics of the battle. But after several completed missions, you cease to notice this drawback. In general, the game turned out to be quite good and in the browser version it has the right to exist.

Jagged Alliance is a legendary game in the most literal sense. The number of JA followers is impressive - here both fan modifications (Night Ops, Wildfire), and entire games and game series (“Operation Silent Storm"," Brigade E5 "). The abundance of JA resources on the web is also striking - just try entering the phrase Jagged Alliance in any search engine, and you will see for yourself. The genius of the game is beyond doubt, but it all started very ... It's banal.

Joke

Back in 1952, on the fictional island of Metavira, located somewhere in the south

The Atlantic Ocean, a nuclear bomb was tested. The bomb was successfully tested, the island was abandoned no less safely and was forgotten for the time being. Meanwhile, the trees on the island did not die, but mutated extremely successfully. The sap of the leaves of these trees had strong medicinal properties. It was then that they remembered about this small piece of land, set up a laboratory, began to study trees and make money selling miraculous medicines "for everything." And there would be endless happiness for everyone if it had not been for a certain Lucas Santino who said: "Let's make two laboratories, it will be faster!" With their brains, the researchers carefully agreed ... Santino built a second laboratory and brought his "personal guard" there. And then a little more ... And a little more ... In general, a month later the whole island was flooded with Lucas's very personal guards, who calmly swept out from Metavira all those not related to Santino's entourage.

The unjustly thrown out of the island, the head of the first laboratory, Professor Jack, collected the remains of the miracle leaves, sold them and hired a person who could get in touch with A.I.M. (Association of International Mercenaries) and recruit these same mercenaries there so that they liberate the island under his command.

This man is the one who got hold of the cherished 20 megabytes of Jagged Alliance. Player, that is. Well, let's restore justice in one individually taken deciduous republic?

Released in 1995, the first part of Jagged Alliance made a lot of noise in its time. Still - such a well-thought-out game, and even in such a young genre at that time! In JA, almost everything was unique, starting with the mercenaries with whom we had to complete our squad. There are 60 of them (!), And each of them is a person. Intelligent Speck, friendly Ice, "true-Russian" Ivan (who taught Russian from Hollywood blockbusters) ... Can you name them all! Some of them specialize in one thing (Speck, for example, is a very talented mechanic), some try to learn everything at once (but not everyone succeeds). Each mercenary is unique, almost every phrase from JA has become a catchword - Ivan's phrases "almost without an accent" are especially remembered, one of which is included in the epigraph of the article.

And the game itself begins with a strategic component - the map of the island, divided into 60 sectors, 59 of which belong to the enemy. Our goal is simple - to cut the path to Santino and clearly explain to him that it is not good to do as he does. The cleaning takes place in the same-turn-based tactics mode, in which each participant in the battle has mysterious "action points" that are spent on any action, be it a shot or a change of position. After all the AP for all the player's fighters, the turn goes to the enemy, and so on until the end is victorious for one of the sides. The end, of course, must be won for the player in order to mark another sector as liberated and move on.

The enemy is not going to surrender and is actively attacking your sectors, which is why it is recommended to train guards to protect the area. Why are these sectors needed? From each conquered sector comes such a dear to the heart currency, if harnessed there collectors of healing vegetative shoots.

And currency, by the way, is vital important product, because the mercenaries are all as one with daily wages, and if they do not pay, they refuse to work (strange, right?).

A year later, an addition was released Deadly games, which turned out to be an ordinary set of missions. Well, okay, not quite ordinary. Goodbye, global map and hello linear campaign! With the expansion, Sir-Tech has sharpened its focus on tactical combat, making it more challenging and fun. The balance was worked out, new weapons were added, some interface improvements were made ... In general, almost everything an ordinary add-on needs to flourish. Only here is a pity for the card. But she will be back. Has already returned.

Jagged alliance 2

“Mandor, let me introduce you to Her Highness Jasra, Queen of Kashfa. - I deliberately omitted the word "reigning".

Roger Zelazny, Sign of Chaos

In 1999, a sequel was released. Jagged Alliance 2 - nothing more, nothing less. The game was comprehended by small, but very numerous changes for the better.

The action of the game was transferred from the fictional island of Metavira to the equally fictional Latin American state of Arulco, which can be walked from end to end in two days. But despite its small size, the history of the state is very eventful. A short political educational program sounds something like this. Two dynasties - Cordona and Chivaldori - claimed power in the country. The country was dominated by a mixture of monarchy and democracy, in which the king possessed absolute power in the country, but is re-elected every few years. The country existed mainly at the expense of silver and gold mines and did not particularly complain about anything.

However, all good things come to an end. Thus ended the quiet life of the Arulcans. Deidrana Reitman - "lady with style" (the only candidate for the wife of the latter on this moment Prince Arulco - Enrico Civaldori) - betrayed the groom by poisoning his father. The suspicion of the law enforcement officers, of course, fell on Enrico - at first the poor man was thrown into jail, and then he was completely shot. To summarize: the prince is supposedly dead, Deidran's comrade is now moonlighting as Queen Arulco, the local political system has changed into the most dictatorship, and the rebels, led by Miguel Cordona, hid in Omerte, desperately trying to overthrow the dictator (dictatorialist?). But, which is not at all surprising, Enrico is alive, healthy, full of energy and ... Of course, he found a person with a laptop who can get in touch with A.I.M. - with all the ensuing consequences.

Our goal is to break through to the capital (to the headquarters of Deidrana), throw the would-be queen from the golden stool and return the throne to the rightful heir.

This action is accompanied by funny scripted scenes in which Elliot, one of the queen's loyal servants, reports to her evil majesty about our successes. Few people at one time left indifferent Deidranino loud: “Elliot! You're an idiot!"

The fact that instead of a small island a whole state is now available to us, could not but affect gameplay... For example, now not all sectors available to us are of strategic importance, but only cities (and even then not all) and air defense bases. The bases allow you to fearlessly fly on a personal helicopter across the Arulka expanses, and settlements bring many other goodies - starting with a solid monetary income from city mines (Drassen, Alma, Chitzena, Cambria, Gram) and ending ... Well, for example, cutting the arrival of enemy troops (Alma ... Meduna again, hehe) ...

It is interesting: Balaym is probably the most useless of all cities available for capture - there are no mines, there are no important facilities, and loyalty is growing extremely slowly, because mostly relatives and friends of Deidran live there. But only after seeing the royal reaction to the loss of the city, you will swear more than once: "I will do anything, even with mercenaries I will defend, but I will not surrender the city to Deidran!"

By the way, there are fewer mercenaries in A.I.M. (in the "Archive gallery" section on the organization's website you can find out everything about the fate of the departed), but now the squad can be assembled not only in A.I.M.,

and also in M.E.R.C. and, in fact, in Arulco.

M.E.R.C. Is organized by former employees of A.I.M. Speck T. Klein (the same mechanic from the first part) and Biff Upscott mercenary center, whose services will cost you an absolutely ridiculous amount. Another thing is that M.E.R.C. it does not open immediately, but only after a few days of the game, and the warriors there are almost weaklings who can hardly do anything. They should be used exclusively as pack animals or militia trainers.

With the good citizens of Arulco, everything is also simple - we run (fly, drive) around the country in search of those who are ready to join us, and we recruit them. However, among the inhabitants of Arulco, decent specimens rarely come across (Konrad ... and that's all, perhaps).

There is also a "psychological testing center" I.M.P., which is nothing more than a disguised character generator (after whose death the game, oddly enough, does not end).

On a note: JA cartridges are divided into three categories - regular, armor-piercing and explosive (aka "expansive action"). Armor-piercing cartridges are marked in red. They easily penetrate body armor, but inflict fairly weak damage. Expansive charges are marked in blue - they do huge damage, but are completely useless against armor.

But the changes don't end there. As we remember, in the first JA, the laptop was used to recruit mercenaries from A.I.M., and nothing more. In the second part, the developers developed this idea in a very interesting way. Actually, now most of the peaceful actions have been dropped on us: recruiting mercenaries, tracking finances, buying equipment (no one has canceled online weapon stores), etc. There are now about 10 sites on the local "network", and about half of them do almost nothing useful, but their content is sometimes very, very interesting. By the way, spam is not very common in Arulco, so you will have to search for most of the sites you need on your own. What did you think, the "Links" section in A.I.M. - for beauty?

It is interesting: do not be lazy, find the site of the funeral agency, find a link to the site of the flower shop, order a bouquet ... and send it to Meduna. I guarantee you won't regret it.

Another valuable find of the developers - before starting the game, you can select the desired number of items that will drop from defeated opponents

(many or few - there are no other options), the style of play (fantastic and real), the save mode (whether it is possible to save in battle) and, of course, the difficulty of the game (newbie, private, veteran). Most curious of all is the fantastic mode. If you turn it on, then one fine moment our "ruler" will lower hungry genetically modified bugs into the Drasen mine, which are very fond of feeding on the militia. The mine, for obvious reasons, will be closed. If suddenly it will cause you inconvenience - then please go downstairs and kill the uterus. Very, you know, invigorates when hordes of cute worms (crustaceans?) Are running around (crawling?), And not a single fighter is sitting idle. But your efforts will not be in vain: in addition to restoring income from the mine and the relatively calm life of the militia, you will receive from the uterus of bugs several portions of green bugs, I beg your pardon, snot, which, being smeared on the armor, dramatically increase its protective characteristics. For example, the "snotty" set of a new "Spectra" (helmet, body armor and pants) gives a total of 106% armor. Impressive? Forget injuries!

On a note: In addition to reptiles (as these geneticist errors are called), there are also giant killer cats that like to ambush unsuspecting travelers. These little animals (cats, not travelers) run fast and bite painfully, but absolutely do not hold the blow with expansive charges. A truly wonderful reserve has gathered here!

By the way, did you mention transport above in the article? So, it was not mentioned in vain. To move us across the vastness of the virtual kingdom, there are as many as three types of transport - an ice cream van, a jeep and a helicopter. The van rolls on the roads of Arulco, and the mercenary rolls it

Hamos; The Hummer is on a farm near Balaym; the helicopter, paradoxically, is located at Drasen airport. Everything is clear with the first two taratais - we find, we buy, we ride - since absolutely all mercenaries are able to drive a car. Moving by car is much faster than walking on foot, and the mercenaries do not get tired in the car, but quite the opposite - they can even sleep while driving (except, of course, the driver, who, for obvious reasons, cannot rest, and the strength of it is spent, please). But on the other hand, the car drives only on the roads, and gasoline in Arulco is no easier to get than a nuclear bomb ...

It's not so simple with the third tarata. Firstly, it is flying, that is, there are no impassable sectors for it. Secondly, it is very fast - the sector flies by in five minutes of playing time. Thirdly, there is no need to refuel the helicopter (they will refuel at the airport), but you have to pay for the distance covered. Fourthly, despite the fact that the helicopter can and should be found at the very beginning, the pilot will still have to look for a long time. And fifthly, it is better not to rise into the air at all, if the air defense bases are not captured. They will shoot down and not scratch, but we have only one helicopter, and without it - absolutely nowhere ...

It is interesting: even if the helicopter was shot down, you can quickly reassign all the mercenaries from the helicopter to the squad. All will remain alive, and no one will even be injured. Did they go down by parachutes or what? .. However, this is not the point, because if the helicopter is shot down, it is easier to load the game than to go further without flying equipment.

By the way, it should be noted that your fighters can not only be killed, but also taken prisoner - when the enemy's superiority becomes unambiguous, the mercenaries are offered surrender. Agree - and your squad will be imprisoned in Alma, from where they can be released.

It is interesting: if you get caught again, the detachment will be taken to a secret concentration camp near Meduna, where your mercenaries will be interrogated personally by Deidrana. You can answer the truth (not recommended), you can lie (get it in the face), you can not answer (get it even harder in the face). There will be no need to bring up reserves to free the guys. Elliot, as noted above, is really an idiot, so thanks to his stupidity, the squad will have the opportunity to escape ...

Well, and on little things: the character of the character is really capable of changing the course of the battle (some, for example, sometimes fall into a rage, sitting in bursts into different sides), as well as the relationship of mercenaries (it is better not to take Anabolik and someone from the Dolvich dynasty into one squad); finally made normal quests, most of the maps have a second level (those very favorite / unloved roofs - see the sidebar), almost for the first time in the genre, several modes of movement were introduced (running, walking, crouching and crawling), etc. etc. etc.

The verdict is unambiguous and purely positive. The game is just brilliant, without any comments. Even the fact that the project came out not as “revolutionary” as it was conceived does not negate this.

Jagged Alliance 2.5: Unfinished Business

"Silently blowing up the ammunition depot, the partisans moved on ..."

Joke

In fact, "The Price of Freedom" (this is how the name of the game sounds in Russian localization) cannot be called a full-fledged addition or continuation.

If this analogy is relevant here, then JA: UB is to JA2 what Deadly Games is to the first JA. Removed strategic planning, removed the need to capture cities ... Removed almost everything except tactical battles. Although, I must say, it would be very strange if the tactical part were also removed ... Well, first things first.

So, our hero is the same soldier of fortune who successfully liberated a small Latin American state from an evil dictator. But it’s not time to rest on our laurels, the war is now - on the border of Arulco, shortcomings of the Ricci Mining and Exploration company, which was headed by Mrs. Deidrana Reitman during her time as Queen, are being discovered. Ricci Mining has already rebuilt its missile base in the border state of Trakone, from where they threaten to show Arulco's mother to Kuzkin. Enrico Civaldori, scratching the back of his head, allocates a sum from the country's budget for a targeted operation - together with that sacramental "small detachment of mercenaries" we will have to parachute into Tracon, reach the missile base and quietly annihilate it. Simple, huh? ..

So, the helicopter is still ready to take on board six people. We climb to the good old sites A.I.M. and M.E.R.C., and ... innovations await us here. Mercenaries no longer require daily wages. Pay once and get a soldier at your disposal for the entire operation. Well, in principle it is logical, because a targeted operation does not in any way imply the capture of mines, holding sectors, training the militia ... In general, there is no income at all, except for the sale of weapons. So it’s only natural that giving the mercenaries daily wages would be somewhat costly.

At M.E.R.C. two smart fighters appeared - a sniper and an attack aircraft, since such a conditional division into classes can be allowed here. In terms of training, these two (Gaston Cavalier and Frank Jorge) surpass many of the A.I.M. mercenaries.

Having finished personnel affairs, we fly out. The flight ends quickly, loudly and painfully, but the good news is also present - the detachment has time to arrive in Trakona. And here we are waiting for innovation number two - the free movement on the map was removed. That is, the size of the map has remained the same, and the number of sectors has been cut thirty times - only a narrow path from the "landing" to the missile base is now open for movement. But if you think that the total number of enemies in the game has somehow decreased from this, you are cruelly mistaken.

The number of opponents is still huge due to the high concentration of enemy mercenaries per square sector. If earlier many sectors were empty, now in each you will find a couple of dozen guards. But we no longer need to hold the sectors, since we have a “pinpoint operation”. Our task is to cut through ahead, and then at least the grass will not grow. Well, except that in Varrese (the nearest and only city) you can stay a little longer in order to sell weapons.

No more "fantasy mode". Goodbye, green spectrum, giving 106% protection ... Although the cats were left, and thanks for that. Bobby Ray's site has been shut down abruptly, although there is no need for it here. Due to the presence of a huge number of enemies with trophies in Tracon, there are no problems either ... There is, of course, no transport - and where else is there transport, if the game is played in a couple of game days?

In general, they made a gray set of turn-based battles out of an almost ingenious game, linear, like a rail, and short, like a sleeper. With sleight of hand and some experience in tactical battles, Unfinished Business can be completed in a few hours ... After which, alas, it is forgotten, because there are just one or two bright moments ...

Jagged Alliance 2: Wildfire

"The belly is a villain: he does not remember the good old."

Attributed to the people

So, Unfinished Business did not quite live up to the expectations of the players, but the angry exclamations could not help anything - the Sir-Tech company safely ceased to exist. But the fans did not grieve, and the result was a flood of non-commercial modifications and additions - a common thing, in principle, especially for such a sensational game, which was Jagged Alliance 2. And it would not be worth a separate mention if it were not for the fact that One of these fan-made modifications, by some unknown means, fell into the hands of Strategy First .... A few months later it received the catchy name Wildfire along with the status of the official commercial continuation of the Jagged Alliance series.

So, welcome ... back to Arulco a couple of months before the arrival of the protagonist JA2. From now on you have to play as a secret agent of the FBI. So secret that even to take the drug lord Deidrana Raitman (did you think that she only profits from the mines?), The agent is sent to the company of A.I.M. mercenaries, so as not to break the conspiracy. The goal is still the same - to get to Meduna and brutally remove Deidrana from her high post.

The first impression of the game makes you think - an order of magnitude more conventional units are allocated for the recruitment of commandos than in all other parts of JA combined. But the bright dreams of an army that can be hired for such an amount is shattered by A.I.M. For the money that one average mercenary now requires, it used to be possible to hire several elite fighters. Three more or less smart mercenaries will sweep Arulco's budget clean up for the whole game. Further more. In the garrison of the first sector, there is a detachment of veteran mercenaries. "Blueshirts", ready to cut everyone who is not ready to meet them there! And this is in Omert, in the very first sector, immediately after the landing! And the village itself is not like that ... One might even say, not at all like that ...

The guys-developers did their best - they completely rebalanced the game, added several new types of weapons and redrawn almost all sectors of Arulco. Now the fortifications of important objects are really fortifications, and to storm them head-on with five soldiers means washing with blood. Moreover, these fortifications are not the guys from the construction battalion, and not even the rank and file - only veterans, military special forces and the elite guard of Deidran.

This is weird: now some buildings are being built in as many as three floors. At the same time, there is no way to switch to the third one - the Tab key stubbornly switches between the first and second floors. The conclusion is simple - snipers sitting above the second floor can only be killed with a mortar, shooting "somewhere nearby" so that they can be cut with shrapnel ...

To say that the game has become an order of magnitude more difficult is to say nothing. The game has become three ... four orders of magnitude more difficult. Only here you can truly appreciate the indispensability of the skills of camouflage, stealth and night operations - any attack during the day is practically doomed to failure.

And this whole crowd is against the six of us ...
But you have to attack, because waiting for the night is wasting time, and time is money to renew the mercenaries' contract ...

And there is also nothing to renew contracts, since loyalty in cities is growing catastrophically slowly, and with low loyalty, as you know, no one will work in the mines ... requires about as much per day as all the mines you occupy will bring in three days. Wildfire requires you to act very quickly ... Or very, very clearly. And more often than not, both. The game keeps you in suspense, not allowing you to relax for a second.

The disadvantage of this "continuation" is that it did not bring anything new with it. All the same country, all the same mercenaries, all the same NPCs ... Even the dialogues are the same. The sectors were redrawn - yes. The complexity was increased - I do not deny it. Several new "trunks" have been added - there is also such a thing. It is difficult to call it a continuation. Modification, no more. But it is very good, of high quality and allows you to pass JA2 once again, while getting great pleasure.

If I were the director

In the first JA, I would not artificially prohibit strong mercenaries from joining the player in the beginning. It would be better to make them 2-3 times more expensive, as in JA2.

Would fix the dreadful save situation. Jagged Alliance 2 - practically the only game, in which it makes sense to save immediately after loading, and preferably in different cells. Save files disappear into nowhere, leaving behind an empty space, as if it should be; saved games flatly refuse to load, "hanging up" the computer or causing the game to crash in Windows ... But you never know what! JA2 is one of the few games in which saving a game of just one cell is tantamount to a safety violation, because one day the player risks being surprised (and hardly happy) to find out that the saved game is deadly eaten by bugs, and go through the game will have to be repeated ...

Would fix the inclusion of step-by-step mode. The battle mode should be turned on either at the command of the player, or when the enemy notices our mercenary, and nothing else. Here, the game switches to turn-based mode, when the mercenary notices the enemy, which greatly complicates the covert movement.

In the JA2 character generation test, there are no questions that give the skill "sniper" (improved accuracy when shooting from rooftops), "heavy weapons" (no comments) and "camouflage" (improved effect from using camouflage). This is an obvious flaw in the system, which was corrected in "The Price of Freedom" ... But I would like to lie down fruitfully on the roofs of Arulco in good camouflage with a machine gun ...

Would do something about unbalanced sniping. At least taught the enemies to climb and get off the roofs on their own. For one single mercenary, perched on the roof, can easily clear the entire sector from a couple of ... tens ... thousands of enemies.

Jagged Alliance is a world classic that everyone needs to know about. This is an honorable page in the history of game creation. If you don't like Jagged Alliance, it's forgivable. If you haven't played it ... This is practically a criminal offense! The verdict is to get it out and play, since even now it looks decent on monitor screens ...

Jagged Alliance: Dilogy is a mini-compilation of the last two (freshest) toys in the entire five-piece tactical strategy series (including original editions and official add-ons). It was the chronology of the issue that was decisive for inclusion in the collection.

Jagged Alliance: Back in Action

Initially, this issue had a shortened title ("Tough Alliance 3"). The plot is a remake of the previous, second issue. The main character, having gathered a group of mercenaries, goes to Latin America to help return power to the ousted ruler of the fictional country of Arulco. All characters from the original set, as well as local recruits, will help restore justice. Among the most notable fighters are a Soviet major and a nudist female medic.

  1. Lack of a fantastic mode.
  2. The recruitment of mercenaries must meet certain conditions (nationalistic, professional), therefore, refusals to "find a job" are possible.
  3. Replacing turn-based combat with real-time combat with a tactical pause option.
  4. Only some specially marked barriers are subject to destruction.
  5. The noise of movement is a reference point for both the enemy and allies.
  6. Huge selection of weapons, camouflage, accessories that have a limited resource of use.

However, not all innovations were positively received by gamers.

Jagged Alliance: Crossfire

The almost disastrous previous installment forced the developers to bring back several elements from the old games. And now a project in which mercenaries will have to return power to the old government in another country, also fictional, Kanpaa, represents a symbiosis of old ideas and new developments:

  1. The size of the country has become smaller, but the landscape has varied markedly.
  2. Management (hiring soldiers, trade, seizing territories) remained the same.
  3. Refugees working almost for free have appeared on the mercenary list.
  4. The surprise effect plus the approaching "fog of war" made the game more difficult.

But the movements and movements of living and already killed characters often cause hysterical laughter.

TBS Lost Sector

Lost Sector is a free multiplayer game that combines turn-based action, tactical strategy and character leveling. Has nice graphics and style.

Lost Sector Is a new free browser-based online strategy game in the turn-based action genre. A key feature from the founders of the genre (Jagged Alliance, Fallout, X-COM) is the direct participation of the player for each fighter on the battlefield. In terms of the design style, it can be noted that the project is executed in the atmosphere of the post-apocalypse, the graphics are very nice, given that the game is browser-based. Game world divided into several key locations, among which there are peaceful places where you can stock up on weapons, communicate with other players, create groups, and places where battles are constantly taking place, including those initiated by the players themselves with a level limit (the balance is preserved).

Let's plunge a little into the prehistory of the new virtual world... In the search for a rare resource "Rebis", capable of prolonging human life and making it a powerful combat vehicle by introducing special implants into the body, a fierce war began on the planet, which destroyed all civilizations. Surviving humanity revived the world by continuing to search and develop the resource. They were divided into factions, between which the struggle ensued in the form in which we have the opportunity to participate.

You have to choose your faction and take part in the struggle for control over the production of "Rebis", performing interesting missions and tasks. The battles take place in turn-based mode, and the result depends only on you and your correctly chosen strategy.

Lost Sector will appeal to all lovers of the genre, lovers of games in the style of Jagged Alliance and Fallout. The fact of turn-based gameplay may seem boring to many, but on the other hand, it allows you to very accurately calculate your every step, creating your own specific tactics. The project is constantly evolving, the community is growing - the game is building a promising future, and the developers are constantly adding something new to the game (new maps, fixes, content - everything is in abundance).

V recent times the genre of tactical games, originating from offline jagged alliance and commandos, has become extremely popular on the Russian Internet. A lot of different games work in this genre, from one of the first attempts to translate the genre into online - Total Influence to pop - cartoon Al Qaeda goal # 1 and Mail's Riot, which is also quite popular. There is nothing to say about the eponymous jagged alliance online - they are being exploited with might and main.

Therefore, the masters of war, also in this vein, did not become a discovery even once. Although the game turned out to be good, it had its own shortcomings.

Review of the game Masters of War

The game is not the easiest in terms of its foundations, although for fans of the genre it will not be difficult to understand all the intricacies.

In fact, there is the main character, which we can safely pump, improving the characteristics, putting on the best gear.

However, our main warrior hero has a base, almost like in the classic browser strategy, where you can improve the extraction of resources, on which you can build a barracks for hiring mercenaries, a recruiting point to increase the level of available mercenaries. You also need an arsenal to buy gear, a command center to increase looting, a shield department and an outpost to increase the mercenaries guarding the base. By the way, they often attack, so the outpost and the hiring of soldiers should not be postponed for later.

Regarding fights - there are three types... The most common is farming - attacks on the bases of other players. Attacks are carried out with mercenaries, so they should be hired the coolest, since the protection of resources is a priority. At the same time, at the time of an attack on your base, you can join the battle yourself.

The main one is story missions, where a lot of experience, silver and gear falls, which is generally priceless to begin with. You cannot take mercenaries. The missions are quite interesting, they are played as in offline games of this kind. Gear and weapons obtained without an arsenal are generally priceless, for example, they gave a Beretta rifle, which can only be made with 11 arsenal. I have an opportunity joint passage missions, but only with clans.

The third type of battles is the struggle for territories, the seizure of lands by clans.

The combat system is classic, but it consists of several modifiers.

For every move there is a certain amount of action points, which depends on stamina. No stamina - almost no AP on your turn. Endurance is knocked down by shots from evil enemies, and it is also wasted if you crawl or run. When you walk and shoot yourself - stamina is not wasted.

When stamina is at zero, you lose consciousness and cannot walk at all.

If there are several positions that affect the damage and the spent number of action points per turn.

In short, it is beneficial to shoot from a prone position when the enemy is far away. Sitting down - when close. Standing - when point-blank.

The most important thing is to calculate every shot and movement.

A couple of tips - do not run, walking is enough in most cases, running is needed only for a swift throw to the enemy who sat down around the corner, and even then it is not always justified, since endurance flies only on the way.

After each kill, if there is no enemy who shoots at you, it is worth restoring stamina. Just press the move, and not spent action points will go into stamina.

These three rules - to restore stamina at every opportunity, not to run again and use the optimal shooting positions, are quite enough for successful game at the start, the rest will come with practice.

Character development, guide

First of all, don't repeat my mistakes, don't put all your glasses into pistols! Up to 50-60 points, no more. Just resetting the characteristics and possession of weapons is paid, you will need about 150 rubles to change the stats. Then you will get a better and more pleasant gun, for example, a rifle, but there is nothing to throw in. in general, as I understand it, you need a couple of types of weapons for different types of combat - melee and long-range, so pistol skills can come in handy.

The main characteristics are agility. endurance, vitality, I personally pump evenly, and so far I do not regret it. I haven’t taught strength yet, while I’m carrying everything that I need. And so what's the point of a large number of lives, if you don't have time to shoot, not to mention the fact that after the shot you hide around the corner.

And also what is the use of a large amount of AP and stamina if they add up with a shot.

Everything is clear on the base, so we develop resources, build protection, hire mercenaries.

Donut

The game asks for money, yes. Premium account (50% experience and money) - 300 rubles per month. Shop of premium shells for the cannon - 2-3 rubles. Elite mercenaries - also for money, but at first they were quite symbolic - 6 mercenaries for 7 rubles, that is, 1 vote, then everything is more expensive.

Tranquilizers and instant purchase of items in the arsenal also for real rubles. Somehow, a lot goes beyond the game of VKontakte, but everyone is already used to it.

Disadvantages of the game.

Occasionally it freezes slightly, not fatal, but unpleasant.

The battles are quite long in time. Although the game is tactical, it is forgivable.

AI blissful that pPC. In the process, I want to scold the bots with obscenities, since one runs to the embrasures, the second lies in starting location, the third is just picking his nose.

Moreover, bots in missions, for example, act clearly, move away, hide on obstacles, corners and walls, and so on.

There are some misunderstandings with the review, but not always. There are no obstacles, only a bush, and the enemy is displayed only when you approach him point-blank. At the same time, he shoots so cheerfully at the same time. And it happens - through the entire field are reflected. And it seems like there are glasses.

Finally, the map cannot be zoomed in, which is annoying.

Feedback, personal impression

Despite all this list of shortcomings, I liked the game. Nice graphics, albeit without a zoom, amusing missions that make you nervous and worried, recapturing your own base from greedy enemies eager for my resources, and robbing others ...

In general, at first very much interesting game... It's just quite obvious that due to the high role of donat, she will get bored very quickly, so in principle I will not be bullied into it. I don’t want to, it’s too slow for me, and it takes too much time.
