All cards are berserk. Collectible Card Game Berserker: Domestic Hero in the TCG World

  • 30.08.2021

"Berserk. Heroes ”is a new generation Russian collectible card game. It is a strategic duel between two players leading their armies. You will be able to independently compose your decks, recruit creatures in battle, use spells and weapons, play various events on the field - everything to get an advantage over the enemy, everything to win!

The gameplay is built around unique characters. The game takes place in the fantasy world of Laar.

The whole gameplay is based on maps. In your deck you must have one hero card, which is your alter ego in the game, has a certain supply of life, ability and element. There are five elements in total: steppes, mountains, forest, swamps, darkness. Cards without elements are neutral. In addition to the hero card, in the deck you can have at least 40 cards of the element to which your hero belongs, but no more than three copies of the same card.

Cards have different values and powers. The cost is expressed in the amount of gold that will have to be given away from your reserve. Each turn, players expand their gold pool by 1 to a maximum of 10 coins, and restore it to the maximum at the beginning of each of their turns.

There are also five types of cards themselves: heroes, creatures, spells, equipment and events. The creatures play out and defend their master. Three types of equipment cards can be played to empower your hero. Spells have a one-time effect and have different effects. Events most often affect both players and spread their effect until the event is replaced or reset.

In addition, cards, as is customary in the TCG, have rarity: Frequent, Uncommon, Rare and Ultra-rare.

Having received four cards in their hands, the players decide whether they will discard any cards and get new ones or they are happy with everything. After this mulligan, the game begins, consisting of three phases:

  • start of the turn - face down cards are restored, the player receives a new gold marker and one card in his hand;
  • the main stage - the cards are played and paid, attacks are made with creatures and cards, and various features of the cards are used;
  • end of turn - the effect of various effects ends and the turn is transferred to another player.

Played creature cards, as a rule, cannot immediately attack and appear on the battlefield rotated 90 degrees. On your turn, you can choose the target for the creature - another creature or the enemy's hero, and the second player, accordingly, if there is an open creature, can put it up for defense. An attack on a closed creature or hero inflicts damage only on the enemy, and when an open creature is attacked, both sides will suffer losses expressed in wounds. When the number of wounds is greater than or equal to the health of a creature, it is considered dead.

This is how the game goes on until the winner is determined.

The winner is the player who is the first to reduce the enemy's health to zero or below. Also, the player loses if the player's deck is over, and he cannot take a card for the third time at the beginning of his turn.

About Collectible Card Games

CCG is the most popular format of card games all over the world, for example, games that need no introduction like "" and "" belong to it. Collecting your decks and expanding your collection of cards, you get new game possibilities and combinations within the game. Taking possession of a rare card, you will experience incomparable pleasure!

Representatives of this category are dynamic, interesting and rich games, but at the same time they have a huge space for the manifestation of imagination and their strategic skill. The CCG format allows you to constantly update the metagame, make decks more diverse and respond to fan demands with new sets and boosters - special extensions with a random set of cards. By purchasing them, you expand your personal collection, get access to new combinations, strategies and tricks.

All cards have their own rarity, the rarer the card, the more valuable it is for collectors and players, and, as a rule, the stronger or more original the action of the card itself.

« Where is my ax, where is my meat? Oh no, it's poisoned ...»

I had a blog period when I wrote a series of reviews on collectible card games. There was also a popular MtG, and adored by me LegendoftheFiveRings, and smaller representatives of card games. I also planned another review of one Russian card game, but the stars in the sky did not match, I got tired of writing about CCG and jumped to the usual board games. But, looking through a telescope tonight, I realized that the stars have finally come together, and I just have to write a review of the game Berserk.

One article is definitely not enough for the whole game with its rich history, so I will limit myself to the last special issue called “ Elemental Storm».

What is Berserker?

Once upon a time, approximately when dinosaurs were still running around the Earth, Ivan Popov and Maxim Istomin got acquainted with the game Magic:theGathering(I cannot remain silent about this game). And so they liked the "hoe" that they decided to make their own game. With beautiful cards, a field and its own unique world. This is how the game appeared Berserk.

This is a strategic collectible card game in which creatures fight each other on the battlefield. The winner is the one who can defeat the opponent's army.

As with any typical CCI in Berserker each player has their own deck of cards. The cards have a rarity level - from numerous to legendary. In this plan B(Berserker) has no special differences. But the gameplay is unique, especially if we talk about it within the framework of the Russian gaming industry.

Game process

All cards in Berserker Are creatures, terrains, artifacts and equipment. A starting deck is made up of at least 30 cards and no more than 50. Cards are taken from special sets - starters and boosters. There are 6 elements in the game (there used to be 5), into which the cards are divided - steppes, forests, mountains, swamps, darkness and fire.

Of the 30 cards, each player deals himself 15. Yes, this is the main catch - you will not be able to play all the cards, no matter how much you want it. After that, the formation of detachments occurs. Each card has a value in the upper left corner, displayed in gold or silver crystals. Depending on the number of elements to which the cards belong in your deck, and the order of the move (you go first or second), you recruit a squad for a certain number of crystals. For example, for a two-element squad, the player who moves first is given 23 gold crystals and 22 silver crystals. And if the second player has one element, then he has 25 gold and 23 silver. Accordingly, the fewer the elements, the more crystals you will have.

After recruiting a squad, each player begins to place cards on the field.

The fact is that Berserk a bit atypical CCG. It's more like a wargame. Players fight on a 5x6 field. The arrangement takes place in its own half of the field according to special rules, which I will not dwell on. And as soon as you have laid out the cards on the field, the game turns into chess. Each card has a health level, movement points, a unique property, and attack indicators.

And yet there is a reason for the English text here ...

At the beginning of the game, you lay out the cards in the three available lines. Tanks are placed in front logically, then magicians, archers and other ranged warriors follow them. The deployment of troops should be taken seriously, as it is one of the keys to victory.

On their turn, players can move and take actions. Moreover, this can be done with all cards at once, and not one card at a time, passing the move to the opponent.

Open creatures (i.e. untapped ones) can move a certain number of cells on the field. On a free square to the right, left, top or bottom, but not diagonally (unless the card has such a unique property).

An open creature can take one of three types of actions:

- attack with a simple blow;

- act as a defender against a simple blow;

- use the ability of the card for the turn.

After applying the action, the card must rotate 90 °, which means that it can no longer move and act. This system is familiar to experienced Kkish players.

Now I will briefly go over the types of actions.

Attack with a simple blow... Each card has magic numbers like 1-2-2 or 3-4-5, etc. Is a simple blow. The first number is weak, the second is medium, and the third is strong. A simple blow can only attack a nearby card. If the attacked creature is open, then it is fighting the attacking creature. Each player rolls a die. First, it turns out who threw the most. Then the difference between the throws is calculated. For example, the attacker rolled 4, the defender - 1. The difference is 3. We look at the special table to see what happened in the end. Attacker rolls more + difference 3 = attacker throws a medium hit reflecting a miss.

From this table, you can also find out that it is possible for the attacker to take damage from the defender if he throws more and with a big difference. So in this game you can easily step on a rake.

Only if the defender is turned, then he will not be able to strike back. The attacker deals a weak blow on a die roll of 1-3, a medium blow on a die roll of 4-5, and a strong blow on a 6+ dice.

Appointment of a defender... Any face-up creature card that stands next to the defending and attacking creatures can be assigned as the defender. In this case, the defender says - sorry, you are not attacking this creature, but me... This is good when you need to save an important card. Defenders are very important in Berserker.

Using a feature per turn... Some cards have such properties - they are indicated by a special turn icon. As a rule, this is some kind of special blow. Only in this case, the creature cannot receive a retaliatory blow.

If the creature has wounds equal to or more lives, it is destroyed. The game ends when one of the sides is completely taken out.

Elemental Storm

This is a special set in which you will find everything to thoroughly familiarize yourself with the game. Namely:

- regulations;

- 6 decks of different elements;

- a deck of neutral cards;

- 2 playing fields (for each player);

- cubes;

- all the necessary chips.

The rules are bright and colorful. Everything you need for the entry level is described there. But I still recommend downloading the advanced rules from the official website after studying this rule book. There are a lot of pages in small print, but all the nuances are described in detail. Anyway, you will have questions sooner or later.

As I mentioned, in Berserker there are 6 elements. V Storm of Elements all of these elements are represented by full-fledged decks consisting of 30 cards. You can build your own decks from any number of elements, you can add neutral cards, or you can play with mono decks, which I recommend doing if you are unfamiliar with the game.

Double sided comic

Let's talk about each of the elements, because they differ not only in the emblems and color of the cards.

Akkenians (element of the steppes)... Good warriors who have both strong healthy tanks and small weak warriors who have the skill of throwing and shooting. They often possess the "vanguard" property, which allows them to carry out one unanswered attack with a simple blow to the nearest opponent before the start of the battle. They often know how to "give" the opponent's creatures the property of "vulnerability", which allows the Accenians to inflict more wounds when attacking.

Arkhaalites (swamp element)... These comrades are masters of poisoning. They have little health, the blows are very weak, but they have the ability to poison and inflict additional damage on poisoned creatures. In addition, when a poisoned creature unfolds, it loses health equal to the level of poisoning. Thus, the archaalites simply try not to die before the rival dies from poisoning. They also know how to throw, use the shield of Arkhaal ( are you poisoned? Then I have protection from your non-magical attacks!), and some creatures also know how to heal if a poisoned creature dies. One of my favorite elements.

Linungi (element of mountains)... Very interesting guys who know magic. The main mechanics of this element are meditation (allows you to use tokens of other cards), spells, discharges and accumulate tokens. For dropping tokens, a creature can do something super-duper cool. For example, deal 4 damage to all cards in the selected vertical row. It's powerful, believe me. They have protection against ranged attacks and armor. Dedicated to lovers of magic.

Guardians of the forest (element of the forest)... Secretive warriors of the forest, who, in addition to excellent possession of shooting skills, know how to get extra lives. And if you don't pay attention to some especially well-regenerating creatures, then out of 4 initial lives, they can easily have 15 additional ones.

Slua (element of darkness)... The main feature of the cards of darkness in this set is vampirism. Extremely dangerous creatures, because when they strike, they heal for the same number of lives. In addition, Atalle's card can also fly. Difficult opponents.

Draconians (element of fire)... A completely new element for me. Such an interesting element turned out. They know how to throw, shoot, they can be strong dragons, they burn both strangers and their own, they have the skills of jumping through cells, and they also have the property of scales - they receive damage only from simple blows, while they have 5 or more wounds.

I don't want to get hung up on neutrals. Unless the card Priest of Cthulhu smiled (once again they remembered Lovecraft).

I was very pleased with the presence of fields. Nice, cardboard, with lovely art. Of course, you don't really bring them to the club with you, but if you take the game for home gatherings, then they are very relevant.

There are only 2 cubes, and you don't need more. Each player has a dice.

Tokens are offered in bulk on all topics - injuries, poisoning, vulnerabilities, negative effects, extra lives - everything is there.

In general about the game

In this part of the review I will express my thoughts about the game. Berserk... You never know someone hears about it for the first time and he wonders if it is worth buying at all.

Many people compare any collectible card game with Magic for similarities. So here Berserk not like Magic. There is no concept of mana, cards move around the field, all selected cards are available at once, there is no random set of cards every turn. Before us is almost a wargame, only instead of figures there are cards. We immediately have a powerful full-fledged army, which will become weaker with each move. The idea of the game is more like chess than Magic: the Gathering.

My opinion about Berserker it has always been like this: a good game for beginners KKishnikov. This is when you don't really feel sorry for the money spent, because you will learn how to collect decks, and the booster in the game are inexpensive, and the tournament support is excellent, and if you suddenly get bored, there is always the opportunity to jump on Magic. Honestly, I never wanted to add newbies to expensive games right away.

In clubs I have always seen many children who actively play Bers. And they only have decks, at best, rarki and promo from free Friday newbie tournaments. And they are cool, they play with pleasure. Older players are looking for ultras in boosters, they even buy whole displays for this. But the fact remains - in Berserker a deck without super rare cards can beat an expensive deck.

The players often swear at this, that the cube sometimes starts to be very harmful and ruins the whole game. And the seemingly weak enemy army now and then inflicts strong blows.

Another weakness of the game is that only 15 cards out of your entire deck will play. And who knows what kind of cards they will be. Maybe the ones you are counting on, or maybe the cheap stuff you used to plug the gaps in the deck. On the other hand, other CCGs also have the concept of a starting hand and the subsequent drawing of cards every turn. There, too, may not come at all the cards you were hoping for. Those. v Berserker your own version of randomness. Someone likes it, some don't.

An ambiguous option is that all the cards are open. There is no surprise out of hand. When you play with a hidden hand, your opponent has no idea what you are currently sitting with - strong cards or nonsense.

Berserk in this regard does not offer any surprises. It is the same as in chess, which I constantly remember today. Everyone clearly knows how the rook moves, the only question is which way it will go. I know for sure that that card over the turn makes a shot for 2, the only question is who the shot will go to.

Now there are many similar games - SummonerWars, MageWars, for example. There are also fields and their own army, which is laid out on the field, moves along it and inflicts damage on the opponent.

It is very important to try to study the properties of the cards in the deck in advance. Otherwise, the first games can be boring and boring.

“- I shoot this creature at yours.

- Eh no, brother, he has protection from the shot.

- Then why oh why.

“And he has protection too.

- Who can I?

- In this one, but his defensive reaction will work, and he will respond with a back shot.

- HM…»

Although there is nothing to worry about, since all card games require the study of cards. V Berserker a lot of technical terms, so the first time the book of rules will be very popular with you. What is a blessing? Armor? Vampirism? Shot? Anger? Ranged attack without specifying range? Soulcatcher? Etc. Be ready.

And the glossary starts from the 15th

For me it’s a relaxing game, an opportunity to think about who to hit, and have fun leaving the dice.

About the new release

Either last, or the year before last, the publishing house Hobby world wanted to run B abroad, but in the form of an LCD, not a CCI. And then they added that this version of the game will be intended only for foreigners, and we will have the good old collectible format. And I felt sad.

Managed to grab extra lives

Well, I don't like CCI, I'm tired of it. A race against legality, finding the right cards, revealing dozens or even hundreds of boosters ... no, I definitely don't want to. I would love to play free-form games, where everything is legal and new standard sets are released periodically.

What about the same English version B so until now nothing is known. But at the end of last year, a special gift set was released, which I am talking about today.

Previously, there were already all sorts of duel sets for two players. There you could find tokens, rules and 2 decks of different elements. In the gift set, we get 6 elements at once, which is good news.

Honestly, the set Elemental Storm made me happy. Everything a beginner player needs is in this box. Even if you doubt which elements to play with, then Elemental Storm corrects this misunderstanding and allows you to replay with all the elements.

This set can be played safely at home with family or friends. Only with deck building, probably, it will not work out entirely. Because it takes time. I can't imagine a situation where friends who are unfamiliar with the game come to me, I give them a box of cards and say - you choose something there for the deck ... Most likely I myself will have to collect something for them or just play with decks with one element.

It's even easier when each player has such a set - then there is no need to argue who will take a good card. Yes, and you can play mirror - like a swamp to a swamp.

I looked at the draconians with pleasure, played with vampires that I had never played before (demons and soul-catchers with reapers are closer to me). Once again I made sure that I like to play with a swamp =)

In general, I got a wave of nostalgia. For some, this set will be the first step in understanding the world of Laar, tournaments, purchases of boosters, etc. will go further. And this set is enough for me to sometimes play with my friends.

I still hope that such sets will still come out, and maybe the CCI format will move into something else, more interesting to me. Although I recently spoke with my friend, the head of the board games club, and he said the following: “ If they (Hobby World) change the format, they will bury the game, definitely". So what to whom.

And I like this set. For those who wanted to get acquainted with the game - the best option. The cost of the game is 1140 Russian rubles, which is inexpensive.

CCI "Berserker"

"Berserk" is a board game published by Fantasy World LLC. Belongs to the class of collectible card games.

The name of the game is consonant with the Scandinavian word Berserker - a fearless warrior, ready to rush into battle at any moment, forgetting about fear and pain. Berserk is one of the first Russian collectible card games ..

Since 2003, Berserker has remained one of the most popular CCGs in Russia and Belarus. There are clubs of fans of the game, championships are regularly held

Background

In the distant world of Laar, wandering detachments of the five elements are fighting, led by powerful Ungar mages. Now everyone can gather their own army and become the arbiter of their own destiny and, possibly, the destiny of Laar ...

Boosters (additional sets, consist of 7 cards, one of which is rare / super-rare or ultra-rare). The boosters of the latest issues also contain play money of various denominations - "Sodara". After accumulating enough sodars, players can exchange them for promo cards at the board game club in their city.

Educational sets "Legends of Russia" (18 cards: two squads of 9 cards, game rules, chips and a cube for the game).
Fan-set (Parody set of 28 cards). Some of the Fan-set cards have their own back: it indicates that the game features of such cards are deliberately absurd. Abnormal backed cards are not permitted in official tournaments.

Also, due to the disturbed balance, the cards "Herald of Battle", "Serpent of Chaos", "Ifrit", "Kyedel", "Cloak of the Invisibility", "Wagon of the Inquisition", "Staff of Distortion", "Pathfinder", "Orb of Lightning" are prohibited in official tournaments. "," Prisoner of Memory "," Keeper of the Tree "," Elyata ".
Finally, in official tournaments, regular players are not allowed to play over-powered overlord cards (Xedden, Tree of Life, Spirit of Adrelian, Kianna, Nut, Krom, Arhaal). Overlords are used only by game masters in special tournaments, and ordinary players try to defeat these overlords. The one who succeeds, gets the whole deck of the overlord, and most importantly the "Overlord" card itself as a prize.

Cards

Cards in "Berserker" are divided into 6 types (according to the names of the elements), and those, in turn, into classes:
Forests (green background with vines)
Children of Krong (some representatives of this class are attributed to other elements - Swamps, Mountains, Steppes, Darkness)
Guardians of the Forest

There are also a number of "inter-elemental" classes: Angels, Reborn, Harpies, Warrior Heroes, Magic Heroes, Dragons, Overlords, Elementals.

In the fourteenth set ("Cataclysm"), multi-element cards appeared - they have the signs of several elements at the same time and have their own design in the form of streams of water. As a rule, such cards have either an inter-element class (say, elemental), or they are endowed with several classes at once, one from each element.

Neutral cards coexist with any other. And between the elements there are often "conflicts" that complicate the recruitment and payment of the detachment (each element in the same detachment, starting from the third in a row, is fined).

Board card game Berserker: rules of the game

Gameplay and Objective Berserker

Like any CCG, the game consists of many separate card decks (basic "starters" and random "boosters" with rare cards), which the player competently acquires to collect his own unique deck. There are 23 sets of basic sets. The goal of the game is to win through competent control of your creatures, tactical combat.

Peculiarities

The game traditionally has two directions: the actual game and the collection. The complete collection contains over 2000 cards. A distinctive feature of the game itself from other CCGs is complete openness: players see not only their own and laid out cards, but also the opponent's cards. You can also note the presence of a random element, the role of which is played by the cube.

In addition to the classic basic version, there are also:

  • Educational kits - Legends of Russia, Legends of Russia 2, Legends of Russia 3: heroes with 18 cards each, made in the theme of old Russian heroes and their entourage.
  • Fan-Set is a special set of 28 cards with humorous abilities and descriptions.
  • The Lost Squad is a special set containing 24 full-size cards.
  • Professional dueling sets. 5 complete sets, including sets of cards of the two warring factions, and other necessary components for a duel match.

The popularity of the game has also made it possible to expand the universe in the direction of media entertainment.

  • A number of authors, since 2008, have released 4 books on the world of this desktop wargame. The book is a fantasy biopic of individual card characters.
  • Standing apart, self-contained board game "Tempest of Elements".
  • In addition, a number of video games were launched on the market based on: Online version on the Windows computer platform ("Berserk Online"), as well as its adapted version for more platforms ("Berserk: Rebirth"), browser version for social networks and mobile platforms ("Berserker: Cataclysm"). Each game includes, in addition to the maps of the original version, also its own unique sets of cards.

Preparing to play

For a full-fledged game, a minimum of 30 cards, a field of 5 × 6 cells, six-sided dice and chips are required. The dice determine the order of the move. The leading player receives 23 gold and 22 silver nuggets, the second 24 gold and 23 silver nuggets. Each player from his cards collects a game deck on the crystals received, which is laid out on the game table.

For a good chance of winning, the player is advised to have creatures of different elements and classes in his hands, while taking into account that cards of different elements conflict with each other and, starting with the third new element, are subject to a fine.

There are cards of 6 types (elements), each of 1-4 classes, neutral cards, plus there are multi-element cards related to several or all types at once.

  • Forests (Elves, Ents, Children of Krong)
  • The mountains (Gnomes, Linungs, Yordlings)
  • Swamps (River Maidens, Arhaalites, Trolls, Undergrounds)
  • Steppe (Orcs, Akkenians, Toa-Dan, Brotherhood)
  • Forces of Darkness (Coven, Demons, Slua, Twilight)
  • Fire (Draconians)
  • Neutral cards (Inquisitors, Koyars, Corsairs, Spawn)

In addition, maps are typed in appearance:

  • Creature. The main combat strength of the player. Can attack, dodge and defend. There are flying (when used, move to an additional zone) and symbiotes (move to another creature).
  • Artifact. With its help, special actions are performed.
  • Terrain. Changes the conditions of the playing field
  • Equipment. There are five classes (armor, melee weapons, protection, shoes, potion). Changes the characteristics of Creature cards.

Game progress in the Berserker board game

During his turn, the walker can move his creatures or force them to attack the opponent's cards with either a simple or special, described on the card, blow. A used card is turned over by 90 ° C and is inoperative until the end of this turn. The player has the right to decide how many cards he wants to use, after which the right to move is transferred to the opponent.

Working cards, unlike inverted ones, can block or reflect an oncoming blow. Also, at the will of the defending player, they can take a blow not intended for them, protecting other creatures. In addition, there are many individual card exceptions that can be used to bypass the rules. At the beginning of each next turn, inactive cards are restored.

During an attack, players roll a die that determines the type of attack. The one who threw out the higher number of points has the right to lower the attack power to a weaker one. The wounds received are applied to the cards of the opponents. Before, during and after the attack, available special actions from both sides can be used. In addition, specific actions can be carried out at the beginning, at the end of the turn.

End of the game

Victory is awarded when the opponent's cards are completely destroyed.

Features and Description

There are three main versions - "Berserker Elemental Storm", "Berserker Heroes" and Monopoly based on the Berserker universe.

"The Tempest" is a board game and contains everything you need for a comfortable pastime. Each game in the Tempest is not like the last one, as this set contains items that are unique only for this set. The newest version of the CCG is Heroes.

They began publishing in 2015 in connection with the emergence of refined rules and new decks. The third game is classic Monopoly, but in the world of Berserk and with the game mechanics of a collectible card game.

Rules and purpose of the game

The rules of the Berserker Heroes and Berserker Elemental Storm board game are similar. As in any collectible card game, you need to collect your decks and by competently purchasing "boosters", the player will be able to assemble his own unique deck. For "Heroes" there are boosters "Berserker Heroes: Strength and Honor". The goal of the party is to defeat the enemy with the help of tactics and competent combat.

"BERSERKnaPOLEA" is in many ways similar to a monopoly. The goals of the two games are similar - the winner is the one who was able to save his capital, but in "Berserker" fantasy elements and new decks are added. Also in "Berserk" the rules of the game have been changed.

Preparation

Before starting the game in "BERSERKNAPOLEA", place all the cards in the sectors assigned to them, put all the chips on the "Start", get the initial money and determine who will go first. Further, your actions will practically not differ from actions in other options.

Before you start playing in the card board game "Berserker Storm of Elements", there are a few things to know.

The game "Berserker" uses chips and markers that must be pulled out before playing. The starting deck of the game consists of thirty cards. You can build your own deck yourself. The deck should be no more than fifty and no less than thirty, there should be no more than three repeating ones.

There are five types of elements and neutral cards, they also indicate their belonging to them. Berserker has several types of cards: creature, terrain, artifact and equipment. Each type has its own properties.

Game progress

Flying creatures

The flying ones are placed in additional places on the playing field. They attack anyone all over the battlefield. Only the same flying one or the one who is close to the attacked is capable of protecting against such an attack.

The flying ones will not become defenders of the ground from the attack of the ground ones. The flying ones will only be able to protect the flying ones from the ground attack. The flying one can always be attacked with a ranged attack.

On the flying ones, you can not use more than fifteen crystals when recruiting your creatures before the start of the battle in "Berserker". The flying equipment cannot be worn.

Symbiotes

After opening a symbiote, it is placed on the same cell with any "owner" you have, only one such symbiote can be placed on one. A symbiote dies if its host dies.

All the contents of the deck in "Berserker" are divided into elite and private. Privates can be recruited with gold and silver crystals, elite creatures only with gold crystals. The cost is shown in the upper left corner (in the crystal). Those not taken to the squad are shuffled into the deck, all crystals can not be spent.

If the player has only one element in the deck, then the player receives an additional gold crystal, and if there are more than two elements, then the player gives one gold crystal.

The battlefield and the balance of power

The playing field in Berserker "Tempest of Elements" is a rectangle of five by six cells. The first three rows to you is your battlefield, the remaining three rows are the opponent's battlefield. The creatures stand opposite each other, face down to the players.

  • The first player occupies only the first three rows of three cells.
  • The second player occupies all five cells of the first row and three cells of the remaining two next to each other.

More details in the picture on the left. If the player has filled in the cells available to him, he can use additional ones on the second and third rows. If they also fill up, use the cells in the front row. An additional zone is a place for flying creatures and terrain. After revealing these cards, they move to the additional area. Dead creatures move to the "Cemetery".

After placing your deck, you need to turn them over (face down). The second player keeps the creatures on the third row hidden until the end of the opponent's turn. A card is revealed if it is attacked or attacked, if a spell or effect is used on it, it is also revealed.

Player One's Turn

Most of the cards in the game are creatures. How far they can move in one move is shown by movement points. The creature moves only forward or backward, right or left, and only to an empty square. Moving one square costs one movement point for them. Until all movement points run out, the creature can move. Movement points are restored at the beginning of the next turn or when the card is opened.

Any creature in Berserker can attack, defend, or use an action point feature. After its action, the card "closes", if it is closed, it will not be able to move and act. Creatures have a simple blow - three numbers.

Force

Each number indicates the strength with which the blow was struck: strong, medium and weak. With a simple hit, your creature can attack an opponent's creature in front; if an opponent attacks, the defender can choose a defender for himself. The defender will reflect the attack from the defender.

The defender can be anyone who is close to both the attacker and the attacker. Having protected someone from your squad, you will take an action, so the defender must be closed after the defense, and you can also choose him only against a simple blow and during the opponent's turn.

Cube

If the deflecting attack is open, then he enters the battle with the attacker. Then both players roll the dice and count the difference between the numbers dropped. Then, according to the table, they find out what blow was inflicted on both. If the damage of two players is the same: four damage or less - the attacker will inflict a weak blow. If damage is five or more, the defender deals a weak blow. The one whose value on the die was greater than the other moves up one row higher in the hit table. If the difference is four points, then the attacker delivers a strong one, and he himself receives a weak blow. In such a game situation, the attacker can climb higher in the table and inflict a medium blow, but will not receive damage on its own.

If the defender does not have a defender, then it does not roll. Only the attacker rolls a die, and strikes based on the value on the die. One-Three is weak, Four-Five is medium and six is a strong blow. The face-down card always gets hit, and the face-down card has a chance to fight back. Any blow will hurt the enemy's creature. When the creature's lives run out, it goes to the "graveyard".

Peculiarity

Sometimes, instead of a simple hit, you can use a creature's trait, its trait is indicated at the bottom of the card. To use the strike, you need to choose a target. If, when attacking, the defender was able to inflict damage in response, then when using the feature on him, the defender cannot hit in return and they will not be able to defend him. Not only the one standing next to you can become a target, it depends on the peculiarity. Strikes on targets are defined as strikes on face-down (face down).

Since melee attacks strike only the one standing next to it, then ranged attacks only strike those standing on other cells. Influences and spells can be used against any cards. If the feature type is not shown, then it is an impact. Berserker: Machine Wreck boosters can be used to make many unique custom decks.
