Skyrim over LAN. How to play Skyrim online: instructions

 • 15.12.2019

Tamriel online is an online Skyrim mod that allows you to play the game with your friends. The mod was created for the purpose of cooperative passage with or without mods. This is not an MMO! modification. It is by no means intended for over 1000+ players to play on the same server. The author of this mod believes that Skyrim is a wonderful game that will become many times more exciting when played together with friends in a cooperative way. Tamriel online will allow you to interact with each other as much as possible. In order to raise your server locally or through a dedicated server, you need to run software Tamriel Online Server. Accordingly, to connect to a friend - "Tamriel Online Client".
Instructions: how to play Skyrim in coop (creating a server)

3. Find out your IP address in one of the ways described below:
a). Press the key combination "Win" + "R". We enter the command "cmd". Enter the command "ipconfig" into the console
b). We go to the 2ip website and look at the column - your IP address.
4. Open the TamrielOnline.ini file with a notepad and enter your ip address in the "connectionip =" line.
5. Launch the game server itself via TamrielOnline_Live_Server.exe
6. Launch Skyrim, create \\ load a game character.
7. Press the "Home" button on the keyboard - at this moment the game should connect to your server by itself.

Instructions: how to play Skyrim in co-op (server connection)

1. To play skyrim online, you need to install the game itself.
2. Next, download the archive containing the client's files with the server (the mod itself), and unpack it into the game folder.
3. Find out the IP address of the server to which you are going to connect.
4. Open the TamrielOnline.ini file with a notepad and enter the server ip address in the line "connectionip =".
5. Launch the game (make sure you have the in-game scripts extension installed, as well as install Script Dragon - the "bin" folder and the "pluginsrc" folder must be dragged into the game folder).
6. Create \\ load the character.
7. Press the "Home" button on the keyboard - at this moment the game should connect itself to your friend's server.

A few notes to this fashion Skyrim for network game:

1. The mod is still under development, you shouldn't expect it to be fully functional without bugs.
2. If the server does not have an external ip address, or it is under NAT, you can always use such programs as Hamachi, Tungle, Evolve, etc.
3. The mod requires opening port 1283.
4. On this moment Tamriel online cannot sync NPC position. This means that your friend will have a dragon flying nearby when you will not see this dragon.
5. The following game parameters are currently being synchronized:
Character positions (yours and your friend's)
Turns players around the world
Fast transition (moving in a cart between cities)
Armor Sets
The weapon that is in your hands
Body assembly of your characters
Running, jumping, walking, stealth mode.
Combat animation
On my own I want to say that at this stage it is already possible play with a friend in Skyrim and get a lot of new impressions from this.
In the next update of the mod, the author promised to write synchronization between playable characters (NPC).
For quick access to information, and subsequent updates, the mod page will be added to the right side menu.

Solution of some technical problems fashion:

Problem: I have a laptop and don't have a Home button.
Decision: Change the Home key code ("key = 0x24") in the TamrielOnline.ini file to any other key code.

Problem: My character won't sync on other computers.
Decision: Double check that your firewall is not blocking outbound UDP traffic. The fact that the firewall is disabled will not save you from being blocked.

Problem: I cannot recognize characters in the chat
Decision: Same as the previous issue - “Double check that your firewall is not blocking outbound UDP traffic. The fact that the firewall is disabled will not save you from being blocked. " Also, make sure that outgoing traffic is not blocked from your friend.

Problem: I have constant crashes, the game closes / crashes.
Decision: This can be caused by your ENB filters. When you press "Home", some ENBs enter the framelimiting mode. To solve this problem, change the Home key "key = 0x24" to something else in the file "TamrielOnline.ini"
Crashes can also be the reason for selecting objects / NPCs / etc. ... in the console window. It is recommended to stop using the console AT ALL!

Problem: I get a failed to connect message when I try to connect to a server in Skyrim Online.
Decision: Make sure your firewall / antivirus is not blocking Skyrim, SKSE or TamrielOnline.asi. If you can't connect to the public server, try installing everything over again.

Problem: When you press the "Home" button, nothing happens.
Decision: Make sure you run the game with administrator rights via SKSE. Check that both "TamrielOnline.asi" and "ScriptDragon.dll" files are not locked. Make sure that all the files from the archive are installed, that you have met all the requirements listed at the top of the page.

Problem: I'm having trouble connecting via port forwarding.
Decision: Try using Hamachi. Make sure everyone has a Hamachi, you are connected to each other through Hamachi, and everyone (except the host) has their Hamachi IP addresses in their TamrielOnline.ini settings. The server in this case can leave its ip default - "127.0.0.1".

Problem: Duplicates of my character appear, or my actions are "mirrored".
Decision: Double check your server settings and make sure "testing" \\ "testing" is set to "false". If the problem persists, then the error is most likely known but still has no solution. At the same time, you can try connections via another computer or internet connection.

Problem: Clones of players appear.
Decision: This error occurs when people close Skyrim without being disconnected from the game. To get rid of clones, you can use the "markfordelete" command in the console.

Problem: I can't quit reading the book, I can't hear dialogue, or my menus are messed up.
Decision: Try opening and closing the console once. This happens when "canpause = false" is set on the server.

Problem: The game crashes when trying to connect to the server
Decision: You need to restart the server before uploading a new one.

Version history:
1.1.2 - Fixed a bug when attacking with a two-handed weapon. Added "startuptime" option in the server file "TamrielOnline.ini" - increase the value if your character is not fully loaded on other computers.

1.1.1 - Improved stability of the network skyrim games... The number of coordinates sent to the server has been reduced by 10 times, compared to the previous number.
Improved sync when switching from outside world to interiors. Now player models should disappear exactly after they turn off, or go out of the display area. Reduced the number of position updates when players are standing still.

1.1.0 - the quest synchronization system has been implemented. The new "questtype" option determines the type of synchronization: -1 (no synchronization, better performance), 0 (synchronization with host quests, by default), 1 (synchronization of all players' quests with each other).

Synchronized turns, position, armor, weapons, height, width, settings, statistics, names, walking, swimming, sitting, running, jumping, stealth mode, main battle sync (you can attack, and the battle animation will be visible on someone else's screen), implemented basic mod support.

Skyrim is one of the most popular role-playing games and computer games basically. Its huge, immense open world, in which you can move absolutely calmly, and you will not see obstacles in the form of invisible walls or any restrictions, its incredible pumping system that allows you to make your character a fighter of absolutely any orientation, its amazing story line, which will take you at least a hundred hours to complete, and at no moment will you get bored - all this makes this project one of the best in the history of game development.

However, it has a small drawback - it lacks a multiplayer mode, that is, you will not be able to play with people over the network. Naturally, with such a great single player mode, the lack of multiplayer cannot be written down as full-fledged disadvantages, but still, many gamers would not mind playing with their friends. But don't worry, playing Skyrim online is possible - you just have to try hard for that. You can always find a way out, and the fans did it by creating a special mod. Its capabilities at the moment, of course, are limited, but the fact that you can now play Skyrim online remains a fact. Now you just need to know how exactly to do it.

Training

So, if you want to play Skyrim online, then you need to prepare for it. You must have a single player client installed on your computer, for which you need to download a modification from the network that will allow you to try out the online mode. If you have not yet installed the game, you can download a modified version from the Internet, which will be much easier. Also you need to download and install special programwhich allows you to simulate a LAN network connection. There are quite a few such programs - the most popular among them are Tunngle, Hamachi and Evolve. This is special software that allows you to create a kind of local network, while you can be at a great distance from other players. When everything you need is installed on your computer, you can move on to the next step, which will bring you closer to trying what it is like to play Skyrim over the network.

Running the game

Well, you have both a modified game client and a simulator installed on your computer local network... How to play Skyrim online? To do this, you need to go to the simulator and create a room there, which will become a kind of local network. There you can invite your friends with whom you plan to play. Here you can launch any game and enjoy it with your friends online, but now it comes exactly about "Skyrim". The second step is to launch the game directly. After that you will need to create your own server. This is the hardest part of the process, but if you want to learn how to play Skyrim online, then you have to learn it.

Working with IP

Many gamers dreamed of the Skyrim Online project, many were waiting for the release of a separate multiplayer, but all hopes were in vain. Therefore, all that remains for you to do now is use this method. To create your own server, where you will then invite your friends, you first need to figure out the IP address, because it will be the key in the whole process. You need to find out your address, and there are several ways to do this. First, this can be done through the command line, in which you need to enter the ipconfig command. A decent amount of data will appear, among which you need to find the ipv4 line, which will contain your address, which will be required for playing on the network. You can also use one of the Internet services for this, which now exists more than enough. In addition, you can create an IP for playing over the network yourself - using a simulator program, if your version has a similar function. So, when you already have a ready-made address, you can create Skyrim Online yourself, without the help of developers.

Server creation

It is worth noting that the use of a simulator is, of course, necessary only if there is no local network between your computer and friends' computers. The likelihood of such a network, of course, is extremely small, because now they have already gone out of fashion - such networks, stretched between several, and sometimes dozens of houses in the same area, were popular in the early 2000s. Now they can be found mainly only in office premises, and even then not always, because the Internet connection in terms of speed and quality is now not much inferior to the local network. But if we go back to the topic, then now comes the most important moment. With your IP address in hand, you go to the game folder and open a file called TamrielOnline.ini (as a text document). There you need to find a line with the text connectionip = 127.0.0.1 - instead of these numbers, you need to enter your IP address. After that, start the game (if it has not yet been launched) and load your character (or create a new one, but this takes a very long time, and your friends are waiting, so it is better to take care of creating characters in advance). After your character is loaded, click on the Home button, which will create yours where you can play with your friends. The guide to launch Skyrim over the web is complete. One detail remains - how do your friends connect to the server you created?

Server connection

In fact, the process is practically the same as the previous file. To play Skyrim on a local network, you still need to open the TamrielOnline.ini file, change the IP address in it to the one given to you by the person creating the server. Then you start the game, load the character and press the Home button. Instead of creating a new server, it connects to an existing one, and you can start a joint game.

Features:

Do not think that this modification is a miracle that creates a full-fledged multiplayer for such a large-scale game. At the moment, the possibilities in the mod are limited, and you cannot do everything that is in the single player game, but the project is constantly evolving and supplemented with new features.

Tamriel Online is another attempt to add co-op mode to Skyrim, and quite successful.

This is NOT an MMO mod. It is NOT designed to be played by several thousand players simultaneously.

Skyrim is a wonderful world that would be even more interesting to explore with a couple of good friends. The creator of the mod is based on this principle.

It will be possible to play with or without other mods.

You can connect to existing ones, or create your own dedicated server.

The mod is still under development (WIP), but you can try it out now.

Requirements:

- Skyrim (1.9.32.0.8+)

- SKSE (1.7.3+)

- SkyUI(latest version) is optional. - Necessary if you want to display markers on other players

- Visual C ++ redistributable 2013required to run this mod.

Installation and connection:

Client installation:

1. Download both server and client files.
2.In operating system Windows, click on the start menu. select All Programs, Accessories and then Command Prompt.
3. Type IPCONFIG and press ENTER. Look at the first IPv4 addresses and
write the address on a piece of paper. (This will be your local IP address)
4. Open the downloaded Client Tamriel Online folder and copy or drag the following files to the / Common / SteamApps Skyrim folder: TamrielOnline.ini, (or to the pirated folder)
5. Open the downloaded folder Tamriel Online - server and run TamrielOnline_Live_Server.exe
6. Start Skyrim with SKSE
7. Download or Start new game.
8. After loading your character, press the "Home, key" to connect.

Host (server) installation:

1. Install the "client" as described above (except for changing the ip, skip this item), and install the "Server" according to the same principle.

2. Tell your ip to whomever you want to play with.

Client + server are in the archive

 • One of the features of the mods is not working properly.

Try running SKSE as administrator instead of running it normally.

 • I don't have a home key.

Change "key = 0x24" (so called "home") in "TamrielOnline.ini" to another key specified in the "TamrielOnline.ini"

 • What does "questtype" mean to do, in "ServerSettings.ini"

"Questtype" defines the type of sync, -1 (no sync, best performance), 0 (host sync, default), 1 (FFA sync, everyone's quests are in sync with everyone else).

 • My character is not syncing on other computers.

Double check that your firewall is not blocking outbound UDP traffic and try connecting again. Try increasing the "startuptime" in "TamrielOnline.ini" for a longer time period (value in seconds).

 • other people's characters are out of sync on my computer.

Double check that the other person (s) firewall is not blocking outbound UDP traffic and try to connect again. Make sure your server is available and that incoming UDP traffic is not being blocked by a firewall.

 • I get frequent crashes and the game is rumbling.

It could be caused by your ENB. Some ENBs will enter framelimiting mode when they press the home button. To solve this problem, change the "key = 0x24" (so called "home") in "TamrielOnline.ini" to a different key specified in the "TamrielOnline.ini" Failures can also be the reason for the selection of the object / actors / etc ... ... to the console window. If you select something to use using the console command, clear it before closing the console.

 • I am getting "could not connect" when I try to connect to the server.

Make sure your firewall / s are not blocking Skyrim, SKSE or TamrielOnline.asi. Check and make sure there is no room on the line with the IP you are connecting. To help determine the source of this problem, try connecting to shared server... If you are unable to connect to the shared server, then you can go through this process again to make sure everything is configured correctly.

 • I never get any messages telling me to press the home button.

Make sure you run the game as administrator through SKSE. Check that both "TamrielOnline.asi" and "ScriptDragon.dll" are not locked (check the properties of each file for the "unlock" option). Make sure that all the files from the archive are installed, that you have met all the requirements listed at the top of the page.

 • I am having trouble connecting using port forwarding.

Try using Hamachi instead. Make sure everyone has Hamachi, connected to each other through Hamachi, and everyone (except the host) has Hamachi IP nodes in their "TamrielOnline.ini" settings. The host can leave the IP set to "127.0.0.1".

 • Duplicates of my character appear, and a mirror image of what I am doing.

Double check your server settings, and make sure "testing" is set to false. If the problem persists, it is most likely a known bug that still does not have a permanent solution. At the same time, you can try connecting through another computer, or connecting to the Internet.

 • There are clones of humans all over the world.

This is a bug that occurs when people close from Skyrim without disconnecting from the game. To get rid of clones, you can use "markfordelete" in the console. This bug is currently working.

 • Other players do not appear when I enter the "ABC" building, or when I quickly travel to a "hug" location.

Try to connect, or there are other players again. This is a sync error from a position that is currently working.

 • I can't get out of the book, I can't hear dialogue, or my menus are messed up.

Try opening and closing the console once. This happens when the server is set to "canpause = false", the nopause option does not work 100% yet, and as such can cause a lot of menu glitches.

 • I crash when I load my gate while connecting.

In order to prevent a crash, it is best to disconnect from the server before loading a new save.

Multiplayer and the ability to play Skyrim online will spark a hilarious spark in the eyes of every true TES fan. The mod is in the alpha development stage, the base of the game is actively expanding. Even with occasional distorted images and errors, there is something to rejoice in.

The long-awaited opportunity for cooperative passage and battles between players will soon be implemented.

What does the mod already boast of? For example, everyone interested will clearly be happy with the news about the functionality of the game chat; the animation of the NPC and the participants themselves is also played; regions were synchronized, which made it possible to see other players who entered to make sure it was possible to play Skyrim online. Synchronization of faces, weather and possible genders has been performed.

Since the mod is just evolving, there are plans for regular improvements and further development. In the future, trade, private correspondence, of course, co-op will be available, as well as the synchronization of monsters that only you can see with the group system. Also combat system will be replenished with another form of virtual aggression - PvP and duels.

If you are finally interested in how to play Skyrim online through hamachi, then the next part of the article is devoted to this issue. The very first step to online world dragons will be installing the launcher. After downloading it, you need to download and then follow the clear instructions of the installer.

A mod file with the name SkyrimOnline.exe will be launched (hacked versions of the game are under threat, since the add-on does not always work with them). Then we register at http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/users/register/, where we get a login with a password.

Now we register at the link http://forums.skyrim-online.com/memb...ction=registe, after which launching SkyrimOnline.exe, we wait for the end of the current update. When we wait, you can run SkyrimLauncher.exe, where you must press F3 when entering. This button will pop up a window for entering a password and login.

The registration process is complete, now you yourself know the answer to how to play Skyrim online.

If you need to uninstall the mod, erase the following files: SkyrimOnline.asi, SkyrimOnlineProxy.dll, enbpatch.ini, d3d9.dll. Then find the settings files (config files) and save them in my documents.

Below is a small FAQ, where you can find tips for popular questions:

1. In order to open the game chat, you need to press F3, then click on the chat window located at the bottom left of the screen.

2. If the dll file fails, check for latest versions DirectX and Visual C ++ Redistributable. If the problem still persists, write about it on the forum (http://skyrim-online.com/?page_id=41)

3. It so happens that when creating a new character, one of the parties does not run with you to the shelter. As a solution, you need to make a new file in the single player and enter the game as usual. The error will be eliminated in the following innovations.

4. To turn off the multiplayer mode, press Escape. After leaving the game, start Skyrim.exe on a new one.

5. Online version Skyrim is often incompatible with other mods. For a comfortable game, it is advisable to disable all add-ons.

Main abbreviations:

WAN Server is a dedicated global server that anyone in the world will have access to.

A LAN server is a local closed server to which only people to whom you have indicated your IP can join (in theory, the same happens with a WAN server, but a LAN server provides a more stable connection, without "intermediaries").

- Please do not forget that all global servers work in test mode and do not contain full functionality.

- I also ask you not to forget that this mod is still far from complete and problems may arise.

Requirements:

Skyrim 1.9.32.0.8+

SKYUI 5.1 ( optional)

All higher specified requirements required for installation !

Removal: delete files from Skyrim and Data folders.
