RPG games for all time. Best Action RPGs for PC

  • 16.01.2020

The genre has been the so-called "cornerstone" for several years gaming industry.

Long before shooters and strategy games, game developers copied their board games, creating worlds full of wizards, orcs, and all kinds of dungeons. Those games were built on the basis of their desktop counterparts, but RPGs later gained serious popularity, and therefore their element spread to other games.

When it comes time to make a list of the best, the first question, of course, is what is considered “best”? As a result, you have to rely on which RPGs are interesting here and now - which ones you can still play and enjoy the process. The influence of the game on the masses does not fall outside the scope of the criteria, but does not occupy the main position.

It's still more difficult with the RPG genre - after all, each game is unique in its own way and at the same time also role-playing, and this all very much depends on everyone's personal preferences. Therefore, in this top, we tried to touch only those RPGs that can rightfully be considered "canonical", in which the emphasis is on the story, those in which you can acquire a character customizable through experience points, inventory and the outcome of dialogues, those that include building relations with NPCs and associates. Perhaps with a few exceptions.

Like its predecessors in the series, the game provides massive open spaces for exploration and adventure - not to mention quests, characters, and treasures. Given the love of the gaming community forSkyrim - from mods to soundtracks - they surely enjoy the journey that unfolds before them. And the "open" question of the ending and a variety of options for passing, allow you to create a variety of characters - which guarantees the "replayability" of the game. The player will play as an immortal person who has already lived many lives - but does not remember them. Yes, breaks the classicsRPGthe fact that in order to pass it - it is not necessary to "pump" to a certain level. But only if you are really good and understand all the nuances of the system - that craft is important, that certain items can only be found when completing certain ornate quests. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

  • Platforms: PC, Xbox one, PlayStation 4;
  • Release year: 2015;
  • Developer: CD Projekt RED.

Many RPGs tell the story of a lonely, wandering traveler, but few succeed as artistically as a developerWitcher 3 . This artistry manifests itself, first of all, in the setting itself, in these bright sunsets and dawns, these winds disturbing the leaves of trees - so that you want to walk every path, and not use fast jumps on the map. But the real strength of this game is in the quests with the involvement of NPCs - such that it makes the whole process of the game the most "human". Such quests act as a navigator in matters of morality and at the same time do not abound with obvious answer options.

Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn

  • Platforms: PC;
  • Release year: 2000;
  • Developer: BioWare.

Baldur "s Gate II

If originalBaldur's Gate provided dizzying territory to explore, then in the second part he added a focus. The territories are still huge, but now there is a purpose and a purpose - which is great for motivating without "sagging" in the field of personalization. This game, which made it to the list of "BestRPGgames "is not accidental, not only one of the largest among its relatives, but also quite detailed and deep. This did not pass the gameplay - a team of six characters under the control of the systemD&D leaves a lot of room for maneuver and tactics in each of the battles.Baldur's Gate one of those (relatively few) role-playing experiences that are difficult to compare with anything.

  • Platforms: PC;
  • Release year: 2003;
  • Developer: BioWare.

If you ask fansStar Wars aboutb their favorite stories within the universe, then many will undoubtedly call the best trilogyKnights of the old Republic . Even then, there were battles between the Sith and Jedi - and here it appears the protagonist... As the game progresses, the player will visit places hitherto unknown - like the Wookiee homeworld or the Jedi Academy.   • Platforms: PC, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3;
  • Release year: 2010;
  • Developer: Obsidian.

Though Fallout 3 was quite successful - he is a completely different beast compared to the classics. The action has returned to the West and has been replenished with elements of reputation and factional struggles. The game goes to a slightly different level - and it becomes a game not about good and bad, but about who should be trusted. It also has a classic humor for the series - it's hard not to love a game in which you are given a nuclear grenade launcher. There are also many mods available for the game, including from the developers themselves. But the most beloved in and which ensures her a place in the list of "BestRPGgames" this is the presence of the spirit of the good oldFallout , which we all love so much.

  • Platforms: PC, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3;
  • Release year: 2009;
  • Developer: BioWare.

Called to raise a good atmosphere from its kneesBaldur's Gate in which she succeeded. Ferelden is similar in many ways to the main territoriesBaldur's Gate nor does it feel like a fake. But there is also a relationship with associates - which awakens the old magicBioWare . The spawn of darkness are fiends that bring the world to the brink of destruction and this requires our attention, even though most of them look like faceless puppets. Players love how magic is handled inDragon age (or dislike?), how it fits into the world and what decisions need to be made regarding it.

  • Platforms: PC;
  • Release year: 1999;
  • Developer: Irrational Games.

Loneliness is a defining feature of the opening gameIrrational Games . Do you hearb audio logs of remarkable personalities who are involved in the fight against bio-terrorist creatures. But you will not meet these people - because they lost. Loneliness is the key because will strive to take everything from you. Something used on the droid might be a must for the next section - so think twice. But the biggest thing that the game takes to the middle is hope. Developers are specified in games where the environment is itself main character... This, at least, distinguishes her from a number of others.RPG.

  • Platforms: PC;
  • Release year: 2000;
  • Developer: Ion Storm Austin.

Do you want to break into the thick of the battles or quietly flank them? Or hack into a couple of terminals and get reinforcements from the droids? Or maybe talk to that security guard and persuade his group to take a lunch break? In the world so much freedom that the possibilities of choice seem endless. Although the game is like a shooter - it has enough elementsRPG,to be considered the latter. For example, if you take a pistol, the use of which is not pumped, there is a greater likelihood that you will miss. And even the weapon itself can be modified and "grow" in levels, which can turn an ordinary cheap pistol into a weapon of mass destruction.

  • Platforms: PC;
  • Release year: 2002;
  • Developer: Piranha Bytes.

Few - even the bestRPG the games on the list have an unwavering open world. And a tough inability to forgive mistakes. Many in the first passage simply make a "wrong turn" - and instead of the city they fall into the clutches of monsters, whose level is much higher than their own. The lesson is tough but learned. Sounds like loves to punish, but this is her charm - in her way of getting to know the world. The level of enemies does not grow evenly with yours, and indeed you should look around and listen carefully to the NPC in order to understand what to do and where to go. You still have to contend with awkward controls - but the beautiful world of thisRPGworth it.

Each time the stress level rises and this affects the fighters: they may disobey the player's order or start acting strange.

Top 10 best RPG games continues the reboot of the famous series -. According to the plot, the game continues after the events of the sixth "Heroes", so there are many old characters and previous conflicts in it. The player controls four heroes from different races. Each of them has three classes with their own skills and abilities.

The controversial assessment of the game by critics is primarily caused by an attempt by the developers to please the old fans of the game - it introduced a first-person combat system in cells, as it was in early games series. Not everyone liked this option of fighting.

7.

Ranked 7th in the Top 10 RPGs for PC - an open world game from a Japanese developer. The plot is typical for Japan - the main character seeks salvation from the curse. To do this, he must capture the souls of demonic entities that live in the Dranglik kingdom. The RPG is interesting for its complexity - the player will have to be defeated by a strong enemy more than once until his hero gets enough experience and skills.

The gameplay consists of a phased exploration of the kingdom and battles with a variety of opponents. For victory, the hero receives the soul of the enemy. It also plays the role of a universal currency - for souls you can buy the necessary items and increase the level of the character.

In XXII century, humanity entered the number of other intelligent races of the Galaxy. The world that reigned in her was disturbed only by vague memories of the Reapers - machines that destroy life every 50 thousand years. As it turned out, the time of their arrival is about to come. The third part takes the player to Earth, which the Reapers are already attacking.

A major scandal is associated with the game, caused by the discontent of many fans of the franchise with the endings of the third part. There are eight endings in total.

In the third part, the younger forces of Hell and the nephalem enter the struggle - people born from the union of demons and angels with extraordinary strength. The latter are controlled by the player.

The gameplay does not differ from previous games in the series - you still need to destroy enemies and collect artifacts. The player can choose to play solo or play with a team of four nephalem.

The ancient city of Yharnam, to which the suffering has long gone for help, was struck by an epidemic. Now it is full of terrifying monsters. The player controls a pilgrim who arrived in Yharnam for healing, who, with the help of a local ritual, was turned into a hunter for evil spirits. He explores the streets looking for monsters and infected people. Bloodborne's gameplay has increased difficulty - as is the case with Dark souls 2, the player will repeatedly lose the character until he gains enough experience to fight bosses.

2.

It's incredible beautiful game with detailed graphics. It has everything you need for a first-class RPG - a huge open world waiting to be explored, a wide variety of quests, a large number of characters, spectacular battles, the amazing beauty of the surrounding game world, the ability to fully customize your character and much more. The RPG genre is far from the last place in the gaming industry and is a direct competitor to the shooter genre. Such games, as a rule, are distinguished by a deep study of the universe in which the action takes place, a lot of charismatic characters and a non-linear plot. Thanks to new technologies in development, RPGs in recent years have been renowned for decent graphics, often setting new quality standards for games in other genres. In this article, we present the best RPG gamess on PC in recent years.

10. Divinity: Original Sin

Divinity: Original sin opens the ranking of the best RPGs on PC. This game is a prequel to Divine Divinity. The release date was constantly postponed due to work on large quantity localizations. Development funds were received from the Kickstarter platform, where the project was also advertised. The player controls two characters, the appearance and gender of which you can choose independently. As a result of travel, their relationship can become romantic or attached, depending on the compatibility of their characters. Also, the developers managed to implement an interesting crafting system. For example, to get a spear, you need to connect a knife to a broom. Another feature is the interactivity of the environment - of some items, it is enough just to build a real barricade and block the passage of opponents in order to gain an advantage in the battle.

9. Darksiders 2

Darksiders 2 Ranked # 9 on the list of the best RPG games on PC. In this game, the gamer will have to take control of one of the horsemen of the Apocalypse - Death, and go to save his brother War, who is in prison. The game world has doubled compared to the previous part, while the plot events take place in parallel. Gameplay is a mixture of slasher and action RPG. The balance has also been extensively reworked to match Death's combat tactics, which prefers to strike before the enemy starts swinging. The RPG system is well implemented, the player can collect various combinations of weapons and armor, as well as learn skills that help in battle.

8. Diablo 3

Diablo 3 ranked 8th among the best RPG games. In my time diablo game became a real hit and was able to keep players in front of computer screens day and night. The game takes place several decades after Diablo 2. The world has become even darker and more dangerous, monsters climb out of all the cracks and the player will have to figure it out. The developers have radically changed all available character classes and tied randomly generated tasks to them, unique for each hero. Interestingly, just a day after the official release, just under 4 million copies were sold.

7. The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion

Bethesda was able to please its fans and create a real masterpiece among RPG games. Compared to the third part in The elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion graphics were seriously improved, realistic physics appeared, quests were complicated and much more. The plot is replete with sharp turns and dynamics. But most importantly, the main feature of the series has been preserved - no one forces the player to follow only the plot's outline. After training, the developers throw the gamer near the sewers of the Imperial City and send them in plain text in search of adventures, which are quite easy to find in this world. Atmospheric locations and professional Russian voice acting allow you to go headlong into Cyrodiil and get great pleasure from the game.

6. Dragon Age: Inquisition

Dragon age: inquisition Is a good role-playing game on the PC, which is also worth playing for fans of the genre. In the third part, the player will have to revive the Inquisition in order to confront the demons pushing from the Shadow. Now the gamer can independently determine not only the appearance, voice and character of his hero, but also the race. The gameplay has been greatly changed, some of its features are generally copied from the game Mass effect 3, which added some variety to game process.

5. Fallout 4

Fallout 4 - another part of the popular RPG from Bethesda studio, which was expected with great hope by hundreds of fans around the world. Now the player can lead his own settlement, collect resources and rebuild buildings. The apocalyptic world has become even more fascinating and interesting to explore. On its territory, hostile groups are fighting, which you can join. Various innovations and thoughtful game world allow the player to spend a long time in this post-apocalyptic world of nuclear wastelands.

4. Mass Effect 3

Ranked # 4 in the Top 10 RPGs on PC Mass effect 3... In the third part, Captain Shepard will again have to fight off the attack of the Reapers who attacked the Galaxy. In doing so, he will have to enlist the support of all intelligent races, including the Geth. Naturally, gamers will have to settle many petty conflicts before the aliens see the full scale of the threat and agree to help. The ending of the game caused a special controversy among critics and players, due to the weak motivation of the hero and some logical inconsistencies. Nevertheless, the game turned out to be very decent and colorful.

3. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim opens the top three RPG games on PC. Immediately after the release, Skyrim was "doomed to success." The main plot revolves around the confrontation between the Empire and the rebel Stormcloaks. The conflict itself began with the sudden death of the High King of Skyrim, bringing the province to the brink of war. The player can support any of these sides, resulting in different endings. However, according to the prophecies, the gamer will have to fight the awakening dragons anyway. The world of the game turned out to be quite alive - now NPCs can go about their business even during dialogues with the hero, for example, cook food or have lunch. The atmosphere of the Far North is perfectly felt throughout the entire plot, especially thanks to the recently released remastering, which brought to new level already excellent graphics.

2. Dark Souls 3

Whole series Dark souls known for being unfriendly to newbies. To move from the spawn point further along the locations, the gamer will have to actually learn the movements of the opponents, since almost any of them can carry out a fatal series of blows, after which the player is unlikely to get up. Another feature of the game is the complete absence of the history of the universe, but this is only at first glance. In fact, all the information is in the description of the items, so there is an additional point in picking up the next "dungeon key" to open the inventory and read a little. Also, tips can be found in the dialogues of the characters, which are located in different places... The dark atmosphere of gothic fantasy clearly creates the feeling of a slowly dying world, which, along with the complexity of the passage, makes Dark Souls 3 one of the best RPGs at the moment.

1. The Witcher 3

1st place in the ranking of the top 10 best RPGs on PC is worthy The Witcher 3 from the Polish studio CD Projekt RED. Thanks to active advertising and a responsible approach to creating the game, the Poles managed to make a solid RPG with a well-thought-out combat system, a strong storyline and interesting additional tasks, each of which is a small independent story with different ending options. The notorious witcher Geralt from Rivia remained the main character. A distinctive feature of this universe is the instability of good and bad characters. A former enemy can become a friend, and vice versa, depending on the player's actions and decisions made by him. The graphic performance is at a high level, which causes an additional influx of players who appreciate the realistic images. All this allows us to call The Witcher 3 the best role-playing game, and it is likely that it will be able to hold this title for more than one year.

CRPG (Computer / Console Role-Playing Game) is the daughter of a board role-playing game. If you look at the first CRPGs, it's hard not to feel the influence of Dungeons & Dragons: the same numerical parameters such as the experience scale, level, hitpoints, collecting valuable loot, pumping skills and a small group of heroes whose goal is to go somewhere far in pursuit of a great goal. On their way, they fight enemies, take trophies, earn a living, improve their skills, in general, have fun in every possible way. It would be nice to go on a hike like this, right?

There is hardly a person who at least once would not like to escape from reality with its dullness and a bunch of problems, to be someone else in another world. Fighting evil and saving the world sounds much more noble than staring at the office every day, and there you are not far from the princesses.

Classic RPGs are so good that they immerse us, ordinary people, in an alternative reality thanks to a thoughtful world, the characters of the characters, the ability to choose (or create a plausible illusion of choice) where the player will take the plot. Of course, without mixing with other genres, borrowing some elements from them, it was not without, but all the more interesting.

12. Torment: Tides of Numenera

Children born in the year of the release of the legendary Planescape: Torment have already celebrated their majority before the release of its ideological successor. Although these two games are separated by such a solid period of time, Torment: Tides of Numenera carefully preserves the traditions of its predecessor.

As in the original, fundamental questions about the structure of the world are raised here, the same principle of storytelling remains and much of what we loved Planescape: Torment for. But the setting has changed: if before all things were ruled by magic in its most classical sense, now it appears thanks to artifacts and technologies. In addition, the plot develops around life, not death, as in the original.

11.Neverwinter Nights series

10. Series Gothic

Gothic - CRPG in a fantasy setting with a classic role-playing system, and all that it implies. The first part of the series was released in 2001 and took the player into a world torn apart by conflict between people and. In the first two parts you have to travel and complete quests on Khorinis, while the third part sends the player to explore the mainland.

Gothic - traditional RPG in all senses. Character leveling here, of course, is one of the primary tasks. The main characteristics, skills and abilities in Gothic are practically the same as most of the representatives of the genre. Classics after all. However, in the third part, the role-playing system has undergone some changes, including the introduction of the reputation parameter. By completing tasks for different guilds, residents of certain locations, tribes, you can get additional buns.

9. Baldur's Gate series

Baldur's Gate is not just the first famous BioWare project, it is the most classic of the genre. The first game in the series was released back in 1998 and immediately acquired a whole army of fans.

There are many reasons for this. An open world of colossal size at that time could be explored as much as your heart desires. The plot was built on the basis of the AD&D universe of the second edition. The player will have to go in search of adventure, leading a whole group of characters. Moreover, each of them has their own character, their own desires and attitudes towards the actions of their leader - if you do something that the character does not like, he may even send you to hell and go home.

In 2012, to the delight of gamers languishing with longing for their favorite series, a re-release was released - Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition. You can download it in.

8. Might and Magic series

Despite being a spin-off, Heroes of Might and Magic, has become much more popular than its predecessor games - a huge achievement in the gaming industry. The first game is older than many of our readers, because it was released in 1986. An advantageous difference from other games in the fantasy setting was the introduction of elements of science fiction.

In the original series, the developers focused on exploration along with a whole group of heroes. Battles here are not particularly dynamic, but they are not devoid of a tactical component, which will delight players who are not looking for easy ways. Old games are good because they make you turn on your head, and sometimes beat it against the monitor.

In 2014, the tenth part was released, reviving interest in the series, although, it seemed, no one expected this anymore.

7. Pillars of Eternity

6. Icewind Dale Series

The gameplay of Icewind Dale practically does not differ from Baldur's Gate, nevertheless the games of the series were warmly received by critics and gamers, and musical arrangement was awarded many laudatory odes.

The game takes place in the same Forgotten Realms, taking the player to the frozen northern regions of the world, but the emphasis in it is on combat and high difficulty, which compensates for the linearity of the plot. Initially, the developers planned to build it on the basis of the trilogy "Icewind Valley" by Robert Salvatore - a heroic fantasy, one of the first works in the Forgotten Realms universe. But in the end, they decided that it would be better to postpone the action several decades ago, so some book characters did not appear in the game.

5. Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magick Obscura

Even though Arcanum has bankrupted its developers, it has become truly. The plot of the game is thought out to the smallest detail, and the characters are spelled out in such detail, as if they left the pages of books.

The style of the game has caused genuine delight among many, because harmoniously combining magic with technology is not an easy task. Nevertheless, the developers managed to fulfill it by mixing these ingredients in equal proportions. It was just the confrontation between science and magic that formed the basis of everything that happens in the game.

In addition, the character development system, music, tactical turn-based battles and a giant world that can hardly be fully explored in a single playthrough were awarded all praise.

4. The Witcher

Surely everyone who read Sapkovsky's novels imagined what it would be like to live in such a harsh world, inhabited by thousands of monsters and people who sometimes turn out to be worse than any monsters. And this world seems so real largely due to its cruelty.

Despite the fact that the last book seemingly cut off all paths to the continuation of the story, launching the game, it becomes clear that it is not over yet. The witcher was badly crippled, but survived. Only now he does not remember practically anything from his past life. Nevertheless, he will continue to have to fight evil in all its manifestations. The plot of the games is thought out as well as in the books.

With each part of the series, the gameplay has undergone changes. For example, in the second part, it became possible to overcome obstacles such as low walls and fences, changed somewhat, making a bias to the side, and in the third we finally learned how to play gwent, adored by dwarves and completely incomprehensible to Geralt.

3. The Elder Scrolls series

2. Dragon Age series

The world consists of individual countries ruled by people. Dwarf states are underground. But the elves were not as lucky as in the Witcher - they were exterminated for a long time, and now the unfortunate sharp-eared creatures are forced to live in specially designated areas or even wander around.

1. Fallout and Fallout 2

For many, Fallout is love for life. The hero development system, unusual memorable characters scattered across the map, an open world with a bunch of possibilities and a superbly seasoned atmosphere - this is what immortalized Fallout.

The developers have created a unique world: events seem to unfold in the distant future after nuclear war, but everything is done in a retro-futuristic style, evoking associations with the 40-50 years of the last century. There are tons of really cool elements and features in the first installments of the series, but perhaps the best part is the ability to become anyone and do anything. If you want to try on the role of a villain, you can become, for example, a cruel mercenary, and if you are closer to the role of a good guy, exterminate mutants, free slaves and keep order.

Both games were released in the late 90s, so today's gamers who are put off by the graphics hardly have anything to blame. The following parts, of course, look prettier, but in many ways deviate from the canons set at the beginning of the series. So it remains to be hoped for a re-release of the legend.

Do you play on Android smartphone or a tablet in games? I personally, yes, but people like us immediately pose a serious obstacle, because the app store has a lot of timekillers, runners, pixel platformers and much more. And although I do not despise all these genres as such, but such an abundance similar games sometimes does not allow you to find something really interesting and worthwhile. And since I myself often face a similar problem, I decided to make the top of the best in my genre, starting with, in fact, my favorite - RPG. So, after reading this top, you will find out the 10 best RPG games that you can download to your device running both Android and iOS. By the way, I want to warn you about one thing - the top is not made up of any comments, reviews, reviews or ratings in app stores, but solely in my personal opinion. So most of what has been said here will be very subjective, but after all, I am the same player as you, so I understand you perfectly and will not deliberately invent advantages or disadvantages for a particular game. If you are interested - welcome, I hope you enjoy the games from this top.

10th place - Earth And Legend

If you've played Crusade of Destiny, which used to be a pretty popular RPG on Android and iOS, then you should love new game from the same developers. It has, in fact, everything that you loved in Crusade of Destiny, only the picture is much better, although now it does not seem as good as at the time of release. But nevertheless, the unsightly graphics does not make this game bad, because it has a lot of possibilities: dynamic weather and day / night change, support cooperative game via Bluetooth, complete freedom of movement across locations, taming pets and much more.

And after all, the game is not bad and addictive, but there are too few dialogues and quests in it, the world is rather empty, and the game engine has not changed compared to the previous part. Overall a solid RPG, but not as fun as the others, so let's get to ninth place.

9th place - Battleheart Legacy

Battleheart Legacy is a continuation of the Battleheart game, which was released on mobile devices back in 2011. But even though this is a sequel, you don't need to play original game - Legacy acts as a completely independent RPG. What is special about this game is, first of all, the controls. The developers decided to get rid of the usual stick on the left, necessary for movement, replacing it by pressing the screen. Everything is extremely simple: click on a place - the character goes there. Personally, I can't say for sure whether this control is convenient, but the fact that the developers decided to approach this issue is good news in itself.

The game also lacks any of the class restrictions found in many mobile RPGs. If you do not understand - in most cases, we initially choose a character class (warrior, magician, thief or archer) and after that we either constantly strike with the sword, or constantly use magic, and so on. And although there is such a choice in the game, but it is rather conditional, because we can always pump out of the character an archer who uses magic in battle or, if necessary, pulls out a sword and cuts annoying enemies in close combat. I consider such an opportunity to be a plus of the game, because in this case it is not necessary at the very beginning to think over whether this or that class will suit us - if you wish, just pump the character under a different type of weapon. The exploration of the world occurs by moving a marker on the map from one location to another, while a random event can begin right during the movement. The game also has its own graphic style, which, by the way, may not please everyone. In the meantime, you are thinking about whether you like it - I suggest moving to the eighth place in the top.

8th place - Dungeon Hunter 4.

Surely many have heard about the series Dungeon hunter from Gameloft. Once upon a time, these were simply benchmark mobile RPGs. The only pity is that the second part became the last of the reference ones, and the third and fourth parts are already much worse than the previous ones in many things (except, of course, graphics). However, if you do not take into account the old parts of the series, Dungeon Hunter 4 has been, in fact, one of the best in the genre for quite some time. And also free. Do you understand what I'm getting at? That's right, donate. Although in defense of the game I can say that the donation is not so intrusive, I personally played it for about 30 hours and did not see the need to invest a couple of hundred rubles for more fast pumping or clearing the next dungeon. So yes, even though there is donat, it can hardly be called a minus.
If you want to know about the plot, then this game tells us about the kingdom, which was suddenly invaded by demons, with which we will have to fight. And, basically, that's all you need to know about the plot, because it's pretty boring and mediocre.
The game has a well-developed open world, and good (for the time of release, of course) graphics, interesting gameplay, several classes and many character abilities. If you want yourself a free and very solid RPG, you will most likely not regret downloading DH4.
"Wait, there is Dungeon Hunter 5, why then in the top 4?" - such a thought could arise in you, and I understand you perfectly. The fact is that I myself was looking forward to the fifth part, downloaded it on the day it was released and ... I was disappointed. Yes, they tightened the graphics, added many new animations, features, but the game does not, for example, have an open world (and in my opinion, this is one of the main attributes for an RPG), and it also does not tighten like the 4th. Although, again, this is my personal opinion, and you may well like the 5th part.

Let's take a look at the pros and cons of Dungeon Hunter 4 that I can tell you after 30 hours of playing:
Pros: good open world, good graphics, some semblance of a plot (which I wrote about above), many opportunities in terms of pumping and modifying equipment, the presence of the Russian language.
Cons: donation (as I wrote about above) and the lack of saving in the cloud.
The last minus, by the way, is also the reason why I gave up this game. Well, a game that lasts more than 50 hours cannot store data only on the device. If it had cloud sync, I might still be playing it. In the meantime, you are thinking whether you often change devices or reset them to factory settings - let's move on to the seventh place in our top.

7th place - Wild Blood

King Arthur suddenly went mad with jealousy for Sir Lancelot, who took this opportunity to court Queen Guinevere. Taking this opportunity, Morgana forced Arthur to open the gates of hell and the demons came to earth. Now Sir Lancelot will have to clean up this whole situation.
I don't know if you need this description of the plot, but it sounds pretty epic, so it was worth putting it in. The game was released at a time when Gameloft had not yet slipped into free-play and were making really worthwhile games.

Powered by Unreal Engine, great graphics, gameplay is pretty good too, many types of weapons and a network mode. Quite a solid RPG, but I would have thought about buying it, nevertheless the developer undermined his confidence. Alas, I haven't played this game much, so I can't write much about it, but what I've seen is enough to say that this game is worth playing.

6th place - Aralon: Sword And Shadow

Personally, I have considered Aralon one of the best RPGs for mobile devices for quite some time. But this game has several problems: outdated engine, outdated graphics, the game does not support new screen resolutions, and so on. Yes, at the time of release, these problems were not present, but now they can interfere with the enjoyment of the gameplay. At the same time, the game is still pretty good: a lot of quests, items, dialogues and a plot for more than 30 hours.

According to the plot, our hero is one of the king's guards. But the father of the protagonist was killed, and the plot of the game lies in solving the murder, finding the murderers and revenge for the death of his father. The developers promise an exciting storyline with many mysteries, tasks and battles.
The game also features an open world that you can fully explore, as well as talk to all of the storyline and non-storyline characters. At the same time, the world is made quite alive: at certain times the sun sets and rises, chickens run on the lawns, and people in villages and cities go about their daily activities. All this creates a certain atmosphere, which, of course, is not as delightful as in the first place of our top, but still pretty good and much better than much that is in the app stores of mobile devices. If only because it just is. The game is catchy, you want to play it, but problems with new devices may well spoil your impression of the game. In principle, this is its only drawback. Many possibilities and big world give this game the sixth place in our top. But, alas, it is difficult for her to withstand competitors, so let's see what we have in fifth place.

5th place - Evoland

Have you ever thought about how you can create a completely original and unique game? Surely different stories come to mind about something that has not yet been touched upon, or various combat systems hitherto unseen in the genre. But the guys from Shiro Games thought better and came up with a concept for a truly unique RPG. Meet - Evoland.
And what is so unique about her? The fact that your main goal here is not the extermination of millions of mobs. Yes, of course there is an open world, and pumping, and even story line (although the plot is made according to the principle "If only it was"), but the concept of the game is fundamentally different from all competitors of this game. The fact is that this is a kind of excursion into the history of the development of video games in general and games of the RPG genre in particular. Almost throughout the gameplay, we will stumble upon chests, opening which we will make a leap in the development of video games: either the enemies will open, then the health bar, or even three-dimensional locations. And although this is not quite the RPG that will delight us for days, it is definitely worth going through it at least for the sake of this very originality. In general, it is quite simple and straightforward.

The combat system in the game ... It is different. Yes, this term is right here, because during the gameplay, the game changes beyond recognition, both in terms of graphics, and in terms of gameplay and combat system. Here you can run around locations with a simple sword attack in a certain area like in games for the GameBoy, and explore the open world and turn-based battles in style Final Fantasy, and Diablo-style real-time combat. After playing this game, you can also take a look at what gamers of the past generation endured.
The graphics in the game are also different - from pixel 2D and black and white to quite adequate 3D.
There are also easter eggs for the attentive: if you like to read dialogues from start to finish, read descriptions of all subjects and explore all locations, and also if you are familiar with the series games The Legend Of Zelda, Diablo, and Final Fantasy - you will surely find tons of fun stuff and references. Either you have to fight the ghost of the antagonist of one of the FF parts, then you will find a thing that, when put on, you will receive +10 to the spirit of adventure or a large critical damage when attacking cows ... In general, for the especially attentive and meticulous there are many things that they can laugh at ...

4th place - Order & Chaos Online 2: Redemption

Have you ever wondered if you can play full-fledged MMORPGs on mobile devices? If so, then some developers don't mind this idea either. Among them, Gameloft stands out with its Order & Chaos Online, which has been the best mobile MMORPG for 4 years. But technology does not stand still, as does the hardware of the devices, and the company had to release a new part (although I think they could just tighten the graphics old game in the update). So, welcome - Order & Chaos 2: Redemption. Without a doubt, this game, along with the first part, will be included in all the tops of the best MMORPGs for mobile devices: quests with many dialogues, a large open world, very good graphics, many weapons and ways to level up your character.

The multiplayer component is also made at a height: here you have both guilds and PVP, and all the characters on the server are visible in real time (which causes some inconvenience when completing some quests). In general, I advise this game the fact that he loves MMORPGs and does not want to part with them even away from the computer.

3rd place - Vainglory

Another replacement for full-fledged PC games, but now in the MOBA genre. I would say that this game is the best in the genre (of course on mobile devices), but it's hard for me to do this, because in fact it has only one competitor - Heroes of Order & Chaos. At the same time, Vainglory personally seems to me more interesting in terms of gameplay.

The game is good in everything. Graphics, music and gameplay are all great. At the same time, the developers did not forget about the target platform: the map is rather small so as not to waste a lot of time when moving along it, and there is only one line with towers. There is also a forest in which there are three mines (the capture of which will help one of the teams). The fights last, on average, 20-30 minutes.
The game, in general, is similar to colleagues in the workshop, but at the same time it is not deprived of its originality. If you need a full-fledged MOBA for your phone or tablet, feel free to download it, you will not regret it. The developers, by the way, are constantly adding new characters and new features to the game.

2nd place - Star Wars: Knights of the Old Rebublic

The game takes place about four thousand years before the events of the first part of the film. We wake up on spaceship, which is storming the Sith, and after that one of the pilots asks to help him break through the hordes of enemies and find an important person who was on our ship. This is where the story begins, which is likely to be of interest to you from start to finish.
This game is worth playing for three reasons: if you are a fan Star Warsif you played it as a child and want to feel nostalgic or just looking for a great RPG on your smartphone or tablet. For me personally, this game is just a childhood game. By the way, unlike all previous games, this one should be played on a tablet, because this game is intended for a PC and was developed for large screens. On phones, of course, it is also possible, but still not as convenient as on tablets.
What's good about this game? Everything. Music, plot, atmosphere, characters, locations. Everything you can think of is at a very high level. The only problem, again, is the graphics, which, although pretty good, were still released in 2003 and the graphics level is appropriate.

I also want to note that the game contains a number of references to the film. For example, in the game you can find some characters with the names of various characters in the film, which somehow hints that these are their distant ancestors (one character even has a surname, which was originally supposed to go to Luke Skywalker, but for some reason it was changed ). Or, for example, a couple of quotes from films, very aptly inserted into the gameplay. Again, if you are a Star Wars fan, you will surely enjoy these references.
The PC version of the game received a lot of positive reviews from various publications and it is easy to understand that it received them for a reason.
But everyone is probably already wondering what is so outlandish for the first place, even if the port of the old PC game with a bunch of awards lost to it. Let's not wait and see what, in my opinion, deserves the title of "Best Mobile RPG".

1. The Bard's Tale

You've probably already heard about this game. This is not surprising, because this is a port famous game from a PC, perhaps with a touchscreen-adapted control.
This game is made in the form of a bard's narration. This bard is not simple: firstly, he has a magic lute, with the help of which he can summon magic allies or similar things to help him. Secondly, the main character himself appears as a joker with a good sense of humor. And in general, he is quite selfish and funny, which also does not let you get bored during the gameplay.

The Bard's Tale also stands out from the rest of the games of its genre by the way in which tasks are presented. From the very first task, you will understand this, and most likely you will not want to break away from the game. A lot of jokes, gags, atmospheric unplayable characters (which is only a drunken choir, which, if desired, can sing to us). Almost all quests are given to us in the process of video inserts, which, of course, are made on the game engine. And the game itself in some way laughs at the seriousness of most (if not all) classic RPGs, while being an excellent representative of this genre.
For its excellent atmosphere and plot, the game comes out on top in our top.

This, perhaps, is all. As you can see, with mobile games everything is not so bad, and if you rummage in the app store, you can find a couple good projects... In the meantime, I'm wondering what games did you like the most and what would you put first?
